  1. Found 3 places online that do lay-a-way and have them in stock for under $450 with 15-20% down (found 1 place that is $399 but can only do 30 days) and balance in 60 days or less. Ordering this week. Now I got to get the ammo.
  2. If anyone wants to 'SPOT' me $450 I could get one.. Gotta try..
  3. Going to kick myself later (don't have one yet) but I found 4 to 6 7.62x39 Saiga varieties on GB for $399 to $429 just NOW. Have at em' boys.
  4. Okay. I got a 2-7x32 scope (1/4 moa adjustable) for it and mounted it to the exisiting rear DOVETAIL (under the rear site) as pointed out by another guy on another forum. The scope is clear and can see far enough away for me. I opted to do this for now and try it vs. drilling the receiver and changing the bolt handle. Next is simple METAL folding bi-pod and maybe the muzzle brake and maybe cutting down to 22-24" or so.
  5. I also seen a Simmon fixed 4x32 with longer EER (thats fine) but said Parallax is 50 yards and I don't quite understand that and if that would work correctly for long-range shooting.. Its $95. Of course 4X32 would probably be FINE (like the old SVD snipers used) but the 50 yard things is confusing me. Id go NC Star but PELT myself with STONEs more than likely after 3 shots.
  6. I have an old bolt action rifle in 7.62x54R cal. (similar to 308 trag.) and want to pick up an in-expensive scope and 3-9X40 seems common and fine for me. I was going to go larger magnification but think 3-9 should be fine? I have the rings (1") and can only squeeze on a mx of 44mm lenses (so again 40mm). Its a SCOUT type mount so I was going with an EER scope idea. Scope in question is Bushnell Banner #71-3947 and is about $75. I want to be able to SEE clearly to say 350-400 yards for arguments sake. What type of sight picture can I expect from it? If you know of a scope larger than
  7. More people killed in US by 22 cal than other sizes. BTW. Its not about the Cal. (ok yeah it is) Walther P22 with SPECIAL ADD-ons. (with stamp of course) NICE...
  8. Remington Golden Saber 124 and 147's in the 9 have no feed issues. The FLATTOP Federals are iffy in alot of firearms. I had a cheapy LLama Mini-Max 45 that was horrible even after a trip back to the importer. Gave that to my FFL with other firearms for $100 and was happy with loosing $225 on that POS. I did notice in my Mak if I ran federal (remember 380 version) it would be a feeding challenge. Corrected with GS in 102 grains. Single action on the Sig is like an XD and pretty smooth. Even DA mode is smooth. Alo of places have the P225 for I think like high $3xx or so. You make
  9. Subsonic...?? I've got some 45 acp factory ammo pushing 1100+ FPS. Corbon is HOT in 400 Corbon (necked down 45 to 40 at 1400fps). Triton was hot also. Still got some of that also. I also got the Taurus GOLD 'somethingerother' ammo that is hot $20/box of 20. Don't think they make it any more. My old XD9 (formally HS2000) was nice and straight out of the box. Looking at XD45's myself now.
  10. Had a Mak in 380 with Hi-Cap 12 rounds. Nice, safety/decoker. Sold (moron) can't find another like it. Have a Sig 228, 225's cheap right now has hammer drop/decocker also (I think). The Sig and 1911 are almost the same size. My Sig stabs my gut at 1pm carry IWB (getting fat). Used to carry my Mak at 5pm with no problems. Getting my Glock 30 (45acp) back Monday from the police (car was stolen last year with it in it). Best carry piece for me at 1pm (no hammer to dig into me) Go with the Sig 225. 9mm plenty. Sig has good service. Reliable. IMHO
  11. Found someplace else for $279 and $299 for DIMPLED. hmmm.
  12. Since the IZ-139 (21.") model has gone pretty scarce I have seen the IZ-138 Wood model around. Is everything the same as the IZ-139 (like the bolt-on acces., the receiver dim. , etc) I might just grab one of them unless someone has a contact at RAA that can direct us to when and where (distributor) the next batch in is heading??
