  1. How much do you want to do yourself? The part that took me the longest, welding up the unused holes, isn't even mandatory. The next longest was modding an AK47 TG, they are now available already to rivet on from AK-builder. next was modding a G-2 hammer to fit, they are available already done from Tromix etc. Deduct those three procedures and I would say about an hour. Cutting the PG T-nut opening is really the only thing left to do.
  2. Is this something new? The reason I ask is because the question has been asked many times, but until now, nobody has been able produce an definitive ATF ruling on it.
  3. nemesis, What size is the hole? From the pic it looks to be around 1/4". It may be too large for this, but, If you can get away with a 12-24 bolt, you could get a button head bolt and run it up from the bottom. Not ideal, but it would look a whole lot better than what you have now. black adder, Who has too much time on their hands? A couple of guys trying to help out a newbie or someone who just adds posts with no redeeming value what so ever.
  4. It looks like you are well on your way to correcting the problem. I applaud you at least having the balls to attempt a legitimate conversion and not use one of those bolt on T6 wannabe conversions. That are not even a conversion at all since you are still stuck dealing with all that mickey mouse trigger linkage. Just one thing, please tell me that, that ugly ass nut and bolt holding the front of the TG on is just temporary.
  5. The pic of the S-12 you posted in this threads first post is mine. Here is where I got the recoil pad that's on it. recoil pad Edit to add. I just went back and read the whole thread. I didn't originally see that you already got one.
  6. I bought one of these (at $375 for a complete M4 upper, the deal was just too good to pass up) it comes with a UTG quad rail. The thing is freakin HUGE. I realize that this is an AR version, but it is much bigger than the trirail I got from DPH for my S-12. The UTG is uncomfortably large. M4 upper
  7. Use this pic to compare how much clearance exists between the trigger and the TG, when it's installed in the correct position.
  8. The PG T-nut should not run into the old trigger slot at all. Take a look at this pic. You can see the square hole for the T-nut is completely forward of the welded up trigger slot. I just took a piece of scrap sheet metal, trimmed it to fit and welded up the old slot completely. The T-nut hole is at least a 1/4" forward of that. Trying to reuse the original holes that are in the wrong location, is what caused all your problems. For a TG, I just modified a standard AK TG.
  9. +1 restoring the gun to original configuration increases the LOP
  10. +1 Not just safety glasses but hearing protectors also. They are always in my range bag ready to go. If we had known of the long term impact of not wearing eyes and ears in the old days, I wouldn't be half deaf today. I know of no ranges that will let you anywhere near the firing line without both in place. It's too late for Me, but it's a good policy. Huh? could you speak up a little?
  11. I would have voted somewhere between Yep, no problem and Yes, but I caught hell in the process. It's a little tricky, but very manageable.
  12. Until somebody can show me an ATF letter stating that the puck is the countable part I'm not banking on it. Yes, theoretically it should be, but no one has ever asked for a official determination from them. They could just as easily be counting the carrier extension as the piston as in a normal AK, since they are not counting it as an op rod.

    Buck and Ball

From my take on the thread you linked to, ammo and other items which do not compete with forum vendors is excluded. Which only makes sense. If a forum vendor does not sell the item, how can such a post hurt them? Is there a vendor here who carries buck and ball? Edit. nevermind I see that juggernaut has just cleared that up.

    ACE SUCKS!

Ideally at a range, but anywhere, where it is one on one. I can say for sure that it is not at a BBQ with a bunch of folks milling around, while trying to keep from burning the hamburgers and fetching aunt Flo another ice tea. They should be taught from day one that the handling of firearms is a serious responsibility, not to be taken lightly.

    ACE SUCKS!

It takes a mere second for a kid to try to unfold the stock improperly, so unless your hovering like possessed Tinkerbell, with your hands on/practically on theirs, g'luck with stopping every improper action. Shit, even a harsh verbal command to stop, doesn't always halt a child's follow thru on action already in progress. The OPs anecdote doesn't tell whether the child was supervised or not, don't embellish in such a manner. Your obviously just looking to slam the OP for more, atop what was a noobs infraction of this site's preferred posting etiquette. What can be surmised from the s

    ACE SUCKS!

They are both disturbing. Gimme a fucking break... I sometimes refer to my firearms as toys and consider range time as playtime. That said, I practice safety like a religion. And just where the fuck does it say the child was unsupervised? It doesn't. Now go slam a shooter of Milk of Magnesia, and loosen up a bit. If the child was being supervised, why was he not stopped when he attempted to unfold the stock without pressing the button?

    gas ports

Then where did you come up with the -1 setting? Stock plugs have no + or - settings
  18. Six gas ports and no 922r? looks like we have a couple of guys who need to do a little more homework.
  19. JB weld is designed for filling cracks not large openings. It will never hold up.

    ACE SUCKS!

I'm not sure which I find more disturbing. The fact that someone refers to a firearm as a toy or that a child is allowed to handle it unsupervised.
  21. Yup, a total waste of time and uglier than sin.
  22. I learned long ago to stay far away from anything made by promag. They got me twice, there will not be a third time.
