  1. Not sure if this was brought up before, but I was watching a repeat of the show 'Sons of Guns' last night and they were using a bunch of Saiga 12's to make a gatling gun, and also a taser/shotgun combo. One of the example pieces he was using was a shortbarreled unit with a chaos rail, the Chaos logo was very well shown on TV. Very Cool!!! Again, if this is a repost, my apologies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPUx5LNm_R4 Can't find the clip where the chaos logo is visible......
  2. Does the rear HK style sight require a 6-82 or 6-32 thd? Very very cool sights. Can't wait to see what the sale brings. thanks!
  3. I've been trying to for the last couple days but nothing but the main page of your website will load. Is there any other way to order from you besides the website? I made my last order with no problem, so I'm not sure what the issue is now. Thanks for any help. Bob
  4. Cobra sells the weld on ones. Haven't bought it yet, because, well, I'm lazy and haven't done the PM thing to contact him. I understand it works and fits/aligns very well.
  5. Mounted it, haven't got a chance to shoot it yet. Good to meet you, and thanks!
  6. I have an IOR 10 X 56 MP-8 on my Remi 700 (well, not on still waiting for the rings) and after some research found this to be a good long distance scope. What in the IOR line would be more suited to the Saiga, which obviously isn't the best (not saying it can't do it) for shooting super long distance? Also, since were on the subject, whoe sells a good selection of scope socks? This IOR is huge and none of the normal ones appear to be big enough. Thanks!
  7. Pretty cool. Car and gun. Still have the twin turbo supra too? Carful running those mags before you convert.
  8. Yes, please keep us posted. I'm really new to the browning, what would be the benifit/value of buying a complete one from you as opposed to buying all the parts kits and such? Would a tripod be included? Very cool gun, and in .308 so I don't have to get more ammo. Cons - very large, tough to hide from wife.
  9. Not sure if this is applicable or not, http://www.thevestguy.com/category.asp?id=174 This is stuff for saiga 12 mags which are gigantic. They will probably work for what you are looking for. Bob
  10. It seems that there is a lot of mis-understanding here. We have 3 major issues going on here that seem to be overlapping and causing confusion 1 - Buying American vs Foreign - This is largely opinion based, to truely answer this question, you can't use quality and price as deciding factors, it must be a fundamental decision, otherwise it is a price issue, or quality issue. 2 - Preference - When someone says, "I swear by *insert company here*" there are some here that think, 'wow, this person has tried every comparable product available and likes this one best' as opposed to the tru
  11. Yes, that thing is super cool. It takes the place of any flash hider or choke adapter correct? Wonder what sort of mods could be made to use this and another barrel attachment, maybe threading the barrel further, and screwing this further on? Looks like there is enough room between the end and the foregrip. In any case it is on the list. Thanks for the pics, the MAA ones kinda suck.
  12. Just ordered! I preordered the quadrail and another one of your packages. Will everything ship once the rails are done, or will the in-stock stuff ship right away? Thanks!
  13. OK, that sounds like my problem (need to build up the safety). I missed the tacked post. Kind of sucks, but glad I asked. Yes I definitly want the safety working correctly before using. Thanks!
  14. Unfotunately I did not play enough with the preconverted saiga, so I'm not certain how the safety 'used' to work. If I have the safety off (down), I can pull the bolt back and load the chamber, then I can fire. If I pull the bolt back, let it go forward, then move the safety lever up, I can still fire. If I have the safety closed, pull the bolt back to the safety point, I can still fire. Fire, in all these cases meaning I can pull the trigger and the hammer springs. Is this correct? Bob

  16. So, last night I finished assembling the 308 with the parts I have. I attached a pre converted pic and 3 post conversions. I'm temporarily happy with the handguard, but will be looking for something different. I like the stock, but think I'm going to get a rear plug and a folder attachment and a more conventional skeleton or AR style stock. The angle that the tapco sits bothers me. I decided to weld and grind the TG, which I think functionally is great, but you can see my grinding marks. I'm hoping once it gets blasted and duracoated (sometime in the future) it will look better.
  17. When I was watching the movie I remember thinking (when Wickus was asking the Nigerians for AK's) if any of them were Saigas. Awesome, Awesome Movie though. Bob

    Grip Problem

That is exactly my problem Thanks! I'm not sure it is as big of a space as you show, so I'm going to try to grind a little more off my grip nut before I go through the trouble of making the washer, but a really good idea if it comes to that. I mostly wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something totally wrong, or missing a step some where. Thanks guys!

    Grip Problem

I don't think thats the problem (not positive) nor do I think the washer trick will help. When I tighten the bolt down the bottom of the head is digging into the plastic (where the head should seat), it's like the square protrusion of the grip nut is longer than the well in the grip, so The most obvious solution is to grind down the grip nut, but I'm not sure that is wise or recomended.

    Grip Problem

Still in the midst of my conversion (haven't had much time and my welder gas ran out). I was test fitting my grip with the grip nut: http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/se...K47-Grip/Detail http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/se...-47-AK47/Detail And I couldn't get it to tighten down. I could tell everything was bottomed out but I couldn't get it to snug up, it's as if the grip nut is too tall. Is it normal to have to grind that down? Thanks! Bob
  21. Wow, I actually forgot about the different shell lengths (been awhile since I shot my remy 870) thats good to know that they both will fit. Thanks!
  22. I know, no such thing as a dumb question. I'm really bad at serching and couldn't find the answer spelled out so I can understand it. What can we shoot out of our S-12's? Slugs? Shot only, what size? Thanks for the help. Bob (I'm converting my saiga .308 right now, and waiting for deliver of the 12, so not a total newb)
