  1. I'm sure he's aware that the mag will need something at the top to prevent over-insertion. Some kind of "ledge" like the factory mag has on each side.
  2. I disagree with asking permission. The answer will be "no" even if it should be "yes". Asking permission is the same as giving up your rights, and once you lose your rights, you won't get them back. Better to ask a specialist in the specific field (private sector) that you are dealing with.
  3. It is possible that the supplier that they are talking about is Z1500, at least I hope so.
  4. I think it would help, you just have to find a place to mount it. Perhaps if you have a skeleton style stock, it could mount under the top bar. Or it could be somehow integrated into a cheek rest above the bar.
  5. You could measure the force in pounds with the scale as was suggested, but it wouldn't tell you much about "felt" recoil, because as Tony said it is a feeling and it is subjective. How the recoil feels has to do with how the gun is being accelerated and then decelerated. The reason that the S12 has less felt recoil is because the energy is being decelerated over a longer period of time due the movement of the bolt and the gas dwell time and things like that. So you could take and S12 and an 870 and register the same force in pounds, but the S12 would have less felt recoil because of its
  6. Curious about Andrei. Has he told you that he would make it right, send new ones or give you a refund? How long has it been since they were shipped? Does he guarantee delivery, or does he disclaim things like loss/seizure of the package?
  7. You can get the regular AK mag couplers with the fabric strapping from Blackjack and change the screw to a longer one and it works great. If you look around here you will see some pics of coupled mags with that setup. The only caveat is that with the plastic mags, overtightening it may constrict the shells from moving. Oh, one more thing is that a guy here said that with the recoil, the top shell in the outer mag will start to slide foward and maybe pop out.
  8. The problem with GunsAmerica is that the ads are not dated. I would be surprised if that ad is less than a year old because I think a real 12c would sell for more like $1,200 only because they are rare. Better to get a regular sporter version for $350 to $450 and do the conversion.
  9. I've cut it THREE TIMES and it's STILL too short!
  10. Looks like we just found our knoxx feed tower
  11. Keep posting pics Tony! Whenever I see that pegboard or that pool table, I know there will be some good shit on there.
  12. There are probably some better close-ups of just the mag extension. You would have to look on the Finnish website.
  13. Why wouldn't the Finnish guy sell them on here?
  14. Hey Z, great job and don't worry about the schedule. It takes how long it takes. I'm sure that you didn't realize how much detail and complexity there was to it until you got into it. (Or maybe you did, but none of us did) A plastic mag looks simple at face value but it is not, especially if you want it to live up to the durability standards that are expected of a military weapons system part, which is what this is. You did not start out with the intention of making some joke, weekend warrior disposible toy. This thing is a miltary grade mo-dicker. I don't know what a mil standard is
  15. Yeah, you're right. Filing material off = easy, filing material back on = not so easy. Also, I've seen some that needed to be filed down on the inside because the follower couldn't move.
  16. I actually don't know the answer, but why not shave the inside of the handguard instead? Shaving the barrel seems too risky.
  17. I think it just has to be a metric lathe

You should ask the guy to buy a few of those swat S12's and part them out to the U.S. He can buy them for under $100, cut them up and sell just the FH/front site, folding stock and some other misc parts to the U.S. for $300.
  19. Nice to see that someone is trying to make S12 products, but neither of those items will stand up to normal use. Way too delicate in design and material.
  20. Did you ever find out what the "6-g" meant on the M22x.076?
  21. The Russians already did the R&D and have it in production. Why reinvent the wheel? Just get one of theirs and duplicate it exactly. And I still think that you could modify old style mags to work in it too.
  22. The reason is fear. They don't want to get sued, and you know that they would if they sold a bunch of these to the general public. "Do you have a pesky door that won't open? Well, we have just the thing for you....."
  23. Tony - I don't think there would be a big demand for it only because it adds a lot of overall length. If someone wants flash hiding and choking on the same gun, then the trick set-up would be to do the internal chokes with flash hider(s) welded or threaded on to the choke. If OAL was still a problem, then you could do what someone else mentioned on the board a while back, which was to weld the flash hider to the barrel to get the minimum 18", and have the internal choke tubes with an extended wrench.
