  1. You can get a deal if you shop for a SIG 250 that is very easy to interchange. Start with the 9MM and work your way up. My 2 Cents Savvy!
  2. I suppose most of you don't remember the 60's or early 70's but the thought of a demise of the USSR was absolutely unthinkable! They were considered more powerful than the US and NATO. If you where around, isn't it incredible just how fast it vanished? Just a few years! Now tell me you think everything is permanent with countries and governments. Just a few cents. Frosty
  3. Keyholing paper shows that the bullet was already traveling sideways BEFORE it hit the paper. Even if what your saying is true (I'm doubtful), and just a paper target could destabilize the round, at nearly 3000fps the round would be well past the paper that destabilized it before becoming sideways. No, I didn't mean paper would cause key holing! I meant anything heavier than paper will cause it in good barrels! Yes?
  4. Gent's, The 5.45x39 will tumble as soon as it hits anything more than paper. It is very unstable by design. It is no surprise you had side ways bullet hits. My Saiga put 3 shots of Wolf WPA into a coffee can at 200 yards out of 6 the last time out. That's as good as I can shoot. Frosty
  5. I like how you re-used the Saiga block parts and gas tube. Really came out well and the gas tube gives it a unique look! Great piece of work! How do you like the stock? Frosty
  6. Century actually sells the 5.45x39 rifles with different twist rates! (check their web site). They go 1:7, 1:8 and 1:9. the 1:9 could be a problem with heavy bullets. The problem is they had twist rates in the 1:12 range (like original M16 .223/5.56x45) This twist rate does NOT work with long bullets. Remember: higher number = slower rotation / lower number = faster rotation Faster rotation = better stabilized bullet But If you shoot a .223 with .50 grain soft points in the fast twist they will fly apart from excessive rotational forces! The mil spec barrel in the 5.45x3
  7. The Fleet Farms stores have mil spec on the shelf for $149. Picked up a case. They also have Tantals for $409! Nicer then the one I have with the 8:1 twist (said it on tag). Also had crates of 7.62x39 mil surp as well as 7.62x54r. Happy days! Frosty
  8. Don't do it! Work with the feed (ramp, angle, mag). What ever it takes, do NOT touch the chamber. My 2 cents!
  9. Ruvido, Ciao! Does this mean you can not own a weapon in the Russian 5.45X39mm? There are a bunch of us who own the Saiga in this caliber. I've visited Italy for business and really like it. I am in the Hydraulics business and deal with many Italian companies in the northern half of the country. I've been to Bologna, Brescia and Milan but not Pisa. Welcome! Ciao! Frosty
  10. The question I have is Cadiz up and running after the fire??????
  11. I"m sorry to say this is a Vodka Special. Great photos by the way. Good Luck!
  12. Been there, done that! My Condolences! Frosty
  13. This is crazy! I've never seen keyholes like this. Did the gunsmith check the muzzle end of the barrel? It looks like the chrome is sticking out slightly. I'd have to say replace this weapon!
  14. But how could the first 10 shoot fine but the rest key hole? The first time you shot did you rapid fire? This round is a high intensity type that is very unstable. Just bullet fouling could cause this. What you have is worst then the CAI shit. I'd check the bore to see if you have some type of fouling. Might be from jacket material. Use a bore light. If the construction was bad all shots would be bad! Clean the hell out of the barrel. Then re-fire. Opps! Didn't see the note of the first 10 slightly out of round. Sorry, you'r screwed!
  15. HA HA! That's funny right there! Don't care who you are! bet he is not even a Seal (Runway Model!)
  16. Mike, Count me in for the 5.45x39!!!! Thanks! Frosty
  17. Gun Nut, That's a great work! It looks to me like a good copy of the newer Polish 5.56x45! See attached photo.
  18. Rifle sounds nice. Photos will help. Bump #2 Good Luck
  19. Yep, I had it happen twice. A .223 and the 5.45x39. First time freaked me out. Second time it was like clock work. Iike stated above, a little work with a flat mill file on the front of the trigger opening and oh ya! I've done 4 mods using double hook and one single hook. No problem with a dremel. Sounds like you have it handled. Frosty
  20. Move it forward and it Will look better!
  21. The AK expert is NOT! It's the hammer (easy to get wrong) or the hammer spring or the pin retainer.
  22. Is an Axe on the 922r list??????? Love it!
