  1. large flute muzzle breaks like the barretts have a very large recoil reduction I believe it was 40% It diverts gas to propel the gun forward knocking down the rearward recoil. If you simply added the weight of the muzzle break to the barrel it wouldent have any effect. It all depends on the break design.
  2. You and you alone are banned from owning a saiga. Never attempt to buy one or the gubberment black helicopters will fly over your house, the police will shoot your dog, and the swat team will buttstroke your grandma.
  3. do a 12in Its a lot less work, you can keep the stock length gas system(just drill the ports larger), and full length handguard. You only lose 100FPS at the muzzle from 18in to 12in. The pressure is lower on exiting the barrel so it wont blow apart the flight control/tap/superformance wads when they exit. The 8in-10in look cool but arent worth doing IMHO it dosent need to be that short, you lose a lot, standard remington buck throws a 40in DIA pattern at 10yards, the pressure is so high it blows the back of the flight control & similar wads apart. You cant use a choke. The gas pis
  4. watch out for those heavy subsonic rounds like the agulia. You should check your manual for the suppressor, see what it says and if it will void your warranty using subsonic. I know Gemtech only warrantys a few types of subsonic. The Agulia are longer than normal and your rifling may not stabilize it completely. You dont want a baffle strike on your suppressor.
  5. I know tony made one out of a pacnor blank, he did it to make a rifled barrel saiga. I dont think there is any other source of spair barrels. You'll have to make one, or contact someone who can make one. They arent the easyest things in the world to install either. You'd be better off having a second saiga.
  6. I knew someone would say something about the watch. Im tacticool like that.
  7. see what i started. I'd make the rail longer though Cameron, maybe cut slots all the way to the end so you can attach things on the end of the rail. You can see my hold on the handguard naturally puts the index finger lower and allows you to attach a taclight. I went with the novatac 120 because its shorter Aprox 3in long 1.020 DIA for mounting.
  8. i have a Q what is your end cost per round to reload? I cant see reloading as worth the time when I pick up a case of 250rds federal game load birdshot at 46.00 per case thats $4.60 a box .18 per round.
  9. movies and video games mostly. Its nice to shoot without hearing protection. I already have tinnitus.
  10. have you ever handled or used a thompson? I got to play with 3 real transferables over 100K worth of history. The stocks can rattle, slide back and forth a little. (this may have been from age). The gun weighs a TON you wouldent expect the weight of it. I was rather unimpressed with the much hyped tommygun. I'd rather have a Kriss super V, HK UMP, or even a .45 AR conversion. These guns are less than half the weight and ready for all modern optics.
  11. they are sold out and you have to add shipping. even those require fitting so why not go with a magwell for an standard saiga and cheaper mags? You'll save $900 on the gun and over $80 per mag.
  12. buy a R&R targets magwell or someone elses for that price. The 8rd russian magwell mags will be impossible to find and cost something like $200ea. Dont want.
  13. Will has been into pyrotechnics for years. I'm sure everything he did was on the up-n-up. not if he left explosives sitting arround unsecured over night which he admitted. Even if he had an explosives permit which I doubt thats not legal. BTW I use to be artillery check the avitar, we borescope cannons to make sure they are safe, then fire it with a 50ft lanyard on the first shot just to be safe. I like to think I know a little about cannons.
  14. i just sprayed mine degrease the parts like normal with hot soap and water then pre-heat the part and spray it as per the instructions. no problems with mine yet not sure if you saw this yet cameron its worth a look. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=61692
  15. a lot of big class 3 guys are on subguns. maybe thats why
  16. They made numerous mistakes calling the 37mm a "m203" and "grenade luncher" over and over. They paid $1500 for a 2-300 dollar flare launcher... They may want to check local laws on discharge of firearms and fireworks, i know its not legal in city limits here. They dident know how to build a m2 .50 cal, and dident know how to adjust the buffer to make it run properly. Then made themselfs look bad by allowing a show on it. Not good for an 07FFL. The cannon show they admitted to breaking laws. He said he rigged the building with tannerite the night before. Because of the legal loophole t
  17. silencers are fun and its nice to shoot without ear pro. I cant justify the cost of a silencer + stamp + threaded barrel for a .22LR but I'd get it for bigger stuff if possible.
  18. The problem with that is the mounting options, you'll need thread adaptors im not sure exist. It will be louder than a dedicated suppressor for that caliber.
  19. I took it out and ran a lot of different ammo in it to see what works. (I had a pile of random stuff, left over boxes) It cycles hornady TAP 8 pellot, 12 pellot rem. express, the 3in 12 pellot flight control, and win 1OZ slugs. It cycled some high brass fed birdshot not sure what it was. Oddly enough it wont cycle 9 pellot 00 winchester, or 16 pellot #1 It cycles the main ammo I use, flight control and TAP/superformance though.
  20. between izhmash shutting down and the ATF study panic buying... I bet they will sell out before anymore are manufactured.
  21. Everytime I have seen that it curls the barrel in.... All you have to do is take one of the handy deburring tools to remove that. You dont even have to make a slow cut.
  22. i'll take it in and weigh it tomorrow. I dont have a accurate scale here.
  23. Like i said before, redjackets version there isent any rifle magazine to hold onto when firing the shotgun. That must weigh a ton with a saiga on it. There is no place to put your hand on the bottom of the saiga reciever, you still have to be able to shoot the rifle, using the bottom of the reciever like a forend. Thats why I diden't use one. My masterkey started off with a 6lb aluminum reciever 28in barrel shotgun. Mine probably adds arround 4lbs as is. (which is still heavy) I also used a colt M16A1 barrel to cut weight.
  24. Your wrong. It's a registered short barrel shotgun the same as a KAC masterkey shotgun. The KAC pump is arround $2000 + stamp The pump action masterkeys suck, you have to reach way out where the muzzle of your rifle is to pump the forend. Not an easy task with the stock on your shoulder. the spring is arround the magazine tube. I did some reserch to figure out what shotguns could be used, most copy the browning A5 with the spring in the stock which is a nogo. I could have milled the back of the shotgun reciever but the trigger group cant be shortened more without
