  1. Ok, first off, I don't want this to be dragged into the 'yes there will be a ban', 'no, a ban is not gonna happen' and so on. There are plenty of threads for that. But what I DO want to hear, is if there is a ban/when the ban hits, what parts should one stock up on? I was not an 'evil black rifle' owner during the last ban, so I am not experienced with that era, as far as weapons go. BUT...I am now the proud and happy owner of a few weapons that will absolutely make the list should/when the bans hits. I realize it is VERY dependent on how it will be written, but what items would be adv
  2. nope...not selling, but doing a little buying. Did see a apwn shop had a Saiga .223 for $380 cash...
  3. Oooooh me likey! Not a chance in hell that I have enough money for that tho. Gonna be fun to watch the bidding war develop.
  4. yup... same up here. Sportsmans Warehouse had ZERO AR's... local sporting goods were out too. The local specialized gun shops were out of everything but the oddball calibers... 6.8, .300blk, 5.45, etc. and not a rifle mag in sight, anywhere. The few places that have AK's on occasion were empty, and as I stood waiting to get my paperwork cleared I saw 2 S12's, 1 s308, 3 S7.62's and numerous other things being bought. Good thing I was mostly only looking - found a few things I wanted, so no complaints.
  5. NRA has updated their webpage... NRA STATEMENT 12/18/2012 The National Rifle Association of America is made up of four million moms and dads, sons and daughters - and we were shocked, saddened and heartbroken by the news of the horrific and senseless murders in Newtown. Out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency, we have given time for mourning, prayer and a full investigation of the facts before commenting. The NRA is prepared to offer meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again. The NRA is planning to hold a major news conferen
  6. love love LOVE my Colt 6920 MOE edition. But also going to go the lower route, and build an AR from the ground up, most likely in .300BLK, short barreled and suppressed.
  7. No selling off here... I've been looking! ButI did try to get some more ammo for a new handgun I got, and had to go to 4 different stores before I found what I was looking for since the others were all sold out. Also noticed a few empty slots on the gun racks too.
  8. wow.. NBC just reported that the shooter had KNOWN mental health issues. KNOWN.
  9. My god.... what the fuck is wrong with people today? a goddamn ELEMENTARY SCHOOL? Kids?!? I feel sick... both mentally and physically.
  10. I too am going to be looking, once I get my Saige, but its a .308 so I may look at the POSP. Actually, I do have a scope but I do not expect it to last... I got a Simmons 6x20 for $50, so I figured what the hell... it's be fun to watch it disintegrate! After it does, I may get the Nikon M-308 or look at the POSP
  11. MT, that's a great pic!!! And yeah... by the trailer the movie has strayed way far away from the awesome book. It may be a great movie, but not a great World War Z movie. Reminds me more of a 'I am Legend' sequel...
  12. Yup... 8 sucks ass. Tried the Beta awhile ago and will be sticking to 7 for as long as possible. And no Jugs... 8 is not just a Tablet S. Altho it makes any computer LOOK like a tablet. Might be fine if you have a touch screen, but with a mouse I found it very difficult to use. But then, I don't have a smartphone, don't have a tablet... so I'm not used to that style of interface.
  13. I'm in the thriving metropolis of Anchorage.. sadly enough. But unless you cruise the shops almost daily, it's hard to find the good stuff. I hear 'We sold out of those yesterday' all the damn time!! At least I scored a case of Federal 00buck, and not the low recoil stuff, recently. And the Ammo Can has a regular supply of surplus and production run cases of .223, .308 and 7.62 stuff. And with Cabelas finally opening up here, maybe there will be some more variety. But the next time I head to Homer I'll look around and see if I can find the Black Magic's tho. Gotta stop in Soldotna for a beer g
  14. You know, you're right. I tried the Hexolit and they did not work. They only worked in a stick mag, and I didn't want to carry one. I got some Brenneke, but not the black magic - didn't find those locally. I think they were a 'military tactical' slug... when I get home from work I'll see if I can remember to go look.
  15. www.wildwestguns.com Love them or hate them, they do make an interesting lineup of guns. hate 'em... not had good experiences with them personally. But their takedown 45/70 is a HUGE success up here. Most of the hunters and a few guides I know up here prefer a 45/70 for bear protection, but nothing beats being proactive. Lots of noise, staying out of dense underbrush, etc. I got my S12 with the idea of bear protection in mind, but I'm not doing it while hunting, as lugging all my hunting hear, rifle AND a S12 would be too much. But for ventures to the cabin and such, yeah, I'll
  16. Good replies... thanks! I've done both, but had people berate me for buying 'from the man' LOL. 'Dude, the ATF is gonna come knocking at 3am!' Sadly, finding deals here is not all that common - everyone seems to want way more than things are worth, and the good deals that ARE posted are usually gone in minutes. I do try to support 'the little guy' when I can, but it's not always possible. Just ask Tony Rumore - when he was here fishing with me, we hit a shop and they had a Saiga 308,and wanted $850 for it (unconverted, bone stock). I thought Tony was gonna have a heart attack when he saw
  17. question for y'all... when purchasing a new firearm, do you try to buy from a private party first? I know a number of things are too hard to get except from dealers, and usually online dealers, but does that keep you from buying? Form 4473 and all that... I mean, when Cuba/USSR invaded the US in Red Dawn #1, that was one of the first things they did, round up the forms at the local sporting goods store! (ha) But seriously, just wondering what everyone's opinion of the form, dealer purchases and how hard you look for a private seller before resorting to a dealer.
  18. Certainly.... Oh yeah, I just want a loader for 12 ga. Nothing fancy. Well, just found my reason to go SBS! (like I NEEDED a reason)
  19. Me... I want THIS: Works in conjunction with your electric door locks. Wonder if a S12 would fit!!!
  20. I bought 2 of THESE Probably larger than what you want, but it works great for me.... interior fits 4 20rd drums, or over 10 10rnd AGP mags (never counted exactly how many will fit). The outside pouches will not fit S12 mags, but they are molle compatible so you could remove them and put some that are on. I have them filled with AR mags, and when I get my Saiga 308 I'll see if those fit or outfit one of the bags with pouches that do fir the S308. They are pretty decent quality as I've had them filled past capacity and never an issue.
  21. please ask for pics of hot nakkid chics... please ask for pics of hot nakkid chicks... lets rock -n- roll!!
  22. 4 or 5 of the guys at my station routinely go to the range together about once a month. 'course, my stash is always the more sought after to shoot! And I'm the only one lugging a bunch of steel targets and crap for us to shoot. But I can't wait to up the ante a little more with my upcoming Saiga .308! No one here knows I am getting it - I plan to just bring it to one of our shoots.
