  1. I wouldnt suggest using a dremel. If I was doing it I would use a file by hand and only as much as necessary to clean up the peened/displaced metal. You dont want to remove ANY of the base metal.
  2. I dont think the deformation your seeing is a safety concern. I meant that even if you were able to source a new bolt, I would continue to run the original bolt until it was completetly worn, snapped or developed a condition that would be considered unsafe. Theres no point in putting wear on a new bolt if the original continues to function properly. And there definitely no point in running the new bolt until you figure out what is causing the deformation of the original bolt. You mentioned the complete bolt in your other thread, along with a recoil assembly. If I had to take a guess
  3. Tonys response makes sense to me. Mike Rogers or evl might have suggestions also. I would be very cautious with the new bolt youre getting and would only hand cycle with the new bolt until youre sure the issue is resolved. You can use lay out fluid or a sharpie to mark the bolt and after hand cycling check to see if youre getting abnormal wear. Personally I would look at Tony's suggestion but I would also look at how the bolt interacts with the carrier. I would really hate to see you trash a bolt because there was more to the problem than just the stem being worn. 2400 rounds is sig
  4. Can you get a pic of inside the trunnion (where the bolt locks up) and the face of the trunnion (looking straight at it towards the bore)? That bolts hitting something on the way in. Does the aft facing portion of the ejector block look like its getting struck? Hows the the channel inside the carrier looking (section that makes the bolt rotate)? Have you had issues with the bolt going into battery? If you hand cycle it can you feel the bolt hanging up hard on the way in?
  5. The only part of the recoil assembly you would ever realistically need would be the recoil spring, CSS has those all day for cheap. The bolt your looking at over $200 easy. R&R's bolt was selling for $275 and theyre not availible anymore. For a factory bolt? Id say at least that if not more, not many people are letting bolts go. Imo the bolt is a good spare to have.
  6. Sick! Man thats a hell of a combo, they are both beautiful!
  7. The ejector block is riveted in, its not something youre gonna swap out in the field..if you can even find one. About your only chance of getting a spare is finding someone parting out a S-12. The S-12 parts diagram doesnt even list it as a part. https://www.cornellpubs.com/diva/divaPOP/divaPOPgold_img.htm?i=https://www.cornellpubs.com/Images4/saiga-semis.jpg&c=&a=Saiga Semi-Automatic Firearms Manual, EAA Corp.&h=1&n=1&x=&s=15 According to the parts diagram, it looks like it is considered integral to the rec
  8. Nice! Thanks for the range report. Keep us posted. The manufacturer states on their website that there will be a break in period.
  9. Given that info, your right he probably has. They might have banned him from using one..unfair advantage lol. Jerry seems like a great guy and all but on his youtube channel there was at least one video were he seemed to have fallen victim to the anti Russian propaganda. He doesnt seem to hold Kalashnikov based weapons in high regard. Either way, I know he could outshoot me using a bolt action v.s. me using a semi! The man is an incredible shooter.
  10. Please post up your findings! This KS-12 looks real promising and may be the next best thing to a Russian S-12? If this turns out to be the case, then the sanctions really havent changed anything as far as S-12 availibity is concerned. Where theres demand..the gaps will be filled by those wanting to make $$$
  11. Beautiful work evl! That "krink" styled one is sick. I dont believe this spets-12 is going to be comparable to a tuned S-12/V-12 built by a craftsman such as evl, Tony, Mike Rodgers etc..but I am glad to see more options being offered. I was hoping the tac-47 auto plug was going to be the solution to manual adjustment with reliability and DC. Durability, lack of fragile parts (o-rings, rubber seals etc..), manueverability, furniture/accessory options, the ability to be shortened while retaining capacity, the ability to have a folding stock and function, the most standardized m
  12. Initial reports describe typical "problems" running light loads. If that is a "problem" is dependent on what your intended use is. 10/22's have "problems" running light (intended for bolt guns) .22lr loads but you dont hear people crapping on the 10/22. At least in the S-12/V-12's case..they were not designed or intended to be run reliably with the cheapest superlight loads. Thats an expectation that users of the cheapest bulk pack superlight loads came up with (aka plinkers and competitors); whos intent is to dump large quantities of cheap rounds fast and with the least amount of recoil
  13. The reports I have seen so far (given it is still early in the game, and given its not hand built and tuned by a craftsman) have looked promising. If you felt the need to..this can be stamped and sbs'd ridiculously easy. Even china is capable of producing top quality items if the demand is there and pricing is adjusted accordingly. You better believe their millitary equipment for their own use is built to spec. What Id really like to see is K-USA offer a comparable "firearm" configuration of their K-S12.
