shifty_85 20
Hey all lurked for a little bit then had to jump on here. i bought a Saiga 12 not to long ago for 3 gun. only prob is it puts me in "Open class" so i need to make a pistol to be in open class. but i did get to run it in the team event. and it was nice not having to reload. i plan on converting this bad boy as well should make it fun to be in open class. Heres me and my team in the 3 gun team event. And my 3 gun load out. AR-10 with 30 round FAL mags. Saiga 12 with 12 round mag and my 1911. i am going to convert this. i had 1 ? we have alot of shotgun poppers to take out at 3 guns normaly very close. is a bump fire stock worth it on a Saiga 12 or does it just become to out of control?? Thanks all! Many more Saiga pics and videos to come from me

shifty_85 20
the pic of your team looks like centerline.... Nope its blue water sportsman's association http://www.bluewatersportsmansassociation.com/ they host quite a few 3 gun match's and for 30 bucks there is alot ALOT of steel to shoot. 200 hand gun 100 rifle 50 bird 10 buck 10 slugs.well worth the money. misterT 174
Welcome from Indiana, i just bought mine too, haven't even shot it yet. there is a wealth of info on here, read up before dropping any money on a conversion. There are sooo many options to consider, I will probably wait until after the first of the year to put some rounds through it and do some more research

Nice looking S12 i like that brake does it help out with recoil? i really like the monster brake. For my open class gun im going to buy a Rock island armory double stack 1911 and pimp it out. for now untill i get money rolling my 870 and normal 1911 always go bang and never leave me hangin. i can get the 870 to move as well. corbin 621
Welcome to the forum. There's lots of MI folks on the forum here. I'm from the Flint area. To answer your question about the slidefire stock, in my opinion, we don't have enough rounds in the Saiga 12s to make it worth it. I've fired full auto S12s, and it's over pretty quickly. It's fun though. Just not really practical.

Yeah think im going to save the 300 dollars and find a nice wood stock. i think AK's look good wood and iron. think my S12 would look cool with wood as well. flint eh? port huron isnt that far away and man do they put on a good 3 gun. and the championship match is always fun get to play with a full auto!!! 20 rounds goes fast in a G36. i always like being diff. so i run a bolt gun for a rifle *i own an AR-10 as well* but i get tired of seeing AR after AR after AR. so i took my 1965 Indian .308 enfeild dont mind the safety messing up *was loose* i love the shot gun parts. evlblkwpnz 3,418
The MOLOT brake works great.... and it is light I have no experience with the monster brake, but I think it may be a bit on the heavy side.

shifty_85 20
Got a few good bump fire videos. i need to put a wood stock on this thing its to light IMO slugs even with a very firm grip would throw the barrel up and to the right. normal low brass bird shot was fine. 00 buck wasnt too bad but still a little jumpy for me im used to my 870 thing doesnt move ha. ill post the videos when they are uploaded. shifty_85 20
Heres some videos of us messin around up north. didnt get as many as i wanted to. This picture is of a cement block i hit from 200+yards away with my RIA 1911 5" .45ACP with bullet guys hollow points. took 4 shots but i hit it. 1st shot about 2 feet high. 2nd shot 2 feet low 3rd shot 6inch's low 4th shot hit it square on. i may just use my 1911 to hunt with! Dont have to belive me i have myself and 3 other people who saw it. my buddys G/F trying to hit a pumkin *she didnt know it had exploding target it in it* but it was with an AR we had never sighted in either!!! so she couldnt hit it. Also these are my .223 reloads notice the 2nd shot throw a flame! Watch Lang in this she is getting frustated she cannot hit the pumkin....she shot the stem off of it with my AR-10!!!! she never did get it to go boom. Took the rest of us a while to hit it and when we did no one had a video goin. Diff pumkin we had dialed our rifles in finaly. these are 1/2lbs sonic boom expoding targets inside a medium/large pumkin. bump fire the saiga! with 00 buck! Finaly target we put a 3lbs propane tank with a flare inside the pumkin and straped a 1/2 lbs target to the back....well when i hit it with my AR-10 it punched a hole in the tank but the flare didnt set it off as the exploding target threw it. so as it came down the hill we shot at it still never lite up. So we wanted a propane tank to go up so we zip tied a flare to the tank and shot it. All fires and propane tanks were picked up i hate people who litter in the woods. all in all a good day of shooting fun was had by all and our hunting rifles are now MOP "Min of pumkin" just have to remember the deer wont explode when we hit them haha. shifty_85 20
i want to but a wood stock on my S12 when i convert it does it need any special stock or will any ole AK-47 stock fit? i want everything a normal AK has for wood. the stock/forearm etc.. Thanks all!
XdamagedX 248
The rear stock is mostly similar to a stamped AK, front is a little more challenging.
misterT 174
If you want a wood stock check this site out that VR6 shooter told me about awesome stocks at http://www.ironwooddesigns.com/IWDNEWSaiga_2.html I was looking for one for an MAK90 with a slant receiver, now I wish I had waited to order my conversion for the Saiga 12 these are awesome and they have several different kinds of wood, grip shapes, fore grip shapes, etc.
shifty_85 20
Why are S-12 wood stocks so expensive?!?!
evlblkwpnz 3,418
Why are S-12 wood stocks so expensive?!?! They are uncommon.
shifty_85 20
how true is it that AK-47 stocks will fit but the front will need to be milled or bought?
shifty_85 20
http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/saiga-12-pistol-grip-conversion-kit-w-kicklite-collapsible-stock-p-2797.html?zenid=135f8ac8da3235fa499b2ee1c8221fb1 Think im going to get this convert kit. with Houge pistol grip and the modded Tapco fire control group. is this a good conversion kit and stock? Thanks for any info! im excited to get this thing converted!!
misterT 174
I have not read anything negative on here about the Kicklite stock, and you cant beat Houge grips they ARE the best! You may need to do some tunning to the modified G2 FCG. Many of the vendors machine them to fit in the Saiga 12 but they still need to be "profiled" for smooth and reliable function with all amunition.
shifty_85 20
Yes houges are the best. my buddy has them on his ruger GP100 after that i went on a nut got a set for my 1911 and my AR-10 and never looked back. sooo comfy. that was always my biggest gripe about an AK was the little tiny strck grip. i have a friend with a mill. and he works at a factory and can take my gun in to work on it if need be. can this be done at home with basic's for the most part? shifty_85 20
can you make a saiga belt fed?!?!?!? if so how?
corbin 621
can you make a saiga belt fed?!?!?!? if so how? That picture was done By Cobra some years back, as a joke. Unfortunately, it's just a 12 ga bandoleer stuck into the ejection port. I can't envision a method to reliably make an S12 into a belt fed. I've seen homemade conversions on tube fed shotties though, but not sure how reliable they are.
haugpatr 972
I read a post by Bill Akins, I think that is his name, the guy who invented the Akins accelerator. Anyway, he claims to have designed something that will turn any mag fed gun into a belt fed gun. That would definately be a game changer.
