  1. if you look into the mag well there is a gap between the front trunion and the receiver, i'd use that.
  2. The letters from the BATF tech branch state otherwise.
  3. The Saiga is also under the 922R ruling, regarding imported Semi automatic rifles and shotguns. For an imported rifle or shotgun to have ahigh capacity magazines, bayonet lug, flash hider, pistol grip etc... it must have ten or less foreign made parts. In short the AWB has Jack Squat to do with ANY imported semi automatic rifle or shotgun.
  4. HOORAY! We Corrupted Another One!
  5. Bear in mind, most of the benelli line isn't "evil" like firearms built on the AK platform. It's not about laws so much as it is about politics.
  6. well, for the record, this makes 12 shots of jager, and 3 beers, feeling damn fine!
  7. Amen, I'll drink 'em as shots, or make 'em up to fill a pilsner glass and have 3 of those around the campfire.
  8. obvuiosly beer and steak is best (anyone ever visited a Hereford and Hops?) but out ofthe two options?
  9. Ok, my brother and I had a debate today, he says beer and pretzels is best, while I say beer and chips. I decided (after a few drinks), that I should ask you folks what you prefer, that should put this little debate to bed! edited cause i acnt frickin type!
  10. My buddy just got one of those too, very nice and accurate rifle. I think an AR15 is in my future now.
  11. I see on Auction arms, there are two RPK's that arent really rpk's and they are going for $650-$800, so I'd say buy it!
  12. Looks to me like you are taking two perfectly effective weapons, and making them near useless.
  13. I dunno, 1300 clams is a lot of cash to punch holes in paper. Not that I don't want one
  14. Midget with an assault rifle. Run for your lives!
  15. Well guys here it is, it rained yesterday, so no range report. thanks for the advice.
  16. Ok, i took my converted rifle apart, and got measurements for ya, they are in inches. hopefully the pic attatches, and you can read it. saiga_receiver.bmp
  17. It would also be very hard to find the propper trigger guard and FCG, most saiga FCG's get rilled apart to get the disconnector spring out, and the trigger guards usually get re-used.
  18. www.k-var.com should have everything you'll need. I'd also recommend doing the conversion yourself (if you have the tools) and saving the money for ammo, mags, optics, whatever. It is really quite simple.
  19. So, I just shot one of these yesterday, and now I want to buy one myself. The local Gander Mtn. has a used one for $289. It's chambered for 9mm, and looks spotless. Have any of you used this gun, and what did you think of it, would/did you buy one, and would you buy one again? Thanks
  20. I bore snake my x39, but i've heard of people dissasembling the rifle, putting the parts in the back of a pickup and taking it to a drive through car wash, and there is also the soak overnight with Break-Free, hose down, then oil method. Personally, I wouldnt want to risk rusting anything with the latter methods.
  21. Olympic is the only ammo i will never again feed my Saiga. Too many hangfires, and one round was so hot that it locked the bolt carrier all the way back, i really had to smack it hard so it would go forward to chamber the next round.
  22. i see www.cheaperthandirt.com has those for $29.97 item number is AKS-022
  23. +1 on the notched saftey, easy, quick, and effective!
  24. I use the FCG retaining plate. It dosen't get any easier than that.
