please be aware that as soon as you change the mag or the front handguard you are not 922r compliant.as far as the gear to put on your weapon,it is personal preferrane.some just go with a scope and bi-pod, others add the laser,flashlightand verticle grip. all this adds weight and can be a pain to carry.i went simple ,just the scope and bi-pod. the stock,pistol gripand forarm guard are all tapco. the scope mount is a utg quick release.i made my 308 compliant without doing the conversion at first. later i did the conversion. here is a before pic some like the look and some do not. i persona

sounds to me like red jacket is the waay to go. i watch the show and it looks like they really know what they are doing when i comes to the AK platform. they even suppressed an AK.

looks nice. i had the same rear stock as you but did not like how bulky it looked right behind the reciever so i bought the t6 stock for converted saigas.now i have a t6 for another saiga as if i needed a reason to buy one. lol

i did my conversion and had to do nothing with my safety lever. i can put safety on,pull trigger and take safety off with no problems. used the basic kit #2 fron CSS.

are you not allowed riifles where you are? you can convert them yourself easily with excellent results.just watch the videos over and over and you will eventually see how easy.

i am in the same boat as you with me haveing a metal plate and 3 screws in my left wrist and nerve damage in my left hand causing me to lose all strength at any time.i tend to make my weapons more comfortable to be used by me.sometimes they might not be asthetically pleasing to others but whatever allows me to shoot is what i will do.

i did mine with no problems. was easy. hardest part was the spring.

no shit. i have a .308 and want to put the furniture on it. when i spoke to a person at css i was told it could work. well, it doesn't.so now my only recourse is to see if maybe CSS will make the part the right size for us with the .308 rifles. i don't mind buying another one that will fit.

and make sure you do the conversion to get rid of the aweful trigger that comes stock .

def get the saiga and in the 16" barrel. the 22" is a tad heavy but can be cut down to the length you need for the ammo you will be shooting by a gunsmith.

get a quick detachable utg mount like i have then. takes 2 seconds to remove.

curious.why not convert the rifle yourself. i did it with one hand and it was my first one.everything works perfect even the safety and bho.

for the alignment tool you can use a wooden dowel and to make sure the front sight is pretty much in the right spot you can use a bubble style level.you willl have to disassemble the rifle as if you are cleaning and make sure to reciever is level first then you can use the level on the front sight.
