It may be the same shop that had slant brakes available too. You'll need to do some searching on that. The .22lr "tactical" sport rifles have become pretty popular and I'm thinking of adding one to the collection. (I know, how tactical can you get with a .22?... lol) I have a Marlin 795 (like a mag fed Marlin 60) and it's fine, but I'm looking for something "beefier". To me, the operation tagline “Mastering the Human Domain” and training for house to house searches (gee... what would they be searching for?) doesn't really feel the same as "Operation Enduring Freedom". I have a Baby Eagle .45 I like a lot, it's a heavy steel frame mid sized gun (not well suited to carry IMHO). Also a Taurus compact PT-145 that is ok but I question it's long term durability (and I hate the stock sights). It was cheap, but it's been discontinued. If I was was to buy another .45 today it would be the XD Mod2. The double stack version of the XD-S. That's in spite of the silly "Grip Zone" wording molded into the grips. I like the looks of 1911's but just can't bring myself to buy one.

The pistol grip conversion Is not very difficult, but it does help if you've had some mechanical experience and know how. Once you get the stock trigger guard off cleanly, you just paint the bare spot on the receiver and put it back together with the new parts. You don't have to cut the square hole for the pistol grip nut, the bolt on trigger guards are great. Somebody on the forum in your area would be happy to help you.

Watching how this plays out as I'm interested in this rifle. Hopefully it's a simple issue to correct or maybe even a break-in issue. I've seen the warnings not to use the BHO mags..... Anybody know if the BHO mags possibly cause any damage to the rifle/mag in use, or if they simply don't run well?