  13. I'll keep an eye on Classic. I dealt with them before. Pretty good service. Thanks. The other news is the Glock 30 (45) that was stolen with my car last July (day after my b-day) has been recovered. Going to pick up Monday. Checked Gb most dealers are $30 around here. Just stick with my $40 range I guess. What about the accuracy out to 250-yards??
  14. Been on here since Dec. I have a check coming for $345 this week and spotted the x39 Saiga for apprx. $265. Shipping is $25 and my FFL charges me $40 so I am within range to get this. I want something accurate to 200-250 yards (6-8" groups or better). I wanted the 308 vers. but prices are up to about $450 +/- and if I don't get something when the money comes in I will more than likely BLOW it and regret it. So, should I get the x39 and just be happy that I got my first Saiga?? What type of accuracy can I get from the x39?? Should I get the 16 or 20"?
  15. The Surfires are SUPPOSEDLY marked with ridges every 5 rounds. The 25 rounder $50 or so has 4 marks and supposedly so when THEY (the mfg.) want they can just cut the ends and SLIDE the removeable baseplate off up to the higher RIDGE and call it a lower count mag. Look for the Surefire mags on GB with pics, you can see the ridges. They are worth 3 US parts. I read this info on HERE somewhere when they first came out in January. Hope that helps.
  16. Shot it today after some trigger/sear mods to lighten it. Also bedded the barrel only at this point with the FELT idea as seen on the Mosin Forums. Tightened the front TIGHT and the rear tang bolt snug. I also filed off some wood from the stock (inside) to keep from rubbing the MAG (about 1/32 of an inch), its now even all the way around. Thanks to aresv for the motivation, btw. Easily blasted thru a dead 6" tree at about 40 yards with me winging it. Recoil was great/easy (must be the locking lug fit) Shot Bulgy 182gr from 1954. (cleaned with Windex when done and then Hoppes 9) Sister
  17. Acutally they do cal the State Police for the background check that is where the magic money goes in NJ. I lived in NJ for 24 years and that is who the FFL calls. The NJSP then runs your name. And IF you get REAL LUCKY you go home with the firearm.
  18. OKay Leo.. Whos the GIRL?? We all want to know. Thats why we keep re-reading this post.
  19. I forget who was searching 'Dimples' but the story goes the manufacturer may have used some Military issue receivers (which have dimples for rigidity) to assemble some coming to the US. If you get the 1 with the extra Y marking/dimple thats fine as long as its NOT punched thru (full-auto hole). If you do get one NEVER show it to the ATF I'd buy one if it was readily available with others just sitting there. (then brag on here)
  20. These are the AES10 at Centerfire then that I saw. http://www.centerfiresystems.com/index.asp...&ProdID=648 Better off going with Classic's AES10B for the same price.
  21. Trying to locate a 21" 308 myself but it seems all the regular suppliers are OUT at the $369-399 range, any ideas people on where to dig one up?? Is there another shipment due in?? Gilbert is out and the 'GUY' in GB (Mr. 922r) wants $450 with 25rnd mag. I really don't want the Feds knocking on my door 3 months from now. Theres is TTP seller with one at $399, but no mag shown or mentioned in picture? Mississippi Auto Arms has for $399 with buynow at $439 with wood (Iz-138 21") I dont really want (or have the extra dough) the Ver21 model at the moment.
  22. Okay. Where can I get a regular 308 version IZ-139 21"?? Gilbert and most suppliers are OUT and Gb sellers want $470 now. (one of which is that dues with 922r issues) Sorry to Hi-Jack
  23. Aresv.. I thought the point of floting was to have a THIN layer between the metat/metal points? Won't the METAL filling from the Devcon once it sets act like a HARD slap to the rec/barr everytime I fire the thing?? I'm confused. I thought GLASS BEAD was kinda a SOFT type of bedding that gives a tiny bit when fired but keeps the assy. OFF the furniture for less STIFFNESS. Seems like anything that drys HARD goes against this idea>
