  1. Actually he does not have any 12's left. He only has one 20 and one 410 as of a few minutes ago. I am still trying to find 2 more 12's in 24" barrel and one 20, so if anyone knows where, prefferably in AZ, I would appreciate knowing. Thanks
  2. I am looking for a modified cylinder choke tube for the Saiga 12. Anyone have one they don't use and want to sell or know where I can find one?

  4. So, are these helpful for trap shooting or something/hunting? Yes. They allow you to control the amount of spread you get in your shot pattern. If you shoot slugs or buckshot only really no need. I chose it because it is more versitile than buying the whole set of chokes and then carrying them when in the field.
  5. Don't see myself moving to WI in the near future. They don't even allow us to register our military vehicles in that state. I thought California was bad
  6. Or you could just load a 7 1/2 round on top follow it with buckshot, slug ... whatever your preference is. It would cut down on the cost of keeping a mag fully loaded with a more expensive round. 7 1/2 makes a good warning round anyway and if you are at close quarters will do substantial damage, just shoot a solid core door and see for yourself.

showed a couple of my hunting buddies that the Saiga is something to be dealt with. I ended up with more ducks,by one, then the next closest to me. I also had the longest shot on a GWT, that folded right up, even surprised me. The polychoke really makes it nice. I am not sure my o/u or pump will be going out again very soon. The 3" magnum steel rounds worked great. A little difficult to track down the empty cases but that is the price you pay for positive extraction.
  8. Have reloaded shotshell for years. I started with a single stage MEC, great unit and cheap. I have moved onto a couple of progressives, one MEC the other Hornady. I still prefer the MEC units for their ease of operation and availability of dies. As you will/have found you can spend as much on a unit as you can afford. Because of the time it takes to make slug rounds and with the minimal number of them that I shoot I have not taken to reloading them. I would prefere a single stage for the specialty rounds as it gives a little more control over each stage without messing up production. Th

  10. I woul be almost willing to bet that is represenative of the percentage of people on this board that will vote in the upcoming elections also. And to think this is the start of choosing our policy makers for the next 4 years. If people would just learn the system then we would not have the trouble with our ownership of these and other fine weapons. We can make a difference if we just get out there and vote! You hear so many guys complaining about more gun laws but they are passed because not enough gun owners put down their guns and vote. Enough to drive a guy crazy. Lets hope for

Congrats on the Pheasant. I went out this morning and got my limit of 7 Green Winged Teal with my Saiga 12. My 12 is stock with the addition of a poly choke and magazines plugged to two rounds. snoopdog simply put most gun owners that look down on hunting either don't understand it or are the renegade wannabe mercenary types or perhaps somewhere inbetween. It is rare to find a gun owner who does not want to challenge his abilities to hit targets. I find clay pidgeons to be a bit predictable for my taste. Hunting when done leagally can be very challenging especially fast flying

AH leave him alone, he is probably one of those guys that goes out shooting with his buddies and leaves all his spent brass and shotgun shells laying around along with all the "targets" they took out. Generally when I see those types of post I just leave them alone as they are either animal rights people or the kind who are destroying our rights to take our guns out by polluting the enviroment with their trash. Our military vehicle club goes out and cleans up after their types a couple of times a year just so we can still enjoy the outdoor activities such as hunting.

I also have an 870 (which has not seen the light of day since I found my 410 saiga, now with the 12 it surely will be passed on to the younger crowd) I went for the 24" barrel over the 19" for obvious hunting reasons I also prefer the monte carlo stock setup for hunting though some of the mods look way cool (maybe need a second 12) I chose the polychoke simply because I did not want to buy a whole set of choke tubes and it added a little length to the gun. FWIW I went with the slotted model. The magazines I am using are 5 round with plugs. Cobra 76 two (UN on this board) had the plugs for

