  1. HS Precision rebuilds Winchester Kiln guns. If you tour their plant you'll see a section where they do it. They are'nt too man portable, but look intimidating. Shell size was impressive too. lol.
  2. For me, I did not follow through with a conversion because I sat and studied the USAS mag and the Saiga mag, and the Saiga magwell, it became apparent that a lot of work was required, and at $75 bucks a mag, I could spend a few more bucks and get a factory Saiga 8 rounder from Russia. I'm not afraid of work, in fact I love to tinker, it just became obvious that alot of time, work and money was going to be involved for magazine that may or may not work, and would only accept 2 3/4" shells.
  3. Thanks for digging those up dinzag. I forgot those were so blurry! lol. Oh well. I though I posted more of the pictures with the measurements. The front shelf gap and the rear mag catch were the worst part of the deal.
  4. The USAS / Saiga cconversion issue is old news. Snide remarks? Please post where you found that here. Most people in the begining looked to the USAS as the answer to the Saiga HiCap mag shortage. Several tried conversions and posted results, I even posted several pictures here w/the conversion problems, do a search. As for as a non DD USAS, I can't wait to see it, if it is really gonna happen. P.S. Hope it will accept 3" shells. Been covered in detail here before.
  5. Thats the first I heard of the Remington conversion. What is your source? I have'nt seen anything on the other gunboards.

    Flechette Ammo

A friend of mine bought some "beehive" flechette shotgun rounds a few years ago and we took them to the range the next weekend. We put up a large sheet of paper to pattern the loads just like birdshot and almost half of the flechettes keyholed or were bent hitting the paper. The pattern was not real tight and needless to say, we were not impressed. 7. My vote is for the .50 Beowulf. Looks like somebody stuck one in a Saiga mag. Saw a similar mag comparison on I think on the website for the Beowulf.

    Veper 12 guage

Now that is what I'm talking about! Parts, parts, parts, I have got to find a way to get that gas block, top cover, and forearm. ....and cheap factory 8rnd mags too.
  9. I'm impressed! The fins just do it for me. Looks like it should come out of the belly of an airplane. lol
  10. That looks really good. Wood and AK metal. Good job BRG3. Can't wait to get mine.
  11. After Waco and Ruby Ridge do you really think anything is going to happen to the ATF. Smoke another one and dream on.
  12. Silas, It's kind of a moot point as those velocities and bullet weights would probably cause blunt trauma casualties if the projectile did not penetrate body armor. I hope you don't mind my asking but, does the deer in your area wear Interceptor vests? Ronswin Ronswin is right, you don't have to bust a vest when you have the tremendous energy behind 1oz. of lead.

    AK-USA

Thanks, I was Googling "the firing line", which is quite different from "firinglineoklahoma". I will give him a ring Mon. or Tues.

    AK-USA

I was the same way about my Krink build. I think by the time I get it back all told I will have spent way too much, but it will be the way I want it. Never heard anything bad about AK-USA just thought you wanted one converted the normal way. You could also contact Mike at The Firing Line, they are the ones doing my krink. What is "The Firing Line" website? Googled it and got a LEO/MIL traing range and a Forum and some other non related stuff.

    AK-USA

Tromix and In Range C2 http://www.inrangec2.com/ both declined the project. I want an AK74U sidefolder installed, AK upper/lower handguards installed, AK style front sight, AK rear sight installed, 922 requirements met and flat black refinish. It is going to be a time consuming build according both afore mentioned builders. Price doesn't matter to me, just a top-notch one off build.

    AK-USA

I'm looking for someone to convert my S12 to a more AK look, and was pointed in AK-USA's direction. Any one had any work done by them? http://www.ak-103.com/
  17. That came out really nice. Something about AK wood on a shotgun. Those not familiar w/ the Saiga expect 7.62X39 and wammo get .410, 20ga, 12ga. hehehe.
  18. Somewhat related PM sent. 300RUM
  19. --Or when it goes "click" it's probably empty.
  20. Hmm, I just pulled the mag outta my Glock 27 and they're in the rear. You sure about that? Most Colt .45 mags have the holes in the side of the mag. I have a 1939 German Luger and it is slotted down the side. (albeit for the follower hold down) My Star .40, 9MM, and .45 all have holes in the side of the mag
  21. Good timing. The Feb. 13th Shotgun News Knox Report column (pg9) has a little expose' on AHSA. Some highlights; The president is co-founder and chairman of "Stop Handgun Violence" Other founders are retired BATF agents. Also "friends and associates of John Edwards, Ted Kennedy, and Nancy Pelosi" This group is bad news with heavy weights in it ranks. The article is worth a read.
  22. This is the real deal, Im only waiting on some papers to come in at the moment, guns will be in my warehouse for shipping out in less than 6 weeks, but Im estimating 4 weeks. All I have at the moment is the 19" S12. Once I run out I will have more coming in mid-December. Now, this IS a live pre order, you will be charged when your guns ship out to your transfer dealer. If more orders come in than I have guns for, you will be notified and your order will be ready to ship out when my second shipment comes in. Here is the link to the order page: http://www.thegunsource.com/shopping_viewp...idprod
  23. Did RAA give any explanation on why the 8 rounders will not be imported. I'm curious if ATFE actually has given any indication in writing about 8 round mags or if its RAA dancing around the issue.
  24. TopGlock, you are not the only one selling the Saigas. We ordered almost 70 of them. But we are not taking money or advertising the guns until they are in the country, but that is not to say that we have not made this fact known to other dealers we work with. Having dealt with the Russians before on some other imports we have found it to be the best course of action. They may tell RAA that they have shipped, but that does not mean that they REALLY have shipped. We will be selling the fully loaded versions, as well as performing our own conversions to traditional atyles and advanced style
  25. NO IT DOESN'T. There are a few states that prohibit them due to state law, but THEY ARE NOT FEDERALLY CLASSIFIED AS DD'S. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was at Knob Creek a couple of years ago and offered to buy a Vietnam era flame thrower, the owner claimed it had to be transfered.
