LOL Been there, done that. I had so many dealers/ shop owners try to tell me crap of what's legal and not. Everything from you cant build an AK from parts kits, to you cant cut a Mosin barrel down to 16", a pistol grip on a Mossberg 500 is for law enforcement only. Oh the horror of those guys. Yesterday I was changing the oil, plugs and air filter on bare ground wearing a sweat shirt. I wake up today to this; I got over a foot now and it's still snowing. I really cant bitch to awful much, it is the end of January.

That's all you need. I built my own flat reciever jig for bending them, trigger guard rivet jig. I use a ball joint puller to get the barrel out of the trunion. All in all, easy hand tools. Building AK's from kits has the biggest advantage of saying " This is my rifle, I built it." Not bought and converted, BUILT. I like them, sweet and clean.

Opening up a reciever and trunion for a double stack mag from a single isn't really that hard. 2 GOOD reamers from the tool store and a dremel was all I needed. I used the reamers in my drill press.
