  1. I beg your pardon, But Rueseller has always dealt with me in an ethical and fair fashion. But as I said, that was me and my friends.
  2. Cool, but thhe Saiga does not get the clasic AK rifle rivet group anyway. Just do as I said and you will be on a clasic Saiga 12 look. Either way, dude, looks GREAT!
  3. There are only TWO trigger guard rivets. Don't fool with the selector stop rivets, and I don't know where the other one you found comes from. ONE: in front of the trigger guard, which holds the guard to the raised front section, and TWO: the one at the rear of the guard, which after conversion will be under the PG. HAcksaw the importation cover plate just behind the selector stop. File the edge smooth and match the cover plate (back side) to meet the front of the selector stop / cover plate. Search this forum for relevant pics. It's the simplest and most looksome method--as o
  4. Have you made a buy from the guy on gunbroker names Ruseller? I was going to by a dragunov folding stock from him , but with all the hoops he wanted you to jump thru I tossed that idea. has anyone ordered anything from him with any good luck? I got two Saiga 12 mags from him. No probs, other than time considering they have to pass through customs of Belarus, Germany and then the US (3 mos total). He always responded to e-mail and was helpful/apologetic when needed. That was nearly a year and a half ago. . .so do what your instincts tell you now.
  5. There's nothing redneck at all about a knowledgeable gun afficianado enjoying exotic guns that most sheple don't/won't understand Oh, by the way, you can practice and learn to place most of the 30 rounds in, let's say, an IDPA or IPSC sized target at 7-10 yds from the shoulder (with the stock extended). I didn't know how it can be possible when I got my first AK and started bumping about five years ago after 30 years of AR shooting, but, trust me. . .it is only a few hundred practice rounds away!!! Good luck! And, ENJOY!!!!
  6. Guys: Regardless of what configuration it is (that's another can of worms with which we are all familiar), the fact that there is NO US importer stamp on the gun may be yet another huge can of worms. It is a huge BATFE NO-NO to posess a foreign firearm (even worse if it has 922 violative parts) that has no importer's stamp on it. Hence, the huge violation associated with the removal, or defacement of the importer's stamp. This tells the BATF that the gun may be a illegally smuggled-in gun. Again, this ain't me talkin'. It's the BATF's admimistrative decisions combined with the federal
  7. If there were detailed instructions I'd love to try it. I'd definately have to do a thumbhole style because of the deuche bag politics in N.Y. I haven't had to address this since the AWB, but. . .ANY state that forbids PGs on any firearm, views thumbhole stocks AS the SAME as PG. Be advised.
  8. I have seen what you have done work competitively in matches (before you challenge the relevance, remember that it also translates to survival of bad people and scenarios). However, please look into factory or aftermarket manual BHO devices, or even the cool LRBHO that has been floating around this forum for a while now. It's space-age vs. stone age, in terms of performance. Just my $.02.
  9. Veej. . .after a few PMs and my invites for you to come out and shoot with us at my club, I THOUGHT we were friends. . .but. . . I am pretty surprised to read the "dick weed" comment. Cobra asked me to get to know you to get you out of the house and shoot with my club, but. . ."dickweed????" What have I ever done to you? Forget about shooting with us. Our club is one of the largest and most important in the Southeast US. We have some of the best shooters in the SE and have ex and current mil, SWAT and spec ops people from this country and from abroad. You could have learned alot. We also
  10. FWIW, I agree with you in principle. (Please don't forget that: I'm not disagreeing with you.) It would definitely be nice to be able to say that 'My AK "can share .223 mags with all other .223 AKs in the world." ' (I'm not sure if that's actually possible, based on what I've read, but if it is, it sounds like an excellent idea.) In a purely practical sense, though, I must ask: how many different kinds of 5.56 AK mags are you going to actually own, if you're not a 'collector?' I'll admit it: I'm a certifiable WECSOG 'gun nut' (I've built multiple FALs, AKs, and ARs). Guess what? I've
  11. VERY COOL!! I have never seen a .223 AMD clone before. Good choice. You will find that the .223 is a great rapid-fire/ competitive gun. HAve you ever shot other Norincos before, so as to give us a comparison/report? How about Polytech (another Chicom) or ANY other .223 AK? I would love to hear a comparative report. Thanks for the inf! ENJOY IT!!!!
  12. It's all trial and error. I don't know which cinch you are using, but my steel $5.99 "jungle" clamps woork great in competition. Keep at it. You'll figure it out.
  13. If you do a web search on Dr. Fackler's findings of the "termminal effects" of all major mil calibers, you will find that out to 200 yds, the 5.56 mm is hard to beat for terminal effect, and, as you noted, it makes for a much better tactical weapon in terms of follow-up shots, a double-taps. You can carry more of 5.56 mm as well. Also, the ammo availability is beyond quesion now, and will be into the forseable future.
  14. With the SAR 3 I mentioned that had the headspace enlarged beyond spec, I had brass cases split at pretty much the exact place as shown above, and the primers were just fine. I was using mil-surp brass ammo with the traditional solid mil primer crimp, so maybe that's why I saw no bulging.
  15. Gentlemen: I hope to add some intel that will clear up the "problem." I had the same thing happen to me with brass case ammo with a SAR 3 that a gunsmith (if you have been on AK-47.net for the past five years, you may know the guy) that ruined one of my Romy .223 AKs by acid bathing it till the chamber and head space was ruined. What you are seeing in the photo presented is a simpe case of too large headspace. Remember that however much we love these fine guns, that we are buying Third World mfg techniques. Sometimes, the headspace on the Saiga rifles (I own those as well as Saiga shotti
  16. There was ony ONE S-12 through CDNN back when. I got mine then. The only one worth buying without a ton of mods was the 19: "defender" model, as CDNN called it. I got mine in 20000 for $269. That is the absolute best price on a desireable S-12 in world history--barring personal or news ad ridiculous prices. Today's prices are $100 higher. Deal with it, or get a Benelli. (good luck!!)
  17. Does that include the VEPR rfles: 5.45, 5.56. 7.62, and 3.08/qnd or 30-06?? They have traditionally bee supremely strong and accurate RPK receivers and withouut match in most AK rifles.
  18. No flame, but upon what inf are you basing that statement????
  19. You already sound as if yoyu know the answer to your question. A reminder, no amount of bad advice will overcome the guilt under the law, bud, if that is what you are trying to acquire.
  20. Folding shmolding. Who's going to put the grip up for target practice and swing it down for tactiical entry work. I think these are a gimmic that will eventually break and be useless other than to cut your hand on the non broken plastic. Oh - thanks for the link though! It's always good to save 10 bucks on something disposable. just kidding of course. Without going into a unnecessary abusive explanation, suffice it to say, that especially where 12 guage shotties go, a folding forend is more than a bit unnecessary. . .without good reason vs. the problems of a non -lockoing, ro
  21. I shoot the .223s and have shot the 7.62s. To be anything resembling competitive, you cannot run 7.62 against 5.45 or 5.56 mm. The recovery time for follow-up shots with the 7.62 s just too much too consider to even try to win a match.
  22. Are you sure bro, do you never think that the mags will feed with out alterations to the mags just the design of the bullet guide. By the way do you did that, or Chris buttler did it? LOL Sorry, I thought you understood that the mod required a bullet guide AND the trunion lug mod, or at the very least, the bullet guide and the mag mods. Otherwise, I have ten of them that work perfectly.
