ernestmayhand 10
I usually get the 15 pack of Winchester Super X at Walmart:
DS12 1
How much do those usually run? Thanks
ernestmayhand 10
Maybe $9 a box I don't remember, all I know is they're always cheaper than the rest of them.
evildog 20
Wally world is the cheapest, 15pk of winchester x or remington. Less than $9 a box of 15 rounds.
Cobra 76 two 2,677
I've found some good deals on Brenneke KOs at Dick's and at gun shows. ($3 or less a box of 5)
Juggernaut 11,054
Sellier & Bellot brand ammo, you can get around 100 slugs for around 75 bucks
ML Roak 0
after putting some slugs on paper I'll spend the extra to get the Federal Vital Shock Truball slugs ($4.70/5 at Walmart). The Winchesters grouped decent, especially for the price.
DS12 1
So cheapest is around 0.75 a slug, does anyone here reload their own slugs? Was in the reloading forum and not too much info there on reloading slugs, but it doesn't seem like it would be too much of a cost savings would it?
ML Roak 0
reloading slugs would save you a bundle if your set-up to cast your own slugs, if you have to buy the slugs I think the numbers would be pretty close.

ML Roak 0
I just wish that Iowa Wally Worlds carried Buck shot more often. I'm glad there is a Sportsmans Warehouse in Ankeny. Looks Like I'm going to get a Bass Pro locally too, I don't think I can afford it
waltham_41 52
sportsmans guide has federal vital shok truball slugs for a pretty decent price. Look here http://www.retailmenot.com/view/sportsmansguide.com for coupons that can help cover shipping. I got 15 rds delivered to my door for less than 12 bucks using a coupon. vbrtrmn 167
There's a good video on YouTube about making your own slugs.
emt1581 0
There's a good video on YouTube about making your own slugs. Awesome video! I have about 10 lbs of lead I collected at the range. I'd need to pick up a smelter and something to crimp with. I probably wouldn't buy primers, powder and the reloading kit. Hell, I can buy the 100pk at Wally-World, open them up, take out the pellets and drop in a slug then re-crimp the shell and I'd be good to go...right? Thanks! -Emt1581

You're asking to blow you or your gun up! Projectile weight, powder charge and wad used all change pressure settings. If you're going to reload shotgun shells, do it right and do it from scratch.
