  1. At least it would support a US industry and give CA the big financial boost the "Governator" is asking for. Heck, besides porn and guns what else is there to do on the net?
  2. The PT92/99 are great, never tried the 24/7. A Beretta done the original way (with frame mounted safety/decocker) and much cheaper. Taurus took over the original Beretta factory tooling after the Brazilian army contract for the model 92 was done. Manufacture and function are essentially the same. There is a small size difference in the trigger guard dimensions so yout Taurus may not fit Blackhawk's CQC Serpa holster right. Otherwise it has fit all the standard Beretta holsters I have tried. Magazine capacity is 17+1 and they can be bought from Arizona gun runners under the Mec-Gar brand f
  3. Yeah, PSL is a fun gun an just looks damn sexy. Ok, I can't afford a Tigr so this is the best I can do. I got a Kalinka 8x POSP scope for it, very nice so far. I used to have one of the Tennessee Guns kit builts but sold it of years ago, just got the PSL-C within the past year or so. The Cugir built gun has much nicer wood and the spring loaded recoil pad actually work now ( the TG build was stuck). Mine also has a bayonet mount and all the extras (except the dreaded third pin hole for FA capable guns). Need to try out that can of 7N1 one of these days. BTW, has anyone tried the Norma lo
  4. Hi folks. Been exploring the possibility of major decline in component availability and casting my own bullets. It has come to my attention recently that free lead supplies are readily drying up. No longer do local tire shops let you have cast of balance weights for free or minimal charge, it seems they are no longer allowed to do that due to EPA regs. The one obvious source is mining the berms at your local range (SWAT magazine just did an article on that). Does anyone have any other good sources for this "strategic" material? It seems the safer our government makes our world the more d
  5. I am not sure if any of you have seen it but lots of gun rags recently have discussed making your own .22 bullets for the .223/5.56 platforms using .22LR cases as jacket material. The initial cost outlay seems excessive, $1000+ but the then again you get peace of mind and security knowing you wil be able to feed your platform if the bullets cease to be. I just wondered if anyone here has considered this or has any experience in with this. I am onthe fence about it now but it could be a useful thing to have.
  6. His biases against some primers is totally unjustified. I have used the primers he tells us to avoid without any issues. Let's face it, he screwed up once an now blames the primers. If you pay attention (that means no TV, no radio, no distractions, period...) to what you are doing you will avoid any problems. I use a Dillon 550 progressive now due to the volume I shoot (30K+ of 9mm/yr) but I started with a Lee Challenger anniversary kit years ago. I still keep it for depriming military brass or loading rifle rounds. BTW, buy other loading manuals too, they offer load data for various stuff
  7. At least they did not name you "BGL", that would have been bad. I lost a someone I knew in college that way, but in his case it was a mid air collision during a dive. Glad you made it.
  8. The WAC gunnews just did a piece on him and ho he failed t show up for the meeting. Maybe he will just dry up and blow away like the pile of s*** he is. There are reasons I do not like to venture into Seattle.
  9. Seems all douchebag politicians have a felon in the woodpile. Comes with the job. After all, cheating and lying is in their blood, how else coudl they get elected?
  10. Looked at ammoman last night, they are still selling 640 rnd spam cans of Wolf 124 gr JHP 7.62x39. Otherwise it is a bleak market. I am glad I bought stuff while the shopping was good. Still a bit short on .308 though.
  11. I love it! That's such a great line. Too bad it's true. Laugh while you can Monkey Boy.
  12. Yup, very addicting....Very. Got about 80 now, told myself I would just get one a decade ago.
  13. Yup, that is it. I just do not have a scope mount. That is the stock I have. And I now also have the classic wooden M14 stock. After reading the posts here will keep both. I do not believe high end stocks will make me a better rifle shooter. There is only so much technology can do with failing eyesight and middle age.
