  1. Saigas have to different barrels for the 223 as well.
  2. yeah, you can pick up the tools From Manson reamers to do it. I have been wanting to try it, but I haven been able to get a 12 that isn't already sold to a customer. I could try it on a S20 but they are so hard to sell.
  3. I heard the same rumor. Plus when the finish re-tooling all saigas will be the same. no more differences with in the same model.
  4. I take a 3/8 drill bit and drill a whole using the drill press then I take a triangular file to make it square Also, if you are putting an ergo grip on, make whole a little close to the trigger guard then spec. the compression of the rubber spacer on the Ergo grip will prevent it from rotating and make the grip seem much more solid to the gun. also use a M6x1 tap and die to clean up the threads on the grip bushing and screw. Leo@VKA Thanks for the drill and file directions. I messed up my last pistol grip hole so much (using my Dremmel) that I had to put a pistol grip re
  5. yeah, you can tune the ejector, I did it to mine so that it would throw the brass forward at a 45 rather than to to the right at a 90. A side effect was the brass stopped getting dinged.
  6. Nobody has one!?!? It should reduce the recoil by 70% according to Enidine for anyone you running M4 style stocks on your Saigas. I use the Enidine buffers in my ARs and they are excellent at reducing recoil and muzzle flip... I figured this would be the #1 add on for 3 gunners using the Saiga 12. Just wondered if it had a negative effect on cycling reliability since that piston collapses a good inch during recoil. a mercury tube can do the same for less.

  8. its a Galil, you can get it here http://riflestocks.com/catalog/product_inf...products_id=323
  9. Yeah, you are legal. you may want to get a L-shaped retaining spring, is it cheaper and works better than the plate. I drill it out and then use a silver solder from Brownells to lock it in and fill the dimple holes red locktite works too
  10. Yeah, people are figuring out that there is noting like an S12 I guess even at that price. Supply is slow because the Russians are retooling their machines but RAA is expecting another shipment later this spring. I am sure the wholesale price will increase given increased demand, weak supply and a weak dollar. Saiga Futures Market. invest in a gun you trust
  11. Did you do any modifications to your sear? that might have caused that. I just completed 18 rifles (5 223's and 13 762x39) with out seeing that malfunction.
  12. well when you add shipping and FFL transfer fees it comes out to about 550 to 600 to do a conversion. Just the parts for a 922r legal conversion comes out to about $160. you might be looking for a "build party" rather than a conversion. A build party is when non licensed individuals meet at a friend's garage and build their own personal weapons and tip the party host for letting you use his tools.

  14. Worse is a Glock 22, Best Shooter is a Tanfoglio Match 45 Favorite is M1911A1
  15. Its like selling a car. Same ethics. Someone out there will always need a part, so sell It as a mechanics special. POS, Diamond in the rough. its all about of view. I would buy and S12 that had feeding problem. I know I can fix it up.
  16. The AK action has a lot more mass then the beretta so it has less recoil. what helps a lot is more mass, inertia - bodies at rest want to stay at rest. At www.brownells.com you can order a mercury tube with will cut down on the kick. I hide mine by epoxy'n it in to the tube of my collapsable stock. I also ported my barrel and added a compensator. the tube reduced the most.
  17. Wow, so as a licensed MFG, I need to go get a lawyer on retainer. You know, reading BATF regulations is like reading Scripture, it is subject to interpretation and sections may seem to contradict each other.
  18. here is my trick to getting a plastic stock on using the original screws from the russian stock. put a little oil on the stock and tap it in with a rubber mallet. then drill the two wholes with what ever bit you have that is smaller than the screws in diameter just to remove some material. then hold the screws over a propane torch till the tip turns red, then push in a quarter of an inch in to the whole, and then screw it in with a screw driver. the heat cuts the thread in to the plastic and centers the screw.
  19. firing from a bolt open would be a great innovation for all saigas. Have you ever seen the Marine Corps IAR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ravWDN2OcwE bump fire heaven
