IndyArms 10,186
Ok... I picked up a couple of the flash hiders for sale on ebay and GB... got them today... I know Gazza was looking at them... Figured I would post some pics of them on the guns... see what ya think of them... they were $40.00 EACH TOTAL... shipping was included in the price..They are BIG AND BEEFY... they seem to be VERY SOLID, fit perfectly BEFORE tightening down the set screws... all in all, I would say they seem to be of VERY DECENT QUALITY... I have *NOT* shot the guns with these on yet... so I cant say anymore about THAT... BUT.... when I do... I will post more HERE in this thread... Diggler 0
Can you post a pics of all those set screws? I just want one that I can silver solder on without those ugly things and I wonder how many of them there are.
johnnymceldoo 0
I think there are 8 set screws if Im not mistaken. You could easily fill them in and repaint though if your going to silver solder on.
yurt_boy 0
Okay, here's a legal question; If one of these was permanently affixed to the barrel, ie welded, would the "official" length of the barrel be inclusive of the flash hider? In other words, would it be then considered part of the barrel?
IndyArms 10,186
I believe that it would be "part of the barrel" if welded on...

Be careful, I know that there were some plastic flash hiders out there. If they're not plastic, SCHWEEEET!
Cobra 76 two 2,677
How much weight do they add to the front end? Noticeable? See if you can get someone to snap a pic of you firing in the dark so we can see the effect!
CrazyJ 0
At the sort of range you'd be using a shotgun at, what good is a flash-hider?
hardcorps1775 1
i emailed veriforce to see if the flash suppressor is steel or plastic. will post their answer when i get it. hey cobra, mick porno fired his johnny mac f/s and says the reduction is significant... Cobra 76 two 2,677
Guess great minds think alike. They will probly get enough emails about it to state that on the advert like they did on some of the others. Maybe Indy will splurge and get one from Johnny too. I would like to see a flash comparison.
Grau_Tek 0
ive been looking at the shotfarce plastic brake and the one form veriforce there are a couple similarities and a couple differences i cant wait for the email response
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Shotfarce... I just recieved email from Veriforce and those are allum. That could be a good thing. Less weight. what do you guys think? I like the look better. I forgot to ask them about set screws and such. Since they are not steel I guess theres no way to weld them on? Tony rumore swears by red locktight. Edited February 24, 2005 by Cobra 76 two
Diggler 0
Won't work for me because I need to silver-solder mine on to make it 18 inches.
hardcorps1775 1
hahahaha joel at veriforce, right? they look damn good! i have 2 s12's so i think i might just get one of these and one of johnny mac's!
Grau_Tek 0
well im glad that they turned out to NOT be plastic i would have felt foolish for posting, as ive seen the discussions about the plastic ones before umm i have another question to pose... i would like to mount an AR15 flash hider on my AMD65 kit so i need to either come across an adapter from 1/2 x 28 to 14mm LH or im wondering if anyone knows is it possible to mill out the AR15 FH and retap it for 14mm LH anyone?
Cobra 76 two 2,677
I have seen those adapters somewhere. Think it was K Var. About those allum. FH's, does anyone forsee a problem with allum.?
IndyArms 10,186
The TWO I bought are aluminum... they are not very heavy... and mount with 8 set screws.. I will have to find someone to take a pic of me shooting in the dark.... ALso... I only got them cause they LOOK COOL... not to really HIDE THE FLASH... although if they work as a muzzlebreak... and reduce recoil... thats just an ADDED BONUS!!
Cobra 76 two 2,677
I just want to see the fire coming out the sides through those slits and holes! Looks cool as hell on my 74 brake! fire fire hehehe yeah!
Diggler 0
There are two problems I can see with aluminum, they may or may not affect you. 1. Aluminum is softer, so it won't stand up to installing/removing with the set screws; the aluminum threads could strip. 2. You can't heat the aluminum red-hot to silver-solder it on to make the barrel just over 18" INCLUDING the flash hider.
