McUZI 1
What a dumbass.... I have no more sympathy for that idiot just because he happened to own a Saiga 12 than I did for that retard who tried to cross into Juarez with a Ruger 9MM, insisting that it was his 'constitutional right' to do so. Griz 1
"YAWN" [my reaction] It doesn't take a village! It takes one dummy who spent 4 years in the 4th grade before thinking he [or she[ knew it all and dropped out. The perp is living proof that somebody peed in his gene pool! For every member smart enough to act responsibly, there might be dozens of ignorant SOB's [sweet old birds] who will do as wish based soley on their own self glorified stupidity. Hell if I would have known that he was going to smuggle an ILLEGAL [Canadian rules] firearm into Canada, I'd of made the call myself. The point is if we are not contacting our congressmen and legislators then we deserve what happens, as we sat there doing nothing.
ozone_00 3
12HMASH? Never heard of that company before. Do they the saiga sks that the wisconsin hunter used to shoot that other dude?
Wolverine 10,360
Regardless of how brainless this guys' act was it is not good press for the Saiga. The more negative crap brought into the headlines and the more often it is compared with the AK and combat weapons the more likely it is to hit the radar screen of the anti gunners and BATF control freaks. You'll note the reference to the 12 gauge 8 rounders as normally being used for combat purposes. I wonder which Canadaian authority is going to be the proud new owner of a Saiga 12 and four magazines.
Integratedj 1
Damn, did you all notice the length of the barrel on their pic? Kinda long to be a 19in threaded version, and I have never seen a 22in threaded, WTF?!

twinhairdryers 2
I'm thinking crossing boarders with any type of questionable "hunting arm" might not be a good idea. Regardless of where it came from or how legal it is. If I was to go into CA with a weapon, it most likely be a 22 Ruger or a tamed down 308. dumassssssssssssssssss
G O B 3,516
Canada, being a communistwealth country, has made anything "evil" looking illegal. They are in the midst of dissarming their population. I have no sympathy for them. they are a bunch of sheep. Sheep go willingly to the slaughter. G O B
topmaul 42
I like Canada, and Canadians, they are good people, as far as their internal policies that is their business. We have the Peoples Republic of California and Mass here. So before we bad mouth Canada, lets square away our own house. If I choose to visit one of those countries I will comply with the law of the land you can bet I would know what the laws are before leaving the safety of my home. Bvamp 604
i had a pleasant experience when i went to canaduh. i am now registered incorrectly with interpol as a dangerous felon because of a botched criminal record that my prick government didnt record correctly. its funny, because every attourney i have gone to wont take my civil lawsuits against the state of new york because they all know each other. so screw me and my rights. my point is canaduh isnt the only unfair and facist country so i cant say i dislike them any more than anyone else. i regularly encounter canadians travelling up or down the taconic state parkway here in new york, and every one of them gets the middle finger and a cut off of two inches from my bumper. i dont like most of america, and i sure as hell dont like everybody else. the canadians are socialists. f them. i for one for my own various reasons will never travel to canaduh again. the story posted above surprises me not in the least. i saw a guy get caught with a boot knife at the border and fined 250 bucks and they were going to hold him until it was paid. hows that for pathetic? no WONDER they wont support us in our wars against the heathens.....they cant defend themselves at home. Bvamp 604
5knives: how did vang get shot at if they werent armed? i think he dropped who shot in his direction, then shot the one trying to pick up that guys rifle, and so on and so forth, and just kept going with it after that. ive had bronx boys walk right into my target range (which is posted), WHILE im shooting. if one of them thinks they can tresspass and take a shot at me because i didnt see them downrange from me, or because i scared thier stupid rat deer away, well, i dont plan to tuck tail like a little baby and run to call the police who will arrest me anyway just because they dont like me. they've done it before. and i sure as hell wont go grab a few of the local guys and walk up there unarmed. i dont know a single person that would do that. you go armed to the teeth, because you are dealing with a POACHER. why do you think the game wardens in africa just kill poachers when they see them? that is how poachers are. people are inherantly stupid by nature. its to be expected. it is just outright dumb to take a bolt action rilfe out with 5 people that all are somehow unarmed during deer season to kick a tresspasser armed with a clip fed semi auto rifle off my property. you are just ASKING to get shot. that is WHAT POACHERS DO. I just outright dont believe they were all unarmed and didnt provoke the asian poacher.
SaltPeter 6
There are too many Canadians in Florida. They used to really annoy me because I worked at a gun store that was attached to a "outdoor adventure" equipment store and they'd come in. They would marvel at the guns and want to hold them. Then they'd proceed to tell me how much better and safer Canada was than here because they don't have all those evil firearms.
