  1. Regarding MKA builds, I highly recommend getting a new forend with a left hand charging handle. That way, if there are any issues, you can keep your strong hand on the grip. My T&N level 10 forend is my favorite upgrade and I would recommend it to anyone with an MKA. Along the same lines, I would also upgrade the stock charging handle and mag release. I wouldn't risk fumbling around with the smallish stock control surfaces. Lastly, upgrade the safety detent so you get a nice crisp selection.
  2. Does it come pre-assembled or some assembly required? In a pinch, can it be converted into two stand-alone mags?
  3. That's pretty cool. Who dipped it for you?
  4. I can't remember where I saw that. It could have been from a conversation with a vendor or RAAC. Or I could have my wires crossed and be wrong all together.
  5. I've heard rumor that the BR99 won't be around much longer. Tale goes that it was literally built from stolen 1919 plans and the owners aren't happy. Besides, I don't think any of the aftermarket vendors are building parts for the BR99 anyway.
  6. Matt can speak for himself, but my guess is to protect the feed lips on the lower mag. They are finicky to begin with let alone dropping the monster on a mag change.
  7. Looks good. Keep us posted. I've never shot sabot rounds. How big is the advantage?
  8. Is that two factory 10 rounders in series? That's genius. I love the idea. Will you have a kit to add the useless 5 rounders to the 10 round mags?
  9. Totally agree. Out of the box it was so light it almost felt like a toy.
  10. I run coupled 10s but actually like the extra heft, although I wouldn't want to carry it all day like that. The short period I'm handling it on a 3gun stage doesn't bother me.
  11. There are lots of pics on this thread including mine. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/87240-show-off-your-mka-1919/page-4&do=findComment&comment=925503
  12. Lol looks like your muffs were about to fly off.
  13. Lol loved the commentary. I need him to film me during a match to take the focus off of my poor shooting!
  14. Very nice looking setup. What brake is that on your MKA?
  15. Thanks Matt. Best side-by-side comparison so far.
  16. Wow. I'm starting to understand what is wrong with America. People, we should be trying to build up a strong shooting community, not tearing people up for building practice targets.
  17. Other than the factory fore end nut, I never had any issues with the stock configuration working loose. I haven't heard any complaints about the new guide rod on here, but that doesn't mean much.
  18. +1 on the o-ring. But if that isn't good enough, a more expensive option is the T&N guide rod. It comes with a new fore end nut that has a common thread size.
  19. I'm sure that is true for most of the wives with husbands on here. Thanks again.
  20. Maybe I'm a little slow. Is that the price for me sending my gun to you for install and testing? Or just a new barrel that has the comp installed by you with me doing the install and testing?
  21. Thanks! Great info. May have to try it if no one brings it to market. I know drums aren't all that reliable, but they sure look awesome, especially next to a 20+ extended mag. To each his own...
  22. Do you have a working model? Care to post pics or video?
  23. Nice. I still wish it would work with a drum. I know it's been discussed already, but the MKA really needs a drum. Or maybe I have my "wants" and "needs" confused again
