  1. Anybody have one of these, I hear they are supposed to have all the bells and whistles, and having looked at them, they appear decent. Anyone have any experiences to share? TIA
  2. As I stated in some earlier posts, I have recently completed my .410 conversion. The hammer took some work with the dremel to get it to fit between the front bolt rails. When I rack the slide, it takes considerably more effort than any of my other saiga's, and with the top cover removed, I noticed when I let the bolt go it slows and wants to hang up on the face of the hammer and depresses the hammer again on it's way forward. Did anyone modify the face of the hammer at all?
  3. Thank you all very much for your input. I went down to the gunshop and an officer we know had purchased a 3AT new and then traded it for something else after 2 weeks and 150 rounds. I was able to talk to him prior to purchase and he said that he had no malfunctions. Soooo, I bought it for a little under $200 otd. I have shot S&B ball through it without any problems and couldn't be happier with the decision so far. Thanks for steering me the right direction.
  4. I know you were specifically asking about welding the holes shut, but honestly I seen no need for it. The black nylon 3/16" hole plugs from the local hardware store honestly match the finish perfectly, they stay in tight, and they look identical to factory rivets. All for around $2 and little effort.
  5. I am going to purchase a new compact carry gun in the next couple of days. I currently carry an HK uspc .45 but it is rather large for a compact and prints really well under tshirts. I'm debating between 3 different guns: CZ 82, Bulgarian Makarov, or Keltec P11. I don't really have any qualms about carrying 9x18 and with the 82 being C&R eligible and with 12 round mags, I'm leaning that direction over the Bulgarian. I also have the option to buy a Keltec P11 for $200. Any thoughts? TIA
  6. --> QUOTE(G O B @ Mar 27 2007, 10:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Check the front of the mag where it engages the reciever. I had to file one of the 10rd mags to fit/feed proprely when I got them. That was some time ago. Compare the mag that jams with one that works. I've determined my problem isn't a conversion issue, the first 2 rounds feed fine from the 10 rounder, then the 3rd round jams into the top of the chamber for some reason, if I remove the mag and push the round back down it works again for another couple of rounds. Maybe the spring needs to be weakened a bit?
  7. I just have a question about what your thoughts might be on the value of a gun. I have a Dreyse 7.65 pocket pistol with a good amount of blood pitting, but still functional. I have also have capture papers from the Army stating the date it was taken and giving the soldier authorization to return with the gun. I got an offer from a lgs for 150 or 200 in store credit. I was thinking it seemed reasonable. Any thoughts?
  8. I had my first opportunity to shoot using my 10 rounder yesterday. As everyone has stated, the Winchester bulk pack shot isn't worth anything, the shells deform instantly upon inserting them in the mag. The Federal bulk shot performed flawlessly and shooting was a blast. My S&B #4 buck showed signs of causing a possible problem but still functioned fine, when loading them into the magazine, the deformed a little bit at the roll crimp and I noticed it allowed the plastic circle that holds the shot in under the crimp to pop out from under the crimp, when I took the shell out to look at it
  9. I didn't do anything to the "wings" on mine as the new hammer was designed to work that way with the rest of the fcg. I haven't had any clearance problems and it funtions perfectly. I just grinded down the hump and I was done. I didn't have a bolt hold open to have to cut the axis pin hole for.
  10. I purchased one for my wife about a month ago, ok, I have to admit I purchased it because I wanted one, but the excuse was that it was for her for home defense;) I haven't got my wife to shoot it yet (she is also pregnant), but that's do to the fact that she is not in love with my gun addiction! In shooting it myself, I'd say that it recoils similar to a 7.62x39 AK, I've converted it with a collapsible Tapco AR style stock so that it would fit her a little better and I'd still be able to comfortably use it. I definitely think it's adequate for home defense. I'm confident my wife could hand
  11. I shot my freshly converted .410 this weekend as well using the same ammo and a new 10 rounder. I had a failure to feed about every 2 rounds. Now I just have to figure out if the mag needs some breaking in or if it's some sort of problem with my conversion. Everything is put together correctly. It looks like the factory 10 rounder has an ever so slightly different feed angle than the factory 4 round mag. One of the zinc plated shells somehow bent at the front of the case prior to chambering so much that it wouldn't even manually feed into the chamber. I shot this same ammo out of the 4 r
  12. Dangit, I could have used that for my daughter's hamster too! That little sucker made a home in the insulation in the side of my dishwasher. Took me forever to find it, heard it gnawing on a cheerio in it's new home a couple of days later and pulled the whole thing out and found it. Then it was smashed in a door a day later, but it was still alive barely so I took it outside and took care of it. Then the cat got hit by a car and just started hemorrhaging when it got inside the house so I had to put it down as well. Note: I don't just go dispatching my animals everytime they get injured, b
  13. Thanks for the post, I'm going to have to try this!!!! In my father's barn-converted workshop we had alot of mice turds showing up and decided to put the big blocks of poison in various places. To our surprise, the entire blocks were being eaten overnight. Turns out there was a raccoon living in the overhang, but we didn't know it because it crapped in the eaves. Finally caught that one after I placed a live trap to see what I could find. A couple of days ago he was working and heard banging around in the soffet (or however you spell it) and popped a piece up and it was another huge frea
  14. Item exactly as described, good communication, and fast shipping.
  15. I guess I will try it, can't hurt to put it in and see what it does. I just didn't want to end up paying $7.50 shipping for a $1.99 spring. I haven't taken it apart to mess with it yet, is it that the factory spring is too big to fit the circle on the trigger, or it's too big to go in the disconnector itself? Would it be possible just to bore the hole out a bit on the trigger?
  16. I purchased a Intratec DC-9 a few weeks ago, and contrary to all the negative comments I've heard, absolutely love this gun (aside from the sights) !!! However, I purchased the muzzle break that threads on and uses the backing nut to keep it tight and due to the shroud, have found it nearly impossible to get it tight enough to keep the sucker on while firing. Anybody have one of these that can offer any suggestions? I guess my next step is locite?
  17. I had a friend tell me I could use the spring from a clickable ball point pen and use it as the disconnector spring in my 308 G2 conversion. Has anybody tried this? It looks like it just might work, but I don't know what the dangers involved would be if it failed.
  18. Well, the title pretty much says it all. TIA

    handgaurd

You have to make it work, but it's not all that complicated, just use a sanding drum on your dremel and slowly enlarge the handguard retainer opening to fit around the larger barrel, that's all.
  20. A friend of mine has Duracoated his mags in OD Green, and they look amazing, almost like they were made that way. The duracoat is a very good finish and show's no signs of wear that I could see and it comes in numerous colors.

    Trigger Guard

I saw that Tromix sells their trigger guards on the site. I think they are weld on, but having not physically seen one in person, is there enough material to drill holes for bolts?
  22. old trick... try using a shoe tree (stretching to resize type) and perhaps leave it in the sun or hot trunk etc. to heat it up a little for a couple days. Good Idea, I'll give that a try.
