eseaton 2
Has anyone produced a steel, pointed slug that can be loaded up into a 12 gauge? Just curious after seeing videos of lead passing through cars. Would do some damage to an engine block, etc. Edited February 18, 2009 by eseaton

SaigaNoobie 66
I don't know if AP Slugs are legal so I'd check your local laws before proceeding with making any.

jdeitch 32
You should check out a website called "The Box-o-Truth". Tons of info about ballistics and shooting goodness. VERY interesting and informative. Heres the link: http://www.theboxotruth.com/index.htm
lipadj46 2
They may make the but who knows how effective they are. For AP high velocity is as or more important than the hardness and I am not sure a 12 gauge delivers enough velocity even with sabot slugs to really be considered AP. I will take my M1A for penetration and the S12 for brutal stopping power.
vbrtrmn 167
I've always figured if I had to shoot someone wearing body armor with a shotgun, the shock wave is probably going to do some serious internal damage anyway.

RobRez 1,895
definitely check out "the box o truth" website. I've not seen any armor-slugs, but here in Montana I have the opportunity to try many types of exotic rounds in my backyard! unfortunately most of them seem to be a waste of money, as they do not perform as well as good ol buckshot or slugs. Some ammo such as the flechette is a total waste. If i need to defend against armored vehicles I'm going to use track shoes! Run Joey, run!
David Mark 2,452
http://www.deltaforce.com/catalog/pg31.html Kind of reminds me of the fishing lure rule. Design the lure to attract fisherman, not fish.

BpS12 512
I'd be happy with some long range FMJ slugs. I think I saw Remington with some JHPs awhile back. Should have pick them up when I saw them. :-(c Mikel
