Aethelbert 1
My sister is an exec at a bank in Toledo, OH. Their way of saying "Thank You!" to not only our current service members but also veterans whether or not they served in a theater of action (and including widows) is by marking their certificates of deposit records with a star. This gives them an extra .25% interest non-service people don't even know about. The bank president is a retired Navy 4-striper.
waltham_41 52
I dont know if they still do or not, but the Red Lobster in Muskogee Ok used to let anyone that could prove they were a veteran eat for free on memorial day. I never took them up on it because of the long line, but my deceased sister in law was ex Navy and she went every year faithfully. Greetings to all fellow vets, and thank you to the people that remembered us. I have always looked at myself as "ex military" instead of a vet because I never got shot at, but I did spend my time on the border in Germany staring down a shitload of East German tanks.