  14. Chinese. Nope, Made in the USA. Bought it from Blackjackbuffers. The upper and tube are one unit. I had to do minor dremeling to make it fit. http://www.blackjackbuffers.com/index.php?...products_id=219 Could not find it. The link sent me to a upper handguard /gas tube only. Your set up was not to be seen.
  15. CZ-75B, CZ-75 SP01, CZ-75 Compact, CZ-83 (in both 9 Mak and .380), HP-P7, XD-9 Service, XD-9 Tactical, S&W M&P9 and Taurus PT99. Did I miss anyone? Those are all great carry guns. I also have carried SIG 226 , HK USP and HK P2000. Did not like the triggers on those and they tend to be fat in feel too. I am a known Glock hater so I won't even mention those, even though I shoot them well. Have enough choices yet?
  16. Think they will ban my WWII vintage assault Mauser 98s or Mosin-Nagants? They mount bayonets after all and can fire mutliple rounds as fast as you can cycle the bolt. Maybe I should research a 30 round detachable magazine for them. I am sure Tapco will make the necessary evil pistol stocks soon.
  17. How much and where can you get one? Looks good, please give a range report.
  18. I used a hobby rasp and file to slightly cut down the extension dimensions so it slid in easily and yet was snug. If you do this sort of fitting, go slow and bit by bit for a good fit, if you take off too much material the stock will wiggle. Bad juju. I used a Warsaw length stock for easy of use in tight places, when wearing heavy clothing and such. Good luck on your conversion.
  19. WOW!! Talk about bad luck. Hope it shows up in one piece and soon. Sorry about giving you grief earlier about it being in car.. Yeah we have a few ads in the local gunshow newsletter every month listing guns stolen at the show (probably out of cars, I never asked) . Never a good thing, and it gives gunshows a bad rap. Maybe we should do with gunthieves as was done with horsethieves a hundred or so years back, give them a rope necktie. Well, lets hope this one ends well.
  20. The NRA also has the Armscare Plus plan. I use it, no need to send info unless it gets stolen I guess, never had to use it yet. Tried homeowner's insurance (MetLife) but they told me I would not be allowed to take guns out of safe, too much risk for them. Go figure. That was after they first asked if guns are worth anything. LOL.
  21. I'm not sure where the misconception that an EMP is some magical physics defying force came from. It's an electromagnetic wave, just like radio wave, just like light, just like X-rays. It travels at the speed of light. It cannot appear everywhere at once -- this is a fundamental violation of the laws of physics. It may *appear* to by virtue of moving so quickly. Assume for the sake of argument that an EM wave will travel through air at 1X per second (X is an arbitrary unit of distance here). Assume also that EM will travel through copper at 1.1X per second. Say that your Faraday cage is 10 fe
  22. Wolf is generally safe to use. Now if you were using a PSL or Dragunov with the 7N1 ammo or a AK-74 with the 7N6 you may have trouble. Both of those are steel cored penetrator rounds and could be ruled as armour piercing. You can still get them in some places as surplus in the big spam cans. But most any modern commercial stuff from Wolf or Barnaul is only steel jacketed. Most people who work at ranges know diddly about guns and ammunition, not all but most.
  23. I have seem many guns that are not 922r compliant at gunshows and even at my local dealers shop. When I warned them they just ignore it. Most of these guns are bubba gunsmith jobs that look awful. Seems many people are ignorant of 922r or think it expired with the 94 AWB. I go through great pains to make my guns legal. I suggest we list manufacturer parts that are not 922 compliant like Leapers/UTG and CAA. I have seen many pictures here with parts form those manufacturers on them and I am not sure the builders are aware they broke the law. CAA is the worst as people like them due to the
  24. I think it is a standard with the black stock. Got it used. Has match front sight but regular rear peep. Polymer/fiberglass stock has rubber butt pad. Carbon steel barrel with parkerizing. Used to have the scope mount attachment in the rear but dealer wanted it and I wanted stripper clip ability for reloading too. I shoot better with iron sights anyway. Thanks for the input.
