I went out today and tried to shoot the .308 left handed, not happening. It felt so weird that I didn't even waste ammo shooting that way. On a side note, I was hitting right at 2" group at what I perceived to be 100 yards, maybe a little bit more, but nonetheless I'm happy. I can't wait to get a scope for that thing.

You use the mag as a grip dude? That's effin weird. I use the front grip, though, so no worries here.

Just read up a bit on the compliance issue, I was confused and thinking that I need 10 US parts on a gun, but I actually need less than 10 imported parts. So with the US mag, that's 3, and US FCG that's another 3, so I'd be in the clear, right?

I figured as much. I'm going to put in a single hook trigger, and a new FG, what else should I do to achieve compliance? What about my scope mount, does that count?

Yeah, I try to shoot in the most comfortable fashion, I was just wondering if I was sabotaging myself by using left eye and right hand, I haven't noticed any drastic difference in my accuracy either way. You're right about the rifle, I pretty much shoot right handed with my rifles (right hand on the trigger is right handed, right? Right.), but I don't know if that's a product of me being converted to right handed activities, or a matter of the setup of most rifles.

When I bought my .308 it came with a 25 round surefire magazine, but it was advertised as coming with the magazine. I didn't get the factory mag with it, though. So is it illegal for me to use the 25 round mag in my unconverted .308?

Here's the deal: I'm left handed, I write and eat left handed, but when I was about 5 years old and started playing T-ball they took my left handed glove away, and I've played sports right handed ever since. Naturally, I shot my pistol with my left hand, but recently started using my right hand because it's a Glock and it's not really configured for a left handed shot, what with the mag release and slide release being on the left side of the gun. Also wanted to ask you about the scope mount. I have the same one, but I don't have a scope yet. I was looking at it and it seems to be off center just a bit. Did you have any issue zeroing in your scope, or does is shoot a little bit off?

I always pick up other peoples brass if they don't do it. I would have a bunch of rifle brass, if I ever shot any brass cased ammo, most of the time, well, all the time, I'm shooting cheap ass steel case.

Right on. I've been saving brass for a while, but most of it is 9mm and .40. By no means do I have an adequate amount, but I really need to stock up on rifle-round stuff, as that's what I figure will become hard to find first.

Well, hell. I was talking to a buddy of mine today, and I think I'm scrapping my .223 plans. We're both going to put in on a really nice reloading machine. I think it will be the best investment in the long run, plus I've got a spare room in my place to turn into a dark fortress of ammo production. I'll might buy a saiga .223 and do a conversion, who knows. Here's to indecisiveness :super:

I don't know enough about guns to comment. I'd like to have a few more pistols, but I think I'm set on rifles. I would like to have one of those Daewoo .223's.

I'm getting to the point where I've said I'm not buying anymore guns. But then I decided I wanted a .223 also. I guess by the time my check gets here I will either put it away to (partially) compensate for the guns I've bought in the last couple of months, or I will spend it on ammo, shit's not getting cheaper. I do like the thought that most of the politicians that were pushing for the stimulus check would be mortified if I were taking the check and buying firearms with it. What about y'all?

I would encourage everyone who receives emails like this, which are usually forwarded and tend to be full of misinformation and half-truths, to check them against snopes.com, as that seems to be a fairly consistent source of information regarding the validity of information and/or rhetoric such as this. My mother sends me things like this on occasion (you know how women can get with the internet, it's like a worldwide extension of their local gossip ring), and sometimes I run them through snopes.com and send it back to her. It usually makes me feel like a dick, because I know she's sending it
