  1. OK, bit of range data, I'm a first run drum guy, took the drum back to the range with the new gas plug which arrived as promised from Mike. As stated in my post above was originally having FTF and FTE with the ammo specified originally in this thread. I installed my plug per instructions. The plug bottomed out at -1 as expected per instructions. The Estate 2 3/4 Buck from Cabella's continued to FTE about every 7th round or so on -1 and +1 settings. (interestingly no FTF's at that point). With setting +2 seemed to clean up further, maybe FTF every 10 rounds or so. Dumped whole 20 round dru
  2. I tried two full drum dumps with the Cabela's bulk-type Esate 00 buck. It fits into the drum just fine but seemed to have the high-brass FTF and FTE type problems every 7th round or so(as has been well documented with some of the other high brass loads). Expect this to be fixed by the new gas plugs.
  3. bought a few battle packs, haven't shot it yet, it looks like nice ammo simply handling it. should have range report within 2 weeks.
  4. Very happy with my trijicon 1.5-4 accupoint scope, they also make this in 3-9x.
  5. Smiley----I've been looking at that ammo too. I've read that it's U.S. government contract over-run NATO 7.62x51, stamped with NATO emblem. All positive reviews based on my research. One more nugget---My Springfield M1A specifies to specifically use 7.62x51 rather than .308 because the primers in the NATO are less sensitive and therefore less risky for a slam-fire with that rifles semi-auto action.
  6. I had the same experience as "frr" with the Noble Sport in my 10 rounders. Rounds would not cycle up in mag fully and would be rammed in low just below the ramp of the receiver. I dremmeled down the side stablizing blocks(one on either side of the top of the internal walls of the mag) and feeding problems with this round resolved. I'd heard people say the Noble Sport caused a lot of fouling and that was not my experience but there is some kind of felt pad in the wadding which sometimes gets shredded up in the air and caused my eyes to get a bit fouled....no biggy on the range but something
  7. I found that dremmeling down the approx. centimeter wide stablizing blocks on either side of the top round helped the rounds to snap up more quickly and completely. There is one of these blocks that sticks out about three mm from the top of the mag body wall and support the top shell on both sides of the shell. Seems like they just made these a hair to prominent and thus grabs many shells too tightly, not letting them pop up completely or slowing the rate at which the mag follower and spring and push up. Worked like a charm for exact problem described.
  8. A few of my mags from the first batch came this way. Disassemble and flip the spring around. Worked for me.
  9. Hey all, I've got a different take on the problem and solution. I've experienced the shell getting fed low and rammed into the block beneath the ramp as described above. For me this has occurred with primarily 2 3/4 shells and seems to happen most frequently with the first five shells or so through the 10 round AGP mags. I put only about 100 Barnaul law enforcement shells through five of these mags, so kind of a small sample, but that was basically what happened. Yes, I realize others had reported similar problems so I did the light sanding and graphite dry lubing before going to the rang
  10. For those with a manual bolt hold open, why not store with fully loaded mag and bolt locked back(I believe this is the "lock n' load" condition)? Would this be expected to wear out the action spring.....?
  11. Sorry to be slow with this but if it is a Century trigger what exactly does that explain? I know the welded on muzzle breaks are an indication of Hesse, is the Century trigger another sign of his...work? Thanks.
  12. The rifle looks exactly like the one that I purchased "new" a few years back as well (I understand the stock yours came with was somewhat different, but the stock on mine looks the same as yours except the sling swivel is beneath the butt). Mine is stamped EAA and the folks there assured me that they didn't import any in this configuration....but seeing yours makes me wonder where these originated/were converted. Maybe a few were in fact imported in this configuration? Anyone? Bueller?
  13. [quote name='TonyRumore' date='Oct 25 2006, "My favorite cycling shell in the Saiga and the USAS is the Winchester AA Super Sport, and it cycled those flawlessly as-is." Tony, Don't mean for thread to get off topic but would very much respect your opinion in regard to above quote..... were you referring to a specific shell size/load (I'm hoping 3" 00 buck) or just had good luck with that brand in general? Thanks for EVERYTHING.
  14. The description mentions that the "rear sight rail" must be removed before application of the quad rail. Does this simply mean pushing the windage adjustable rear sight out or is there some actual gunsmithing involved? Thanks
