XD45 7,124
Want some nightmare fuel? http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2016/08/venezuelas-latest-terrible-economic-idea-is-forced-labor.html The government of president Nicolás Maduro has, in a new decree, paved the way for the conscription of the nation’s citizens into forced labor. The decree “establishes that people working in public and private companies can be called upon to join state-sponsored organizations specializ[ing] in the production of food,” explained Amnesty International last week. “They will be made to work in the new companies temporarily for a minimum of 60 days after which their ‘contracts’ will be automatically renewed for an extra 60-day period or they will be allowed to go back to their original jobs.” Socialist Paradise comes to fruition. Starts with free stuff. Ends with slavery. Couldn't happen here? Take a peek at the debt clock. Look specifically at the debt per taxpayer ($162,251), and the unfunded liabilities per taxpayer ($860,949). Over a million dollars of debt and unfunded liabilities for every taxpayer. This cannot be sustained, and it will not end well. Keep your powder dry brothers. Edited August 3, 2016 by Darth Saigus
yakdung 2,926
Wondering where all of the 100,000 AK-103's rifles purchased by uncle Hugo are hidden? Would come in handy about right now.

Sim_Player 1,939
I'm thinking that starvation is one of my "red lines" and government is then useless. The American alphabet networks are really ignoring this story.

XD45 7,124
When leftism fails (and it ALWAYS fails), the blame never falls on the failed policy, but on those who tried to stop it, or in this case... From the article I linked above: "And it would be a bit of an oversimplification to blame the catastrophe only on socialism qua socialism... it’s Maduro’s particular brand of socialism..." jerry52 893
I have close friends there, every year they would come and visit after there VISA ran out. They have invited us to visit but that is not going to happen. We have been looking into the possibility oF sending US dollars to them. This can only get worse.

The old "well, they/he didn't do it right" never ceases to come flowing out of the mouths of ignorance. No one ever does it "right" because it never works for anyone but the ruling class.
Long Shot 1,287
I have close friends there, every year they would come and visit after there VISA ran out. They have invited us to visit but that is not going to happen. We have been looking into the possibility oF sending US dollars to them. This can only get worse. We've Been sending dollars to my in laws there for years. It doesn't really do any good now, there's just nothing to buy no matter what the currency. Brother in law made it out with his little boy last week, his wife 28 years old died a few months ago because she couldn't get basic medical treatment. Would have been a day surgery here, there it was a fatal condition. Wife's mother and two sisters with kids still stuck smack in the middle of that shit. Now the Fat little dick-tater wannabe is offering 1.5 million free AKs for his loyalists. That should end well. What a fucking mess.

kevinfreel 215
Anybody ever think we should clean up our own neighborhood before we take on the other side of the city. You would think all the human rights progressives would be screaming about the starving Venezuelan population. I guess they don't want to highlight another failed socialist experiment.
