  1. Well - good for the Redskins, but what this means is that their registered trademark goods are free for anyone to copy and sell freely. Unlike any other professional sports organization, ANYONE can market "Redskins" merchandise with no reprocussions by the judicial system. Anyone can have their own "official" Redskins" web site and sell "official" Redskins products. They just can't use the NFL trademarks in doing so - because they are still protected - so far. It's puts them at a serious disadvantage to other teams in the NFL - as far as revenue is concerned. Basically, they no longer
  2. Oh! I know. Even though most Native Americans (including myself) have no problem with the name "Redskins". The difference now is that it's been elevated to the form of government censorship. The Saint's and Padres will probably be next as "Religious" trademarks and get yanked. Macbeau...
  3. The U.S. Patent Office has canceled six trademarks belonging to the Washington Redskins football team, saying they are offensive to Native Americans. In a decision released today, the office's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board ruled that the "that these registrations must be canceled because they were disparaging to Native Americans." The board also said it lacked the authority to prevent the team from continuing to use the trademarks. The decision came in response to a suit brought by what the board called "five Native Americans." WTF? Now the PATENT Office is involved in Poli
  4. As I understand it, giving a firearm to a (non-felon) family is fine, but buying then "giving" or selling a third, non-related party is the no-no. There is also something about the timing. If you buy today and sell tomorrow to another party - possibly a straw purchase. If you bought 3 months ago, 1 year ago, 10 years ago or 50 years ago - and sold to Joe-Schmoe in a parking lot, in your current state of residence,, it's a "Friend to Friend" (FTF) purchase. Leave it to the government to make something so simple so ambiguious! Macbeau...

The same group that lobbied Obama getting the Nobel Peace prize for....? Community organizing? And if you are critical of his policies, leadership and vision, you are an extremist and therefor a racist. The same group that feels that government makes better decisions for individuals than individuals can make for themselves - and if you disagree with any of that, you are a racist.... Macbeau... 6. Basically, MOA = Minute of angle which is .0036% of any distance. IE: 1 inch at 100yds or 10" at 1,000 yds. MRAD - Millradian Scale which is 1 meter wide (39 inches) at 1,000 meters (1,100yds). MilDot's use millradian scale. Usually usung 1/2, 3/4 and 1 mil sized dots. As for magnification, the usual rule of thumb, at a minimum, is 1X of magnification per 100 yards/meters of distance to target. IE: 6x for 600yd/m targets, 10x for 1,000yd/m targets. Of course you can up (or lower) the power, but 1X per100 is the basic standard. Hope this helps.

  8. Don't forget about .45 LC. I have a 70's S&W M29 with 6 1/2" and love it with .44 mag and .44 SPL. .357 isn't a bad option, but I like big bullets. I have had two S&W M25's .45 ACP and miss them both. (one 5" and one 3") For bigbore revolvers, 5" - 7" seems to be ideal with moderate / stout loads. Macbeau....
  9. ^^THIS^^ Everything I have seen centers around blaming the parents for lack of supervision and content control. For a liberal, It's always the fault of someone or something else. Also - there are no accidents. There is always someone or something to blame that fits a liberal agenda. Macbeau...

  11. Okay - So I am at the Savannah International Airport yesterday morning, waiting to board my flight, and decided to check out what's going on in the world on my netbook. Free Wifi - no problem. I try to come to this site and get a notice that says "BLOCKED! Warning! This site has been blocked for reference: GUN". Huffington post? No problem! Citizens for a Gun Free America? Instant access. Gun Control Inc.? Whoomp! You're there! But Saiga-12.com? Now we're gonna control thought by limiting access to information deemed undesirable by the government? (I know... nothing new her

  13. A solution in search of a problem. If they wanna make me happy, get Federal .22LR value packs back in WalMart at around $10-$15 ea. Macbeau...
  14. I'll have to go look. I was just sent the pix. What would you consider a fair price for each? Without seeing them first hand, it's hard to say. The top is cobbled together and pretty rough. I would call it a "wall hanger" . It might have $200 in re-sellable parts, if you wanted to go to the trouble. The bottom looks like a flint to percussion conversion that was stopped mid-conversion. Bore condition would be important as would ignition system. Both should be smoothbores and .69 caliber. If it were me, I'd pass on both. Decent, shootable and correct versions of either a
  15. Neither one is a reproduction. The top is a French 1790 pattern fusil that has been shortened (should have 3 barrel bands and barrel should be 39" long and .69 caliber). Many of these were converted to percussion and became Potsdam muskets. I have a Swiss Federal Musket that is the Swiss conversion. The lock components (cock (hammer), frizzen, pan and spring) aren't correct or original to the gun. Might be a Potsdam that someone tried to re-convert to flint. The bottom looks like a 1842 Springfield, possibly an 1816 common musket. It has a percussion hammer, but has a pan for a flint

  20. All of us are confused. As I understand it, you basically want a straight-pull rifle in 308 with forward mounted, left-handed charging operation.?.?.?.? You seem to have a clear idea of what you want to achieve. If you think that system will do what you want, go for it. To me, it's not worth $140 for that specific convienence. If it is for you, DRIVE ON! And don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Macbeau...

  22. ^^THIS^^ - within 300m, I will go with more mass any day. But, it's almost a "9mm vs .45 ACP" argument. I also disagree that corrosive ammo is anything to worry about. You just have to clean using that deadly water substance and puppy killing Dawn detergent to neutralize the salts in the priming compound.. Oil, Break Free, WD-40 and Hoppes #9 are MUCH safer and environmentally friendly! Macbeau sends...
  23. Am I missing something? I am confused on how this will help with either the use of subsonic ammo or the use of a factory scope mount. The only thing I see as being gained is the left-hand carrier function... If that's the case, fine. There are several HK-style charging systems for the AK. Just not sure how they would help with subsonic ammo or scope mounting. Macbeau sends...
  24. We all have our "technology-getting-off-point" For my grand-parents, It was cable TV and cassette tapes. For my parents, It was cable/satellite TV, CD's, the internet and cell phones (pre-smart phones). For me - I am there. Actually, I was there 6 years ago. I understand the current technology and can use it, but I chose not to. I am actually backing away from multimedia, GPS and the internet. I once had a Myspace and Facebook account; but no more. I don't trust in the privacy of these things and realize the weaknesses in the others. "Social Networking" has the potential for "
