  1. Nobody else got any input on this?
  2. GunFun, Thanks. I didn't think about the buffer. Seems like there is a lot of negative opinions about them for the S-12's. I'll pick one up. The thing I'm more concerned about is the carrier stem. Pauly told me that is the weak link in these things and to watch for hull ejection. Ideal is about four feet from what I understand. Is the Tac47 Autoplug the one to have?
  3. Saiga- gurus, Looking for some advice here. I ran about 200 rounds of centurion single ball through my S-12 yesterday. With the MD Vplug on setting (2) it would FTE about one out of six shots. The ones that did ejaculate only dribbled about one or two feet from the receiver. On setting (3) it's popping the empty out about 8' to10' with no cycling issues but it seems like that's a pretty violent ejaculation of the empty. There is a some evidence of contact with the rear trunnion block, not really mushroom kinda contact but it's leaving a mark. It's converted with Pauly's glass bol
  4. Here it is in a nut shell, factual representation of the facts and stuff. Anyone with half a brain can see the AR-47 is far superior to the AK-15 and I know cuz I know more shit about guns than half the guys at my work.
  5. Fully expected to open this to raging flame war. You fuckers are all civile and shit, what gives?
  6. Here it is after 10 plus cleanings with 3M brake cleaner.
  7. dosnt break klean strip the saiga paint a little Yes!!! I'm sure you're right. I just haven't really noticed any issue after four plus years of using it. If it takes a little paint each cleaning eventually I'll have an ecscuse to repaint. Besides I kinda like a battle worn look on all my AK based guns. It does remove carbon deposites and other crud better than anything I know of. I have to agree that if the cheap factory paint is your primary concern, don't use brake cleaner. I don't think it has any more or less effect on paint than Casey gun scrubber or break free solvent
  8. Bore Snake & 3M Brake cleaner from Napa. Best gun solvent out there. A light coat of ATF and its good to go. Gun solvents and lubes are a sham.
  9. PM sent, if he doesn't want it.
  10. #2 is the only way mine would even cycle anything when I first got it. I ran 300 plus high power rounds through it on setting #2 before discovering this site. Not that I would recommend it but no damage occurred to mine. Fortunately I live a few miles from Pauly and he helped me get it running great.
  11. This post was started six years ago????? Whoops, 8 years.
  12. Hey Soup, Where do you get those targets in your avitar? I'd like to get bulk pack. BTW $579.00 seems kinda high for a saiga.
  13. Great work, I especially like the heat marks on the Ti. handles.
  14. Thanks for the response. Forgive my ignorance, but what the hell is "CHEDDITE" ?
  15. I have never used any Centurion ammo before. I'm looking at the single ball stuff on line and can't tell if it has a regular crimp end or if it's a one shot and toss the hull deal. Any insight? Thanks
  16. A 12 ga. shotty with no recoil ? Isn't that kinda like sex with a chick that wont move her hips? It's still fun but ya go away thinking somethings missing.
  17. Try a local gun show. I see AK parts tables at every show. I would bring the bolt and check for fit. They usually have some plastic tubs full of miscellaneous parts you can dig through.
  18. I had to toss that plate and get a Tromix Shepard Hook. Not sure if the quantity of Vodka consumed by the builder the day mine was made had anything to do with it or what the problem was but the plate would not work. I put the Tromix Hook in and problem solved. I hear repeatable tolorances are not necessarily the strong point on these things.
  19. Anyone heard of gun damage from homemade wax slugs? I didn't really find anything with a google search. My cousin was screwing around with this when we were just kids and blew his 410/.22 mag over under wide open with a homemade wax slug. It was around thirty years ago and I don't know what kind of load he started with but I'll never forget the look on his face when that gun came apart in his hands.
  20. This is my only Yugo but I like it. M 70 in .308
  21. North Oregon coast range here, out in the woods.
