  1. HMM.. not sure how I mistakenly double posted that one... I have a couple of the "between the studs" safe. They are great for ammo, but a little shallow for weapons that have pistol grips or mags inserted. You could get 2 maybe 3 weapons in one. I made shelves and store ammo in mine.
  2. I have a cheap sentry style locking cabinet beside my gun safe that I keep all my ammo in. These are also good to stash ammo in and will fit in a closet without using existing space..

  4. WJ, An appraisal can help out in this situation as well as a disaster situation like a house fire. We had a house fire in 2005 Lost all my collections (weapons, baseball cards and guitars). Found out insurance policies don't automatically cover a lot of collections. For many collections,, they must be apprasied by a certified appraiser and listed as a rider on the policy. I know that coins or other unserialized collections are very difficult to insure since if they are stolen they are impossible to track. My wife and I started a part-time appraisal company to try to fill a void of
  5. My wife and I live north of Burlington, NC... Deffinately have to get a shoot together. There's a few of us in NC I know of.
  6. Well that might help move things along, if what I've read about the "must have a storefront" thing is true. Because I do know that there are FFL's (I know of 1 in NY), where the store-front is not a gunstore. There's a hardware store that has an FFL and does transfers. I've even seen a heating & air conditioning company owner with an FFL who did transfers. Good luck in your search. The storefront is nice and may help, but not absolutely necessary.. At least in our case. We operate out of our home. We got licensed in Nov. of 2008. The BATF inspector told us as long as you
  7. Very cool design. I like the BHO lever. Nice work!
  8. The hangup with the home based FFL is that you must be in the "business" of selling weapons, not collecting... This means you will most likely need a business license (which is easy) but the BATF will ask if your desired location is zoned business. If it is zoned residential, you will most likely not qualify. It does't have to be zoned business or industrial, but it can't be residential... Good Luck! The worst part is the application...
  9. I have the Magnumm Research Micro Eagle .380 acp. It's 14 ounces empty and carries very well. The only hangup I have is the cost and availability of .380 ammo.
  10. The use of a cold chisel will vastly reduce the stress and irritation of removing the rivets and pins. It's also a lot quicker. +1 for the cold chisel... Much easier than drilling and punching.. Those spot welds can be impossible to drill through..
  11. Still prayin for you guys... FWIW, my mother had both radiation and chemo.. She said the chemo made her feel a little bad, but the radiation was painless and did not make her feel bad. I am about 40 miles west of UNC. If I can help with anything, don't hesitate to ask.
  12. If you decide to try to use the original TG and mess yours up, I have a couple of extras that I could part with..
  13. Thoughts and prayers going out to both you guys... UNC Cancer Center is one of the best facilities.
  14. Nice Azrial! That's a rare one! I'd hold onto it! I know, it is a factory hard chrome model with several mags and a European holster. I used it in a commercial film to demonstrate close proximity shooting techniques. But, I am going to sell or trade it for a Valmet or a 7.62x39 Galil... Don't do i! You'll regret it.... Sure wish I had a valmet or galil..... Or a bunch of cash.
  15. WOW.. I'd sure like to have a double stack 9mm or the .40 S&W to add to the collection.. But at those prices, I'll have to do some serious shopping around. Think I might grab another couple of the PSP's in the meantime.
  16. Glad I'm not the only fan. Any suggestions on holsters? Looking to get P7M8, M13 or M10 next....
  17. Good guy.. RIP... Cancer sucks and is a painful way to die.. God bless

  19. Somebody's dad is gonna be pissed if he finds out what his kid was doing to his weapons while he was gone...
  20. I'm not scared.. I own lots of weapons and have a great safe to keep them in (not the one in the pic of course). Here's an old pic of some of my stuff.. Some of these have been sold, replaced with newer stuff or converted properly (aka.. the 410).
  21. Which is only a drawback to recreational shooting (don't you have other guns to shoot while the P7 cools down?) If you're using it in a HD situation, I doubt it'll get hot at all (or if you'll notice it if it does). Yeah, having 3 more rounds than most revolvers must suck. If you need more than a couple of rounds to solve your issues, you don't need a pistol to solve 'em with . . They are among the finest guns ever made. I agree on all points made.. They are deffinately one of the best handguns I have ever fired. I also should have included "price" somewhere in there as we
  22. I'm sure other vendors have them, but I know Dinzag has them... Look at the the Dinzag Arms page or his links. I'm sure he has plenty.
  23. I bought two of these on a whim since HK has a good rep. I am extremely happy with my purchase.. They are both very accurate, reliable and safe. The squeeze mechanism in the front cocks the weapon and will release the slide after a fresh mag is inserted. You only have to squeeze once, then empty the mag, insert a new mag and squeeze again and the slide drops, loading the top round and cocks it all in one motion.. If you release the squeeze lever, the weapon de-cocks and engages the drop safety. The action is a gas retard system. The barrel has the polygonal rifling and is mounted to the f
