October_V 0
I am looking at new front sights for my S12, I see Tromix has some. Does anybody know what the thread pattern is? It looks like I could unscrew the original and replace it with whatever I can find to match the threads. Sorry if this question has been repeated over and over. kresk 10,063
The barrel threads for chokes and so forth are metric 22x0.75. Didn't think there were any S-12 'front sights' that screw on, just muzzle devices.
Gunfanatic 221
This should help. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=21938 The front sights on some of the guns are staked not threaded so it my be more work than screwing off the old one and screwing on the new one. philg80 1
Here is an idea for guys with the new guns with a riveted front sight. HiViz Plain Barrel snap on sight trimmed to fit and then Loctite Extreme to hold in place. Same height as factory.

HiViz Plain Barrel snap on sight trimmed to fit and then Loctite Extreme to hold in place. Same height as factory. Nice job phil, I've been looking at the various tritium sights for what would adapt well. Thats a nice application. Hey V. someone has an original Russian clamp-on front sight listed in our For Sale thread FYI. I've also got an '07 version with the staked front bead sight. The original owner took off the sight rail & clamped on a Krebs Custom Front shotgun sight along with attaching a rear GRS. I've been trying to find a tritium / hi-vis product that would work in place of that tiny front post inside the Krebs. Anyone got a suggestion or idea? No I don't want to paint it, nor use the plastic Tapco inserts. These old eyes need some tritium Cheers, HarvKY
Elkhound 91
Here is an idea for guys with the new guns with a riveted front sight. HiViz Plain Barrel snap on sight trimmed to fit and then Loctite Extreme to hold in place. Same height as factory. That looks good! I think I'm going to have to try those sights. I think sight installation might be a project that even the mechanically challenged (of which I am the supreme leader) should be able to successfully undertake. Steve in Allentown, PA 5
Here is an idea for guys with the new guns with a riveted front sight. HiViz Plain Barrel snap on sight trimmed to fit and then Loctite Extreme to hold in place. Same height as factory. I thought this was a great idea so I ordered one of these sights. It arrived today and now I'm trying to figure out what you did to get it to fit because the HiViz is considerably smaller than the S-12 gas block. Did you cut away the "skirt" of the HiViz or what?
