  1. Maybe people are wising up? After seeing auction after auction, week after week, saying "There are no more!" "Get 'em while you can!", buyers are beginning to figure out that the mags aren't as rare as they were originally led to believe, so bids are getting more realistic. Gummerfan
  2. How about the Saiga logo, and the quote "GOT MAGS?" Gummerfan
  3. Anybody got any word on this yet? There's a good deal on a .308 I know of, and if there's any hi-caps available I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
  4. The mag situation is the main reason I haven't bought a Saiga .308 yet. Considering the money, time, and effort some people are expending to get 8-rnd 12 gauge mags, why is it surprising that someone would rather have a rifle that uses cheap and plentiful mags? Gummerfan
  5. I saw a Century R1A1 at the gunstore today. From what I've gathered on the web, Century FAL clones don't have the highest reputation. Anybody here had any firsthand experiences (good or bad) with them? What are the common problems people have with them? Also, are they inch or metric? Seems like there just aren't many accessories available for the inch pattern rifles. I've got a Century G3 that I'm very satisfied with considering the price, and I'm wondering if I'd be pressing my luck going for the R1A1.
  6. The reason sellers/gougers prefer ebay over Gunbroker and Auctionarms is that there are more idiots there who'll pay more. Prices are usually more reasonable on gunbroker and auctionarms. YMMV of course. And by selling on ebay, you're still keeping the prices artificially high, so either way, you're still screwing your "Saiga-12 brothers." I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, it's a free market and all, but don't expect a pat on the back. Gummerfan
  7. You said be patient! I just figured you didn't want to get flooded with a bunch of questions and "pre-orders." If you build them, we will buy. If the price is fair. (Like, less than another mag would cost.)
  8. Ya' want mags with that? (sorry, couldn't resist!) Gummerfan
  9. Yep, pretty much. That's why I still have my G3 and haven't bought a Saiga .308 yet. Gummerfan
  10. Another rule of thumb is that Foster-type slugs perform better in smoothebore guns, while sabot-style slugs are better in rifled barrels. Your mileage may vary, of course.
  11. To really sight in slugs, you'll need to try different brands & types. It's not unusual for even high-dollar dedicated slug guns to get much better groups with one brand over another. Or better groups with one kind at a given range, and better with another at a longer or shorter range. Of course the same goes for rifles & ammo as well. Gummerfan
  12. Mark my words, ss soon as this thing appears in an action flick, their sales are gonna go through the roof. Reminds me of a comment I overheard at a gunshow once: "Because it's more tactical, that's why!" Gummerfan
  13. While this is a nice development, I don't see it as an answer to our prayers. "Word of mouth" from this board alone keeps Rusmilitary and Marko perpetually backlogged. I wonder if the Izmesh factory can even produce enough mags to keep up with US demand. We aren't talking AK or M16 mags here, after all. What we really need is a US manufacturer who can produce enough to meet demand for a lower price. Still, it's nice to know someone's trying something! Gummerfan
  14. More positive feedback for TheHomelandSoldier to add to his collection! Real pleasure to deal with! Gummerfan
  15. A dealer near me had one a few weeks ago. The guy's a notorious price-gouger though. He said he'll let it go for $400.00.
  16. Out again! This may be old news, but I just checked the site and they're out of 9-rounders again. Gotta get me some o' them someday...
  17. Right on about the SBR matter, in addition to taking two perfectly good weapons and turning them into a clumsy boat anchor. OTOH, how's about hooking a shotgun to the thing and heading to the nearest three-gun match? :D I'm just wondering how long before one of these appears on a screen near you??
  18. Ever see something that looks so cool, but after you think about it, you just end up scratching your head and saying "Huh?" http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=30779707
  19. Nice to know I'm not alone here! If the zombies attack, my Saiga will be staying in the safe. I can keep the lead flying much better with my tube-feds. With the Saiga, even if you can change mags fast enough, once they run dry, you've got a club. And I can carry way more mags and ammo for my other weapons anyway. Try keeping your S-12 mags loaded in a hurry. Gummerfan
  20. KY Imports has the Saiga .308 for $239.99 in SGN. Even with shipping and a transfer fee that's a good deal. Don't know how many they have though.
  21. So, how do you do the conversion since the Shopping Cart is in Pounds? Do you just charge the Pounds to your card, or what?
