I purchased a Saiga 308 cheap off a friend of a friend. The guy said he had a problem with it jamming. The gun was kinda beat up so I assumed it was a lack of maintenance. I get it home and the issue appears that some one modified the rear dust cover button and now it doesn't have the buffer on it. It's allowing the bolt to travel to far to the rear causing the bolt to tip up over the rail. Does anyone know where I can buy a new buffer, or if the regular AK drop in buffers will work.

I have a recently purchased saiga 308 that I am in the process of converting, and I was wondering whether a combo FSB/GB from an AK47 or 74 such as the KVAR combo gas block and FSB will fit on it, or if there are any purpose built S308 combo FSB/GB's being manufactured.

I saw this in a smaller, older gun store in Conroe, Texas today. I was too in shock to even ask about it. Two days after gun ban list came out, so I don't know if it was maybe just $2000 last week. Sorry about image orientation, it previewed thumbnail in normal orientation

I finally knocked my .308's FSB off and found that I have a 0.670" diameter underneath it. I've read Dinzag's tutorial on the subject, which says: But, if you'll excuse what reads like a child's temper tantrum, I don't want 17x1mm muzzle threads. I want a Battlecomp like Jim Digriz. I'd at least prefer the option to use any of the many, varied muzzle devices made for the 5/8-24 threads. So here's the question, is the conventional wisdom that a 0.670" muzzle cannot be threaded in 5/8-24 just a guideline, or is it a sure thing that I'm going to screw something up if I try it? I

Im in the market for a "fighting" rifle although ill hopefully only use it for plinkin and hunting. Im on a budget so I cant get a M1A. A few people said I could buy an AR kit but I'd like something more potent than 223 since I will use it for hunting anyway. I know saigas arent meant to be tack drivers but I was wondering if yall could help me get the right saiga configuration for me. I'd like primarily wood and metal or the stock can be synthetic but most of the parts have to be metal. I know plastic is fine but I like heavier guns for some reason if they are too light they feel like toy

Hello all. This is my fist post here. I tried to run a search for this info, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Sorry if I'm doubling down on a topic. So, I've been looking into Saigas for a while now, and I've decided to get one. Trouble is, I'm having a bit of a time deciding on caliber. I see split decisions on almost every thread on almost every forum, so I thought I would ask for some more specific opinions. For my personal uses (weekend rec shooting, occasional target/group shooting, and of course SHTF/home defense) I'm trying to find out if the frequently-s

Hi all. I am in the middle of a 308 conversion. I got a complete conversion from CSS. Almost everything is done and I am reassembling the FCG. When the rifle is almost complete with the trigger/spring/hammer and retaining plate, during function checks the leg on the right side of the spring moves from the rear of the trigger (where its supposed to be) and falls inside of the trigger group. The spring is the factory one, and the rifle only has a single "hook" cut in the receiver. This causes malfunctions and the trigger will not reset/clear with it falling in there. I know I am install