  14. Copy that, thank you sir. I was suspecting that using two of the same mag latches would be the way to allow the mags to interchange and fit/function properly between the two. Fit mags to V-12 then copy to latch to be installed to S-12 is how I would probably attempt it. Its good to hear that the difference in angle of presentation hasnt caused feeding issues as well.
  15. You're right its definitely a conspiracy theory. First they used oblama to spook the mag/accessory manufacturers with sanction talk, now theyre flooding the market with sooooooooo many damn new compatible models you cant even keep track. Its a form of psychological warfare where there is so many options your brain becomes scrambled and thinks there is no options (similar to 2 is 1 and 1 is none). The sick part is, CSSPECS and CSS must have had insider trading intel cause they stuck it out while everyone else was bailing. Its obviously a co conspiracy theory between Trump, Putin, CSSPECS and CS
  16. How much material (approximately) did you have to remove from the magwell? Was it a drastic amount? Did you remove material from just the inside front wall of the magwell or front and back walls? What all else did you have to do if anything to get the V-12 mags fitted and to lock up in your saiga? Latch work etc..? Do the same mags run in both your V-12 and S-12 (meaning no fitment issues between the two using the same mag/mags)? Considering the different angle that a V-12 mag presents a round v.s. a S-12 mag, have you had feeding issues? I agree the biggest hurdle with fitting
  17. You shut one crackhouse down..another pops up to fill the gap. S-12/V-12 junkies. Latest S-12 clone in 13" braced "firearm" form. "-13 inch 2 ¾ and 3” chambered chrome lined barrel threaded for all Saiga 12 accessories.-Uses all Saiga 12 magazines and drums." Damnit I just dont know how these companies can keep screwing up and releasing more and more S-12/V-12 clones! Didnt they get the memo that "the S-12/V-12 market is dead"? Are they too braindead to realize that the best time to pull out is just as popularity and multiple compatible models are taking off? To the poi
  18. "Licensed", that could be good news! I would hope they wouldnt license a product without including some type of quality expectations; to protect the brands reputation etc..
  19. Synthetic cordura with semi rigid kydex reinforcement between layers and a alpine austria "cobra" quick buckle. Easy on, easy off and will not sag, stretch or twist; no holes for buckle to get deformed and can easily be adjusted for weight loss/gain. Only downside..(based on opinion and what you normally wear) is they wont be confused for a regular belt worn with dress pants etc. If you wear your shirt untucked it wouldnt really matter though, as you wouldnt see it.
  20. Half black "president". lets not forget hes cousins with george bush, dick chenney and brad pit among others leading back to british royalty. Believe it, theres a reason why he was placed into the position. We lucked out with Trump because hes rich, well known and popular enough to completely expose how they control elections. If they would have stole the election from him it would have been obnoxiously obvious and there is no doubt Trump would would have used all his resources to prove it and completely expose their scam. Ultimately if that would have happened it most likely would h
  21. Damn it!! Who forgot to send the memo that the S-12/V12 Kalshnikov based semi 12g market is dead?? Just think of how much better off they wouldve been if they got the memo in time to throw in the towel, scrap the project and cut their losses! Somebodies definitely getting fired. Now they're going to have to work double time to get a ill balanced, unecessarily heavy, pump action abomination to market; if they want to have any hope of being down with real operators who operationally operate operations and stuff. This has to be a conspiracy theory. Just in..cnn reports that they have obtaine
  22. Thats the point, Decimate the threat in shortest amount of time and with the least amount of effort. Pistols are generally more accessible/easy to store/easier to handle due to size, within reason (factoring in caliber etc). Grandma might not be able to handle a 12g but she probably can handle a .22 pistol. A rifle would be ideal at longer ranges or vs multiple armed attackers. Shotguns traditionally have been extremely popular for home defense due to effectiveness in close quarters and availibility, the relatively new trend of braced rifle caliber pistols could inspire a shift in trend towar
  23. Ive not seen it done before but I would think that it wouldnt take more than just installing a bullet guide?
  24. Idk maybe people believe the myth of "S-12/V-12/clone market is dead". Doesnt make any sense considering the fact that there are many times more Kalashnikov based mag fed shotguns both on the street and for sale than ever before. Theres so many on the market and planned for release that its hard to keep up with all of them lol. They are mostly if not completely compatible with S-12/V-12 parts, mags and accessories. I guess the manufacturers of all these Kalashnikov based shotguns didnt get the memo that the "market is dead" lol. I believe the biggest factor may be that most if not all Kalas