been using my 410 saiga for a number of years now for dove and quail along with the occassional javelina trip. I picked up a saiga 12 w/ 24" barrel this year for duck season. Other than the mag change when the birds are flying fast and furious it has been very reliable and knocks down as many as my buddies with their benellis and berettas. I don't do trap/skeet with any of my shotguns so have no comparison there. I do have a choice is shotguns when I go duck hunting and the saiga is my first choice. I will also shoot an o/u or one of my pumps. Except for the saiga the other autos seem to
  15. saigastock.com has them listed on their website. They sent me my stuff very quickly. Don't know about the 10 rounders though.
  16. bvamp I forget sometimes that some places shoot large game with shotgun. I don't know a lot of people in AZ that use shotgun for large game. I use mine exclusively for birds and waterfowl. I wish you would have been with me yesterday to fish my magazine out 4' of water when it fell in (man that water was cold). I have used my Saiga 410 to hunt javelina and had the game and fish officer ask about it. With rifled slugs I did not see a problem but he thought different using a shotgun during regular rifle season (his loss). I really like my saiga's for hunting just a bit cumbersome loading
  17. I have shot both the benelli and the Saiga in hunting enviroments. If I had to choose I would use the benelli only because you don't have to mess with detachable magazines. If they were both fixed mag fed I would stay with the Saiga everytime. Now if I were into making an assault rifle the drum magazine and modified Saiga would be my choice. The benelli action when clean I felt was smoother than an unmodified Saiga's. If you had to shoot a bunch of rounds you would know you were shooting a large shotgun with the benelli, it does kick substantially more.

    2 round mags

just got my poly choke and extra 5 round mag plugged to 2 from Saiga stock. I made a plug for the original 5 round magazine so now I have two mags I can go hunting with. The ducks are going to die this weekend. I made the plugs for my 410 as well and they work great. I was very happy with Saiga Stocks service and fast shippping, first time I have ordered from them.
  20. Sadly this is what happens when citizens just sit around and let others fight for their rights. Everytime I bring this up people always tell me they vote but yet the statistics don't show this. Just watch the upcoming elections. If they get a 30% voter turnout then it would be amazing. The people who vote are the ones making the rules. I know some are going to take offense but unless we put down the guns for one day and get out and vote we will loose more of our rights every year. Remember politicians and lawmakers depend on the voting public for their jobs and don't want to be unemploye
  21. ounces stated is the weight of the lead, steel, bismuth, titanium ....... For the powder charge the best you can find on the box is the dram eq. With the proper manuals and a little knowledge of what the ammunition manufacturer uses for powder you can determine the amount of powder. The speed if indicated on box will give you an idea of how much kick the round will have. As a rule of thumb the faster the round the harder it kicks. Of course there are variables but it gives you an idea.
  22. My buddy shoots a Thompson Contender with a 45 long colt/410 barrel. I have seen him shoot the thing and unless you are resting on the wrong end of the barrel you are pretty safe. I seem to recall a big discussion about the 41 rem mag in 410's. Same problem though, a pistol round down a shotgun barrel. I guess I like my guns a little more than others so I will stick to what the gun was intended to shoot.
  23. a good heavy load would be any "heavy game load". They will usually be high brass rounds and do not have to be buck or slugs. I used #3 steel shot 1550fps to check out my Saiga. Of course the barrel was pointed at some ducks at the time. This weekend I am sure to have my Saiga fully broken in. My Saiga 12 sure likes the rounds, almost a litte too much. My Benelli freinds thought their guns threw the spent cases a long ways away. I sure showed them.
  24. Welcome to the site I purchased my Saiga 12 mainly for hunting. I have ordered the Polychoke but have not yet received it so no report on it. If the 12 works as well as the 410 you will be very pleased. I have been using my Saiga 410 for several years now with great success. It is one of my favorite small (dove and quail) bird guns. The Saiga 12 will be my waterfowl gun. I plugged several mags down for my 410 and will be doing the same with the 12. I only have one 5 round currently but expect to see a few more in the next week or so. I have found a piece of Balsa wood with rounded ed
