BlackDog 1
I was at a local gun shop today and saw a new .223 Saiga for $399 ?!?! Is that price high? What is the going rate?? I bought some Sellier and Bellot 55gr for $4.69 and I thought that was cheap. I bought mine new from another local dealer for $269 just last year.

I was with a friend that bought two for $280.00 on 05/11/2007. He also bought a 12 ga. and I think he paid around $400.00 for that, but that gun shop is about a hundred dollars too high. busy_squirrel 1
The full MSRP store here was charging $320+tax for .223s about 2 weeks ago.
MD_Willington 11
People in states that ban other AKM type rifles have found out that they can get them in those states, other people have told people that they are great rifles too, once the word gets out + a bit of AWB II paranoia, the prices will increase. I'd find an online dealer and order through them.
BlackDog 1
I though it was $100 to high, but thinking about it more, they do have a nice location and maybe people are just paying it. I don't stop there too often and it seems like the items on the display wall move right along.
JK-47 33
400$ is too much. At the least, if they do transfers for a reasonable price, you can get one online for 300$ (and even thats a bit high) and add the transfer fee and still come out ahead. Or use that point as a bargaining chip in your favor and talk them down from 400$ to whatever the online cost + transfer is.
5Adam 0
I bought mine the Sat before last from a local metro Atlanta dealer. I paid $269.95 + tax. Out the door was $286.15.

I bought my 16.3" .223 Saiga this past weekend at the Allentown, PA Gun Show for $295 (incl. tax). The S&B price is ok. I have a hard time finding any 55gr brass case ammo here in SE PA for under $6.00/20.
