  1. Bump for Indy's beautiful satire. If I received money each time I was asked if the Saiga-100 could take BAR mags, I could build a new rifle that could take BAR mags.
  2. NO there is NOT room enough to modify the rifle for a BAR mag. And due to the design of the BAR mag, you cannot remove enough material to get it to fit and have the feed lips still function. YES, it WOULD be easier to add an extension to the factory mag. The magazine body rim described above makes this possible with the S-100 whereas it was not possible with the S-308.
  3. Seller is checking shipping quotes. I proposed a shipped price for simplicity, but he wants to have all his numbers on hand. He's been very gracious to me with patience, so I'm fine with him taking the time he needs. Looks like we have a clear 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in line here.
  4. That's just plain sick! Why would any reasonable person ever want a barrel 8 inches long??? That's good for nothing but killing children in a schoolyard! That barrel should be at least 12 inches long, like my pistol build, because my opinon and tastes are all that matter. I hope that the thought police ban that from each person's mind! Ok, now for my real thoughts - I think it's a great innovation, especially the rail integrated to the gas block and front site. But I don't see the point of that much rail or an angled handguard rail on something with that short a barrel. That scout ra
  5. I would be interested in one or both if they are complete stock sets including handguard. I'll pass if they're just the buttstocks.
  6. If you want something different in the way of stocks, give me a holler. I have styles designed for maximum "tacticality" while appeasing both the parts count and the style restrictions.
  7. Excellent pics, RM9! I'm always honored to see the final project people use my styles of furniture on. Hard maple and curly maple are sure options, curly maple I'd have to check on from my old source. Other curly woods may be an option. I'm a fan of the straight grains myself.
  8. No, not all Saigas are banned by name. The ones imported under the Kalashnikov name are, but the EAA and RAAs are fine to own. Keep in mind that this is only for rifles. CA banned all simiauto shotguns that use a detachable magazine. REALLY? That's news to me!
  9. Interested. Can you report on its usage history and performance? Would also like to see a side view that better shows what type of handguard and muzzle attachment it has.
  10. Funny, do they post the poll results anywhere?
  11. Will36 took the time to make sure he was ready to buy the item I listed, waiting while another buyer jumped the gun on committing and then discovered he wasn't ready. Will36 was great with communication and took care of his end in good order. He was pleasant do deal with as we worked out the details and arrangements. Deal with confidence, everybody. I would gladly deal with him again.
  12. I hit the poll. Funny how they don't show the poll results.
  13. Glad everything worked out for you. I'm surprised at the mention of trigger slap, I've never seen that with a G2 trigger group. FTEs are not unheard of breaking in an unfired Saiga-20. Maybe try the different gas port settings?
  14. I don't think a Saiga-410 with some sort of fixed mag conversion would be easier to load than a tube fed pump. I do believe Saigas are banned by name in CA, so you would have to have it re-built on a non-CA-listed receiver.
  15. With the 32" heavy barrel, I think recoil would be practically nil even without a brake.
  16. Would be interested in 10x 5rders for $150 + actual shipping, and if 2rders are an option then a couple of them too. This is firm pending verification that your offer is firm, ie I would not pay without guarantee of delivery. Now I just need to get an S-12.
  17. They do come ready for the finish of your choice. I can also taylor any style to your preferences. Want a less "grippish" grip, all you have to do is ask. Would this type of buttstock... And this type of handguard... Be more to your liking?
  18. I think there are bipods, or bipod mounts out there that can attach to a picatinny rail. Even a sling swivel stud is a bipod mount.
  19. The FN FS2000 has the forward ejection, but I haven't read any reports of its performance. What I've read about Kel-Tec's bullpup is that it has plenty of metal where it needs it. From what I've seen, it has a tilt locking bolt like a FAL, which would need plenty of receiver to sustain the bolt thrust. What really perks my interest is that they have a 32" barrel available. If I went bullpup, it wouldn't be to get a small rifle, it would be to get a long barrel in a manageable length. I am really looking forward to seeing that video on a compliant system...
  20. I had a certain impression of its smoothness, ergonomics, balance, and general quality that would have to be qualified by real experience. If I had a chance to handle and fire both Sig and Saiga-308 side by side, then I suppose I'd have place to talk.
  21. Oh, and for those who haven't been watching the Saiga-100 threads in the general discussion forum, this may be the first wood stock set for the Saiga-100 in the world. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=14801
  22. I'd say can-do on that, but I'll need you to give me the info I need. Please E-mail to my screenname at hotmail with the dimensions of what you want and the attachment points.
  23. It is cheaper to convert than to go 922 compliant in the sporter config. Balance that with the work required for the conversion, and economically I think it's an even trade. So the bottom line is having what you really want.
  24. I listed my name prefix as "Mr" and the thing listed me as female.
