Hrm. Thanks for the info. However, I have a line on an affordable 7.62X39, so may go that way for now. I assume you can easily modify the Saiga 7.62SX39 to take standard AK mags? WYK If you don't mind adding a bullet guide (see dinzag ;>), the Weigers are apparently available in the 'bullet-guide-required' form here, for $25.99: http://www.tickbitesupply.com/davids1.html Look for the "East German AK223 new mags" about half-way down the page. If you are going to buy more than one or two mags, I would recommend that you consider installing a bullet guide, so you can

BTW, I looked at the groups on the target and the box. Did you notice all the vertical stringing? You may want to take a little more time between shots to allow the barrel to cool, and make sure there is as little pressure on the barrel and forearm as possible. WYK

Thanks for the info. I am considering ordering one with the built in weaver mounts so I can move it from weapon to weapon. WYK

I am looking at their scoeps, and very interested in this one: http://eastwave.ca/products/scopes/posp8x42w.html Obliged, WYK

Thanks for the info. So is there a good source for these? I assume you play a bit with them to get em to fit? WYK

Uh..this is the 223 forum... Got a Saiga 223 mag link for me? WYK Rusmilitary.com The one that says "7.62x39 Saiga magazine." The item below the RPK mag and above the Bakelite mag.

The Ak 101 mags specifically? WYK Rusmilitary.com

Wow, so I assume it fits with no mods? Where can ya get those? WYK

What confuses me is why she puts up with those suppressors. They obviously are defective - look at all the muzzle flash. WYK So she can flex her sexy little abbs for the camera! DUH! (I was thinking the same thing.)

No, on the top. The 223. Or is it an AR mag? WYK In the SKS? Standard detachable 30-rounder. Not sure on the manufacture, though, if that's what you're asking.

I use Lapua brass, culled by weight, for my bolt actions. If it's gonna ding em, I'll be looking for a different type of brass to use for reloading. So who has the best price on a skeleton stocked 308 right now? WYK

Is that a mini 14 or Norinco mag? What od you need to do to get it to work? WYK

When he states heavier barrel in that article, he means thicker, not just longer. A thicker(walled) barrel will absorb more heat and vibrate less, and have less harmonics. The longer the barrel for a given diameter, the less rigid it is, and more likely to vibrate. WYK

Drop in as in it works without relocating the trigger group? WYK

Reloader 15 is one of the best powders for 308. It's accurate and consistant. So how does the Saiga 308 treat the brass? Is it easy to reload it, or does it rough em up some? WYK

Anything as unscientific as the BOT is basically "Hold my beer and watch this". It's just a bunch of untrained people doing 'research' under uncontrolled conditions. The info from that sight is all but worthless. You'll note they didn't put anything behind the magazine to show what damage the exiting rounds might do - they only speculated. There were no recovered bullets to show what the impacts did to the bullets. They did not chronograph the bullets before and after impact to show the difference. You'll note they only shot at the magazines at a 90* angle, which is only a small percen

As long as it only has the thumbhole stock, it is in a compliant configuration. It's up the the buyer to toss on the non-compliant stuff. I like the stock because the cheek rest works well with a scope, it is light, sturdy, and I don't have to perform a hack job on my rifle to make it into an AK look-alike. SOME people actually buy this gun BECAUSE it doesn't look like an assault rifle. Some people actually just use it to hunt with. I'll use my select fire HK 53 as my 'bug out gun'. WYK But yeah it sucks that some dealers are going to sell them (Killimall on Gunbroker) in uncom

Do the Russian/Czech/Belarusian scopes with the integral mounts place the scope in line with the barrel? Are they solid? I am looking to do some shrot range varmint hunting - coyote and prarie dogs at <200 yards. WYK
-
Thanks! What scope mount are you using? WYK

I'm wondering what those scoped 223 Saigas can muster at 100 yards? WYK

Where's a good place to get that 'low mount'? WYK The eye cups are soft rubber and will easily give with recoil, and they are long enough that you won't get a shiner. here's a picture of my 308 with belirus low mount and 54mm scope.
