us_dragunov 11 Posted March 1, 2008 Report Share Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) Actually let me correct myself...I had to do some checking as I knew I had seen that design elsewhere besides just the PP-90 & PP-90M and I was correct. It turns out the Russians and Magpul actually ripped off an American with that design....a one Eugene Stoner. He designed and patented the FMG back in 1986....look up the Ares FMG. Actually I guess Magpul isn't really "ripping" Stoner off as they give him a bit of credit even in the name. BUT in that video, it to me seems to imply that it was a new idea and in fact it is just an update and modernization of an existing idea.
