  1. Looks great! I'm sure you'll prefer the grip and trigger combo. . .
  2. Leadslinger, Where did you get those extended safety latches? I'm thinking I'll do this myself. . . JG
  3. Arizona Tactical Response has them. They have 2 different Bulgarian models for $25.00 + $6.50 shipping. That is where I got mine. Their ad says "same unit for 5.45, 5.56 and 7.62, but they lie. You need to bore it out to .40 for use with 7.62. My rounds were going all over the place and had lots of "splash" in the brake vents. Still, an awesome part for the price. Check the "Store" link then the "AK-47" link. Hope this helps,
  4. I picked it up and have really enjoyed reading through the articles. All the ads are for AR stuff, though. I thought that was a little weird with all the great AK accessories out there now. . .
  5. Years ago I had a very unreliable car and started an AAA membership in CA. Since moving to Texas, I've continued that membership and after way too may tows to remember, I've NEVER had a bad experience. I repeat, NEVER!! The drivers have always been considerate and helpful. You guys aren't using the right people. . .
  6. Available in San Antonio, TX, out near Sea World. Odd hours, though as I work 3rd shift Tues-Fri. I've done an x39 and .308, both basic conversions. I did the FSB on my x39. Also sporterized a Mosin for what its worth. . . John Gillaspy
  7. Linkage. . . The link where I found the photo I just looked around on the site until I found it under forearms. I should have included it in my previous post, sorry. . .
  8. Here you go, from the site you originally listed:
  9. Received my ultimak rail from tomcat fast and complete! I now only need to find the right optic. . . tomcat, it was a pleasure! JG
  10. Here you go - http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Texas+Weapon+Systems+&l=1 Hope this helps!
  11. Yes, the "non-conversion" Fusion T6 setup uses an FAL SAW grip, or so I have read. I have also read where others got it to work, but your best bet is getting the correct one. Be sure to update us with pictures when you are done!
  12. Looks very nice! Where did you get the AR-2-AK PG adapter?
  13. My deepest condolences to you and yours. My prayers go out to you and your mother. Keep her close during this time - you won't regret it. Ax-Man
  14. Well, here we go again. I read something on arf.com a few years ago about how all these guys by an AR than spend thousands of dollars on accessories and when it all comes down to it, they put it back the way it was. I thought, "Right, I bet." Well, this is not how it started, but more about how it was intended to be. With everything I put on my Saiga (the more Tacticool it became) the heavier and more unwieldy. So, back to the basics! With special thanks to Dinzag for the trade in parts! Muzzle Break - Bulgarian w/zigzag cuts from Arizona Response Systems FSB - Bulgarian style fr
  15. This sounds cool. I look forward to hearing how well it works!
  16. Tech Sights has one that replaces the rear half of the Recoil Spring and uses a modified Dust Cover. Kind of expensive for just a peep sight. . .
  17. The combathunting unit is designed for the 7.62x39, but it lacks the half moon or zigzag vents. My only concern is - Does it work? I have torn up both shoulders over the years and liked the light recoil of my T6 stock and buttpad. Just didn't like the look and where the weapon was going, so I went AK-103 style. So far I like it much better - points better and is lighter - but I want to spare my shoulder as much as possible without going to another buttpad. Ax-Man
  18. Thanks for the fast reply. Could you post pictures or a more detailed write up on the use of the puller? I'll have to buy one, so I want to make sure I get the correct one. You mentioned in your post that you used something to make sure the puller didn't "spread?" What did you do for that? I don't want to bung this up. I will be drilling out the pin holes on the new FSB and pinning mine, since my original was pinned. Is that not advised? Also, where did you get your brake and bayonet? Have you gotten your cleaning rod yet? If so, where? Ax-Man
  19. The items: 1. HOW THE HECK DO I GET THE SAIGA FSB OFF WITHOUT A PRESS OR TORCH (yes the pins are out)!!!!! Ok, I'm done venting now. . . But really I read others say it so simple, but not how they did it. . . Any reasonable advice considered. 2. Where can I get a made-for-7.62x39, AK-74-type, 24mm muzzle break for a reasonable price? I have 6 US, countable parts on my rifle (FCG, handguard, PG and stock) without my US-made magazines, so I can use an imported brake if I need to, but I can only find Krebs' and the one imarangemaster is selling, both at $75.00, delivered. I know combath
  20. I just spoke with the good folks at Texas Weapon systems and they should have the rear sight ready for shipment in 2 weeks. the rear sight adds $35.00 to the price, so $165.00 + S&H (quoted $7.00) for a final price, delivered, of $172.00. Out of my reach, but better than DPH Arms or Krebs. As long as the optic glass is between 1/4" and 3/8" above the rail it will co-witness. The peep sight uses the AK front sight, so you lengthen the sight radius as well. It certainly looks good. The guy I spoke with is testing on a .308 Saiga and it is holding zero just fine. The 2 allen screws in the top
  21. A couple of years ago I would have had to agree w/Devin in that article about silencers. Then I had a student in a class of mine from Great Britain where they hunt almost exclusively with silencers. He told me a story about him and a colleague going out to cull deer from a heard. Each of them armed with a bolt-action rifle (the only semi-auto they can own is a shotgun and then only if they own a farm) and were out on a day when the fog would roll in, then back out. When it rolled in, they would move up on the herd; when it would roll out, they'd shoot a deer (neck shots). They finally got
  22. Here is my brand new Armscor MAPP1-MS 9mm. I put 55 rounds through it today and I love it! The trigger is great SA, but needs work DA (heavy, long and gets harder as you pull). Came with 2 x 16rd magazines for $380 delivered (yes, I missed the sale @ CFS). Just a few photos of the new addition. . . I had an IMI Baby Eagle Compact in .40 S&W that bit me every time I shot it. I don't ever remember leaving the range w/out a blood blister on my trigger finger. Nothing of the sort with this baby! She's a keeper! Anyway, all I need now are a few more magazines, a holster an
