  1. Evl/Gunfun, thanks again for your help in pointing me in the correct direction...My RWC was nothing special...except the barrel was cut and a muzzle brake welded onto the barrel and re-finished. 4 port gun with all 4 ports unobstructed. Would not cycle Wally World cheap ammo as supplied from RWC. After studying the action and seeing where the issues are in the platform, along with reading all the info on the site. She runs like a sewing machine (bad analogy)! After shooting all types of cheap ammo thru the gun she is very sweet and fun to shoot.
  2. Keep your head-up! This stuff happens to all of us. You could use a 6MM tap, which is .014 of an inch smaller than a 6MM .236. Easier to find a 1/4/-20 screws than metric screws in most cases. You can grind down the head (from the hex hole side of the screw) on a socket head cap screw. Grind the top of the screw where you use the allen wrench to tighten the screw. Leave enough material to tighten the screw and the head thick enough to hold the guide in place. Not much pressure, just used as a loading ramp... Drill hole to .201 are slightly larger to use 1/4 inch hardware.
  3. Plus 1 ^^^. I Rescued a S-12 from someone who heated the gas block and distorted the thru bore that attaches the GB to the barrel, Good advice! If you did heat the GB, check to see if the hole is round. Use a small brake hone to remove the ovality (distortion) and use a precision measuring device to measure the GB as you hone. Of course I purchased the S-12 at salvage price!
  4. If you find the art work please contact me. I have access to CAD/CAM software and CNC machining centers. Thanks
  5. Geez...what subject are you not fluent in? Thanks for the advice. I read up on setting up a trust, before I spoke with an expert that explained the trust must stand up in a court of law when challenged by the feds or locals...not a good place to be in a lawyer missed some key points of law.. That is the nice thing about trusts. Nothing to the secretary of state. Private, except when you submit it to the BATFE no one else has the ability to look up the terms, etc. But your lawyer should have told you that. Which makes me think you didn't have competent legal help. Do you really
  6. Mr. Rumore, I apologize to you for my assumption that a shotgun listed as selling with a "Monster Brake" welded onto the barrel was your product. I wasn't trying to mislead or misstate information, just being a dumbass for my assumption. Sorry I associated your great name and product with RWC....
  7. Thanks for the heads-up on the action. I would be embarrassed to machine parts in the condition production guns are shipped. I hope if I have a concern or question you might answer a question or two?
  8. Capt, Thanks for the info! You guys are great!
  9. I understand the points you've made, great analogy to the gears! I would be shocked if you didn't respect the technical expertise of Evl and a few other forum members. Again Thanks for your help! I enjoyed the Kaw videos you have on youtube. I owned a bike just like your bike, a very mean wife made me sell the bike after I was involved in an accident with a car running a stop sign...
  10. Actually I'm a precision instrument maker for a large university Physic department. I machine precision parts out of exotic materials and some not so exotic material to very precise dimensions for cutting edge research...I appreciate your input on where to look and what to do. I've studied this forum and respect what you have accomplished with your ability to trouble shoot and solve complex issue with the Saiga-12 platform. I was interested in input about this type of S-12 and you and Evl provided excellent advice for me, for that I thank you! You guys keep up the great work! I'll use the info
  11. Thanks Stryker! Sounds like I'll have a Saiga tattoo after beating the S-12 and my shoulder!
  12. Evl. Thanks for your feedback on this gun. I respect your opinion on the Saiga platform. You are the man!
  13. Hey Folks, Anyone buy one of these S-12's? Do they require the same amount of tender loving care the non-converted guns require? Thanks for you opinions, this is the best site on the internet for info!
  14. Great Offer! I'm in on this build! Thanks and prayers for our troops and families taht fought for us and this grteat country! God Bless the USA!!!!!!!!
  15. Central Ohio here! Where do you shoot down in the Cinci area? Columbus area? Where do you shoot? I know 2 other S-12 owners in Columbus area.
  16. If you dedide to do this mod use a reamer to open up the barrel. You can buy cobalt chucking reamers from MSC Supply. Also purchase a small bottle of black cutting oil use on the barrel and reamer. Feed the reamer slowly and use a slow RPM. Good luck with the project!
  17. Welcome to Saiga world! I'm from the Columbus Area and would also be more than willing to let you look at or fire each type of my Saigas converted/unconverted. Again read up and enjoy!
  18. The shells work great and hold a nice pattern!
  19. Check the area around the shell feeding ramp where the lugs lock the bolt closed. I noticed that the brass rubbed the sides of the casting and stopped the bolt from closing completely, i used a file to remove a little material.Second remove your gas block again and chamfer/polish where the carrier rod enter the back of the gas block, this also was a snag point on my gun. after both mods my gun will run anything on the correct gas plug setting.
  20. That must be without the extras that MD arms listed!
  21. I manage a CNC shop and have a journeymens machinist card, sent a year in college and got married and had two children which ended my chance of working my way thru college as a machinist. I designed and build "things" that required top secret investigation from the FBI to quote the parts. IMHO and 38 years working with metals, and considered by many to be an expert in my chosen field. I agree 100% with Pauly and Cobra, I don't know or have not met either man, but I would like too. They gave me enough information for me to build my guns into a shooting machine! I have access to very costly and
  22. Mike, The NRA April addition has the story about the shotgun issues. I'll let you guys read and form you own opinions. But this is a very real issue. I wrote my congressman in Ohio and revcd a reply from him. I suggest the powers that be in this forum along with all the looker/learners such as me take action. Please read the NRA position on the issue!!!! Can you being on a more personal level with ATF officials give your assessment of the general feels most are having on gun rights? On the concern yes... At first I wasn't too worried. Then I see the full page pic of our drum in
  23. They said they would credit the deposit back to my account...not at this time.If you purcahse from Vances Gun Shop please make sure you see the gun before money exchanges hands. I was offered an in store credit. I let the vance family know that I will contact the Attny Generals Office if they don't refund my deposit in full, we'll see what what they do...
