mastershakelock 9
It's taken awhile but I'm finally comfortable with my 5.45x39 ammo supply. At this price you cannot buy enough for long term storage. Lets hope prices stay affordable for awhile.
KC913 324
22 cans. Yeah, I guess that's a reasonable amount for 1 or 2 range trips. You may want to pick up a few more, though.

mastershakelock 9
I own 4 AK-74s and have spare parts for each, 20 mags a piece ect.. 5.45 will be the primary round I use.. you guys are making me feel like I went overboard lol.. I honestly didn't feel this was overkill.. just an adequate supply for that many AK-74s. Edited February 19, 2011 by mastershakelock
paprotective 362
I thought that 500 rounds for my S-308 was good for the winter months.. now I feel inadequate..

I PMd you the address come on over! I kind of look at it as an investment too.. I cant really afford to buy anymore but I know the price on the tins have nowhere to go but up. AK-74 has been growing in popularity rapidly the last few years due to it's effectiveness and cheap cost. I've convinced most friends and family to buy an AK-74 because of my supply.. so there welcome to share should SHTF.

Mak 3
I thought my 15,000 rounds was excessive.
mastershakelock 9
Don't put all your eggs in one basket either... I agree. I went with the ak-74 as my main battle rifle because family, friends.. even the women in my family have proven to handle it easily after training with them. It is not by far my only weapon.. but is one of the main platforms I would depend upon over a long period of time more heavily because its proven reliability and durability. I'm actually more focused on buying long term food storage that will last us 15+ years.. without food and creature comforts your guns may not be able to save you.
Mike1234567 26
Don't put all your eggs in one basket either... My thought also. I've been buying as many "popular" calibers in firearms as I can afford... and a minimum of 1K rounds per caliber... 2K each is preferable. Even so... that's a nice stash of 5.45. That's my very next step after buying my place in the country with septic, water well, PV's, spare parts, etc. Regarding food; I hope to buy "mostly" from one vendor in one clean/simple/fast swoop. Some are claiming 25+ years storability. Any advice??
