Lower Receivers by Fitty%TACTICAL???

Recommended Posts

So some of you know I started CNC engraving and this week and the last part of the week before I started work on an AR-10 lower receiver just to see if I could do it.

This is the result and keep in mind this was just the first roughing pass and 2-3 more finishing passes will be done to give it that smooth look. This was all I had time for today though.....

Very nice! Keep it up brother!

Thanks brother! Hows your little NightStalker doing?

My only thought was... did you start with a BIG ENOUGH chunk of billet, to machine the lower out of??? ROFL!!! laugh.png

It was the only block of aluminum big enough at school. The block I use once I work everything out will be smaller lol.

That actually looks pretty cool in it's present state!

Yeah I like the machine paths as well but I think the last finishing pass will take them out.

Cool!

I'm jealous, we couldn't get away with that at my school. (it's still a public school)

Yeah they had questions about it here too. So I just called it a "paperweight" with an "unique shape" lol

Awesome work!

Not to that point....lol ............maybe soon!

That's awesome! Could they really say anything if you kept it at 80%?

You can send me an 80% if you find you can't figure out what to do with it.

I think your right. With them 80% or less they are just paperweights.

Cutting the magwell will give you some good practice at cutting some deep pockets. big_smile.gif

I think we are going to try wire EDM to cut the mag well out. Takes longer but its more precise.

You might try slowing the spindle down and not climb milling your final pass if you want the machine marks to stay. Give it a shot on a piece of scrap and see if you like the look.
