In the market for 47 I need some advice

Stay away from the $600+ unconverted Iz-132's. In the end the numbers don't add up. -

Bo Hamrick, the kid going to college? I hope this isn't true. Sincere condolences to his wife and family members. -

I find it interesting that you pointed this out. My Saiga-M has a 100 series folder installed by Legion and it is also is missing the lower rivet. Upon further inspection I noticed the rear trunnion doesn't have the hole machined out. Apparently the factory is producing rear trunnions that take only two rivets on each side. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? You can see an example of my build here... https://www.legionusa.com/russian-ak-47-saiga-izsl-mw-7.62-x-39-rifle.html

Now I know I am going to catch shit for quoting the huffington post, but this op ed I am about to post has been one of the best reads I have had on the topic of the sanctions since they have been enacted... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kimberly-marten/the-flawed-logic-of-russi_b_5896214.html "Western sanctions are harming the Russian economy, but that doesn't mean they will achieve anything the West wants in Ukraine. The Minsk ceasefire agreement benefits Russia much more than Ukraine, forcing Kiev to make political concessions while giving Moscow free rein on Ukraine's eastern border

Rusmilitary has vepr 12 bolt assemblies available for $300. -
It went bye-bye. What else is there to say?

Let me rephrase that, if I didn't have a shit ton of mags I would be all over it. You are right about cutting them down. That option completely slipped my mind. But since you asked, Alaska has very few gun restrictions and magazine capacity isn't one of them. Personal preference really... I wonder what's behind this price drop from multiple companies? Is SGM feeling the CSSpecs pinch?
-
Buy a couple and modify them. If they were ten rounders I would be all over it.
-
Dried up? You can find hungarian tanker mags at what-a-country and I believe apex as well. Yet they are a bit more than the $9 you paid.

I have never seen a 030 let alone any S12 with Maadi stock. I think you are onto something. Go ahead and ask what your local gunsmith charges although I am rather confident you can handle it yourself.

Shannon, If you need exact measurements I can get out the calipers.

http://news.yahoo.com/us-canadian-jets-intercept-8-russian-aircraft-232846452.html Routine, happens more often than you think. It also works both ways, we do the same to them. The difference is you never read about it in our newspapers. -

This is long overdue... Edited: And then a stickied thread describing the different 030/040 gas systems.

Ironwood hand guards for the S12 should mount right up. No mods needed with your Iz-433. While you are at it get their russian akm pattern stock and lets help you through the conversion process.

Legion has been sold out since the sanctions which has been about two months now. You are in luck! Molot version available at rusmilitary dot com. It's pricy but you must pay to play...

After seeing wagnikov's build you can add me to the "patiently waiting" list...

I am second guessing myself. So the question is will this stock mount up to a saiga 12 without modifications? https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=svd+wood+stock+saiga&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&docid=mjGo3pNSpZ0FIM&tbnid=jdri2t3OyyV46M:&ved=0CAcQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fkalinkaoptics.com%2Foriginal-svd-wooden-stock-w-cheek-and-plastic-handguards-kit-1987.html&ei=zaQUVL7pBMi6ogTd84CABw&psig=AFQjCNH0hnaMUbpa4NbuZykn5SBLnULZtA&ust=1410725356647775 Apologies for posting link to non member...

You have mentioned this a few times so lets put this one to bed. The gas tube length is the same on the 109's and the 030/040's. The differece will be in the hand guard retainers and the lack of a traditional rear sight on the 109's. I sent both you and wagnakov that link to the svd wood stock that's available. Are you concerned with it mounting up? I don't believe you should have any issues. Go ahead and post a picture here for a second opinion.
