Hi, all I purchased my catamount fury 2 in January of this year and have been shooting at least every weekend, For some reason the gun will not cycle any type of target loads I buy. I've tried everything from Federal Target loads, Remington gun club, and Fiocci loads and none of them will work. It cycles high brass shells perfectly ! I've shot at least 25 of 30 rounds of high brass buck shot through it I have tried loads that have been 1145 Velocity to 1355 and none of them work. Any help would be greatly appreciated ! I have been working on this gun for a while now but I have taken this about as far as I am going to at this point. My main interest is in long range rifle so I need to create some money to support that expensive addiction. Here is my build thread for the background and pics. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/76696-my-first-gun-project/ This is a fully functional gun, all unfinished work is mostly cosmetic or optional (back plate for folding stock for example) Some quick details on the current state. It's a bit scuffed up from being worked on, needs to be refinished.

i know that the magwell is one of the great attractions for the vepr 12. however, i already have an s12, and a bunch of mags, and wouldnt plan on using the vepr for competition, and wouldnt want to throw down another ton of money for magwell mags. i know the differences of opinion and the arguments for and against the magwell. my question is, can the magwell be removed from the vepr12? if so, would s12 rock-and-lock magazines function properly in it? just curious. then i could use my drums and magazines i already have, and if i ever so desired, replace the magwell and buy the magazines for it.

I've had this gun for about 3.5 years. Bought it for 642$. The Saiga 12 has been my FAVORITE gun to shoot! I just converted this gun and this weekend I get to break it in agian! I moved the trigger group myself. But since I used the carolina shooters kits it was no problem. All I had to do was drill out the 3 rivets and everything else just bolted in. Anyone can do this. I shot a lot of video of the conversion and plan on putting it up on youtube. I used the tapco stock simply because I wanted this to be a simple DIY project. I bought a saiga 12 2 years ago and i have had nothing but bad luck. Honestly it probably has a lot to do with the fact that this is my first gun and I have no idea what im doing when it comes to customizing it. Recently the Bolt carrige sheared at the piston insertion point and my Gumsmith is welding it together. I have been told that this is a bad idea but I dont know what els to do. I can't find a new piston/bolt/carriage anywhere. Im at the point where i just want to say f* it and start over. Any advice. (please be nice im totally new at this). I'm in market for purchasing my first Saiga 12 and I recently came across a used one for $750 that has had a full 922r. conversion done on it. It's had about 1500 rounds through it. And since purchased has only had a Krebs custom retainer plate added. I was also told I could test fire the firearm before purchase. My question would be is $750 for a used Saiga with 1500 rounds through it a good deal or a waste of money? Thanks in advance, I've posted a picture of the "said" Saiga below.
