Good Looking Ugly Guy 12
Good evening gentleman. Well my first conversion is on hold till I get the right information. Using Tromix Fcg. #1 one issue is extra parts ( coil spring to be exact ) where the heck does this little jobby go. #2 is how do I get the safety lever to rotate past the back of the trigger to get into place.( I did modify the Bho in order to let the safety lver slide in )
theorangeplanet 968
#1 Should be your disconnector spring. #2 Pull the trigger and/or push down on the disconnector when trying to rotate the safety down... There can be clearance issues, and you can simply remove material from the safety until it goes forward (just make sure you know what not to remove).
KTM 72
Is the BHO cut out enough ? I helped a guy do his conversion last week. Thought I cut enough out to clear the safety. Had to take it apart and cut out a bit more ( just because the safety lever will fit in doesnt mean it has room to operate properly ) Edited February 2, 2013 by KTM

Good Looking Ugly Guy 12
Sometime's you have to grind the safety to clear FCG As you can see from the picture there is a lot of material to remove.
Good Looking Ugly Guy 12
okay got the safety installed... got to figure out why the shepards crook isnt holding the dang hammer pin. Why the hell don't this kits come with diagrams.

Retainer plates are much easier to install and worth the extra money.
Goldeneagle76 24
I highly recommend the retaining plate to replace the shepherds crook
sean8642 77
Retaining plate. It really is that good for the novice.
Run and Gun 25
Make sure if you order a retaining plate to get the one already modified to fit the S12 so you don't have to modify it yourself. CSS has what you need.
gunman1 1,753
I'd go ahead and get the retaining plate if I were you Sorry, but I just couldn't resist, welcome to the forum

poolingmyignorance 2,191
Don't grind the saftey. Grind the corner of the trigger leg! FCGs are cheap by comparison, and easily replaced. And are offten out of spec.

Why the hell don't this kits come with diagrams. I know I'm in the decided minority here but I always use modified factory springs instead of retaining plates on my own stuff. However, if I build a gun for someone else I use the retainer.
Bcrider 68
I had to egg the hole a tiny bit on my plate to get the safety to fit, but I'm a big fan.

mancat 2,368
FYI the safety can be rotated BACKWARDS to clear a troublesome FCG. Just gently lift the safety over the receiver rivets and safety stop as you rotate it this direction. This is how an AK safety has to be installed with a F/A FCG.
Good Looking Ugly Guy 12
well since I have 3 of these damn things I best get the retaining plate. But no one has chimed in on what or where that dang spring goes....... also does anyone by chance have a spare mag lever release spring

evlblkwpnz 3,418
well since I have 3 of these damn things I best get the retaining plate. But no one has chimed in on what or where that dang spring goes....... also does anyone by chance have a spare mag lever release spring If you are referring to the spring that makes about a 5/8" loop and has a couple of straight "legs" sticking out, that is the BHO spring. It goes in with the long "leg" forward and nearly parallel with the bottom of the receiver. The trigger axis pin is what holds it in. The short "leg" goes over the rear of the BHO lever. CSS has little parts like the mag catch spring. Edited February 3, 2013 by evlblkwpnz
Good Looking Ugly Guy 12
I was referring to the disconnector spring. Now I am just trying to find where to install that little bugger..... Everything seems to be moving well in the fire arm so I am stummped
poolingmyignorance 2,191
The disconnector spring goes INSIDE the disconnector... you have to disable the FCG completely to install it. Remove the "pre-assembly" sleeve , lift up the disconnector and there is a hole inside it, the spring slides inside. You'll notice an indentation on the trigger plate for the spring to ride in on the bottom. Squeeze it together and reinstall the pre-assembly sleeve. Then reinstall the FCG as normal. Bigchris 31
There is also a CSS video that refers to what you are talking about. He installs the spring when he is preparing the FCG for install... Its either the 2nd or 3rd video.

I want a 6' round, white room with nothing in it but a small wall mount benchtop and a floor that falls drastically to the center of the room.... with BIG X right there in the low spot
Good Looking Ugly Guy 12
That would be so perfect for a work shop assembly area. I don't feel so stupid now To answer the question how I did this. Look at your S12 and think other then black.
