I'm not sure. I know that I was able to get a Vepr 5.56 magazine to fit and feed in a Beryl, so compatibility might go both ways. You might have some wobble though as I remember removing a fair amount of material from the Vepr mag to get it to lock in.

It has its own unique trunnion with a buffer tube coming off the back which means that you won't be able to us AK stocks. The tube is milspec though, so you can use any AR stocks that you like.

Royal Tiger Imports is blowing out their inventory of Beryl magazines. These are the current issue green translucent mags. They should work great in Saiga .223, SLR106, and of course Beryl rifles. $28.95 each or buy 10+ at $21.00 each.

Unless it's an amazing deal ($200 +/-) I would recommend saving up a little more and buying a Vepr or Saiga. If you're patient, you can also watch for upcoming reviews of DDI's Chinese shotgun, but I think you'll be glad you spent the extra money if you go Russian. KVAR has the fixed stock model V12s for $699.00. That's a shotgun that will last a lifetime, where the reports on the Furys don't seem very favorable.

You can do a Google search for RS Regulate BM-12. I have one and it's pricey, but perfect.

Why not? If you have standard Saiga in 7.62x39 the Zhukov will bolt right on. Am I missing something?

There are some rock and lock S12s that came in with a factory LRBHO. I'm not sure if that's what he has, but if so they will only function with special factory LRBHO magazines that are nearly impossible to find. This system actually makes it so that some standard S12 mags won't even function in the gun without modification.

There's no guarantee that either rifle will be available to purchase new again. KVAR/FIME has announced that they will be the new importer of Veprs so there's a chance that the IV could come back in stock, but there are no guarantees when it comes to imports. We've likely seen the last of the SGL31s unless something drastic changes on the political scene. To me, this is really going to boil down to which rifle you prefer to own. I don't know what they paid for them when they were imported, but they used to be $150.00 a few years ago. Even sellers like Legion USA and the forum store have sold them for comparable prices. These businesses are not gougers so I'm guessing that after covering all import costs, these still probably cost these stores $60-$80. I'm just speculating though. With all that said, they are still by far my favorite magazines and I wish I had more of them.

That's weird. I would have bet money that it was just an inside issue. It's just a function of looking at it with indoor lighting. I had the same concern but if you take it outside you won't see it at all.

Have you considered the Zhukov hand guard and Ultimak combo? The Zhukov is pretty heavy but makes for a solid and functional front end. With these two parts I can't think of anything that you couldn't mount to the rifle and you won't have rails where you don't need them.

That looks great! Is it a chop and perm to 16" or an SBR? I would expect that after spending that kind of time and money on a rifle that you would want some quality mags to go with it. Any plans to pick up some CSSpecs mags?

These would be really cheap to set up on a perimeter trip wire. I would see it as a short term solution as you would need to change them out every time it rains, but if you're dealing with javelinas, you're probably not seeing much rain. Hopefully it would only take one or two startles to make them associate your property with an unpleasant experience. You can get 72 of them for $5 at BudK. How big is the area that you need to keep them out of? I'm just throwing out hair-brained schemes off the top of my head for fun, but I wonder if you could rig up some deterrents via motion detectors. Maybe sprinklers modified to spray wildly with high pressure, or loud but short running alarm sound? I'm mostly familiar with these critters from 'Ol Yeller so I don't know if things like this would phase them, but if you can succeed in startling the shit out of them every time they cross the perimeter, they might choose to feed elsewhere.

It would be a good exercise for you to learn how to completely disassemble your bolt. It's not at all difficult and will allow you to thoroughly clean it out and not have to worry that you have leftover gumout or other substances stuck in there. Hoppes or CLP will work fine at that point and you'll learn more about how your gun is put together. Get out a little container to hold your pins and other small parts as they are prone to disappearing if you bump the table. As me how I know.

This is a great optic. I'm not sure if you've owned one before but with all the features, specifically the battery life, it's a hell of bargain. I've bought four of them so far (one as a gift) and am very happy with them. I have owned the previous models and love being able to leave this one on full time without paying Aimpoint prices. Aimpoint may theoretically have the edge in durability/reliability, but that's almost a moot point with a QD mount to get rid of the optic in a bad situation and Primary Arms awesome warranty and customer service backing it up.
