  1. Try touching base with someone on the forum here from Cadiz Gun Works. They handle most of the warranty work in the US if I understand correctly.
  2. +1 for larue. Its a bit more $$, but its in my opinion one of the best around. They have great scope mounts too for that upper, hold zero no matter what I seem to do to them.
  3. I have a bottle of cat daddy, its cinnamon vanilla flavored liquor, not moonshine. Notice the low alcohol content of 50 percent vs 95% of the real deal. Its good tasting, but not moonshine.
  4. Thought you all would find this interesting too. I didn't know that ammo taxes go to support wildlife conservation. How many here have bought ammo before they even got the gun? I may know someone who has done that before..... http://www.officialwire.com/main.php?action=posted_news&rid=43543 Ammo Sales, Prices Skyrocket Published on November 03, 2009 by EU News Network WASHINGTON, DC U.S. firearms owners have bought an estimated 12 billion rounds of ammunition during the past year, gun industry analysts said. The figure far outstrips the 7 billion to 10 bill
  5. bead blasting is the way 2 go
  6. Max sent me this a while back. It may help you. Grind in the areas noted with a fine metal file.
  7. Looks interesting. I got mine from Alumalite a couple months back, and like the fact that its screw on with no tools and one piece. Its almost double the price, but well built. If you are interested you may want to check out both.
  8. There is a lot of disagreement over this in the forum, but I tigged mine up from the outside and no issues as a result. It helped a lot as I had an under gassed gun. The likelihood of overgassing to the point of fragging seems pretty unlikely with just closing this hole considering how loose the gas system tube fits.
  9. If the radical Muslums didn't have us to hate, the Sunni and Shia would call each other Infidels and continue to kill each other in mass as they have for centuries! Depending if you are Suni Or Shia, its all about if their leaders have to come from the blood line of Ali (linked to Mohammed) or not to be considered legitimate. I equate the word Infidel to an individual who only accepts one single religious view, and needs a name for people who don't see the religious world their specific way and believes that all who don't will burn in hell. But hey, I know Christians who feel the same way if y
  10. +1 on the ammonia. Its all you need to remove the corrosive elements from the barrel, then clean as normal. No need to be scared of corrosive ammo, just dont leave your gun dirty for 2 weeks outside and you are golden! Thanks for the info Newbie!
  11. Thanks all for the comments. Bob- thanks for the correction in terms. It looks like a piston Vita- I didnt jam that bad boy in there. Learned a long while back the proper method to rotating the bolt etc. GOB- I only shoot slugs and buck at the range so leave it on #1. Its a weird one guys, but maybe a fluke. Ill keep you posted it it happens again and do a further investigation of my gas system. As long as no one thinks its an over gassed issue, then I think Im not worried.
  12. I never noticed it before. Not likely it was there before the shoot.
  13. Our prayers are with you Shannon. You are going to make it buddy!
  14. I know you will be just fine. You are too feisty to go that easily! Im sure it will be something like an infection or node thing. Good luck and keep us posted.
  15. Sorry for the double post. I used the back button on a post edit and it did this. Please reply on the other one.
  16. I only put about 20 rounds through my saiga 12 last weekend and noticed when cleaning that I had a good nick on the side of the piston. The only thing I did differently this time at the range was use a couple of rounds of 3 in magnum slugs. But I really only fired about 2 or 3 of them as they are too much for me in a 30 yd indoor range. Could the mag slugs have caused the piston to get damaged this way? I could not find any unusual debris or dents on the inside of the gas system. Is there any need to smooth it down now? Do I have an over gassed gun after my conversion? Appreciate comments and

  18. The finish is better and harder to remove on the 2001 vs the newer models. I think there are less issues with "vodka specials" too, the number of gas holes that is.
  19. The 12 dollar promag is what I use, and its solid and the price is right. My marine buddy told me this is what they use too.
  20. I feel you on this issue Az. I just don't understand why there isn't a single public outdoor range 30 mins or less from Downtown ATL with at least 100 yards open on Sunday!