Bvamp 604
why would one need to rob and steal when the socialist state pays for everyone and anyone to sit on thier asses indefinately for one....and the classic reply *I* give is that they have as many people in thier socialistic country as I do in new york state, except they are all spread all over the place. if you think about it like that, it kind of makes sense about the murder rate there.
topmaul 42
As far as I'm concerned it's thier country if they want to be socialists well let them.

I just outright dont believe they were all unarmed and didnt provoke the asian poacher. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmmm ............ Where to start! From News accounts and friends in the area (including LEO) here's what happened. (Short version) A: Vang is comfortably settled in a private blind tree stand, on private Land. (I do not know how elaborate this tree stand was, but my brother-in-law in his late '70's , has one with glass windows, kerosens heater and a propane stove in it. Very warm and more like a cabin on stilts, comfy!, I have seen a few that were extremly fancy, Bar, etc.) B. Mid-day, people who own and have permission are scouting the territory on ATV's. Common practice between 10 and 2 or 3 here. (Not hunting, but dressed in blaze orange, as the law and common sense requires.) C. Any firearm not unloaded and encased, with case fastened closed, in or on any motor driven vehicle is a serious violation. (Seizure of vehicle, firearm, forfeiture of hunting, fishing and trapping privileges for 4 years. $4000 fine and possible jail time.) Leaning a firearm against a vehicle counts! D. First ATV radios nearest that They have a trespasser. E. Vang leaves blind, stops 50-60 yards away, reverses orange coat to camouflage and starts shooting. F. Someone radios for help again and 2 more ATV's head to area from Cabin. G. Radio isn't clear, new arrivals don't know what is going on. H. Vang chases one wounded guy, says "What, you're not dead yet" and shoots him again in the back. This witnessed by one wounded survivor. I. Last ATV's arrive and occupants are shot, one while trying to get to cased rifle on earlier ATV. May have even gotten off one round, that is unclear, we'll find out in September. J. Vang heads back into the woods, and is apprehended an hour or so later. K. Result 8 people shot, 6 killed, 2 survive. ! rifle in the entire group. L. Initially Vang declined an attorney and admitted the whole the whole thing, "because they called him a Gook." M. After he got a Lawyer he changed his story and said "they" shot at him first. N. Vang had two hunting "buddies" also from the Hmong community in Minnesota, who have "disappeared", no one knows, never heard of them , etc. etc. Seems Vang's wife is the only person who knows they exist. O. Similar Murder near that area 3 years ago, private land, hunter in open field, wearing orange, the three asians leaving the scene match the description of Vang, and his wife's description of his 2 "hunting Buddies". N. From a very reliable source, The Elders of the Hmong community in Milwaukee have issued the order that what ever happens in Court, if Vang or his 2 companions are ever found in Milwaukee they are to be seized and promptly hung. Punishment for embarrassing the Hmong Community. Yes, their customs are slightly different from "Mainstream America". P. Long history of trespass, poaching, theft, and arson with the Hmong in this state. Lot's of hard feelings. Q. Vang owned prime hunting land in Minn. and was awaiting trial on 2 trespass charges there. (Already convicted on one.) R. My own hunting property is about 140 mile east of where these shootings occurred, but we've had problems with the Hmong for many years. In my area no one goes into the woods unarmed anymore. But if they're on an ATV or Dirt Bike, the firearm is unloaded and in a secure case. And before some whining P.C weenie tries to play the race card here, I worked with and trained Hmong people before they came here and spent the last 7 years of my working life, training and supervising them here for employment. I like them and respect them, and I believe the feeling is mutual. But the hard truth is they came here from a culture so different that most americans can't even begin to imagine how different it is. The behavior that's caused so much trouble was perfectly normal and acceptablr in S.E. Asia. The younger generation is fitting in quite well now, got their own street gangs and all, just like "real 'muricans". But the Majority are fine people! Well, that's the short version, it'll all come out in Court in September. regards Edited August 1, 2005 by 5knives
McUZI 1
Well, I have lots and lots of family in the upper midwest (MN)- the 'Hmong' problem isn't imaginary. Both my father and uncle have encountered uninvited Hmong while hunting on private lands. In their case, the Hmong simply played the Mexican Routine, shrugged their shoulders, pretended that they spoke no English and left. But after this incident in WI, everyone carries sidearms when hunting or afield. Edited August 1, 2005 by McUZI
G O B 3,516
A loaded pistol is a very good thing to have. Unarmed in the woods with armed people about is a bad situation to be in. There are thing in the forrest that are not friendly. G O B
