  1. definately think the barrel threading is worth it.. Also I like the feel of standard AK handguards.. Tried several different options and always come back to them- I guess theres a reason they've been used for over 50 years.
  2. Or just say fuck it with airport security and roll the dice when you fly whether or not your plane will make it to your destination. The underwear bomber had a sufficient amount of plastic explosives in his drawers to bring down the aircraft it he had employed and detonated it correctly instead of lighting it on fire. Just saying. Everytime you get in your car there's a chance you won't make it to your destination, and it's a bigger chance then happening to be on the same plane as the underwear bomber, who wasn't stopped by security anyway- they will always find a way if they are
  3. Wow.... Errr how much do the tanks run? Really cool stuff guys!
  4. I really thought this was going be a joke.. Good for the French though, good vid
  5. Uhh.. how do they not realize the demand.. Oh until it's specifically requested we won't import something that's guarenteed to sell..
  6. Dunno if it's just romania so much as the components used in wasr- normally substandard to keep costs down.. Draco use better parts and are also romanian, better quality in general than wasrs. Also Romy-g kits have been turned into some outstanding AKs. WASR is really it's own deal.. I wouldn't put all romanian rifles into the same category. BTW I love my wasr.. It's my crappiest ak and it still ROCKS. would trust it with my life.. And since it's a .223 I don't mind saying I'd grab it before my AR any day. Actually hoping to do a side by side video at some point to compare them.
  7. Seems like the terrorists won this fight. Now all they have to do is blow up a few busses, cars, supermarkets, offices and we'll have be to frisked everytime we move. Who's gonna be laughing then? At least we'll all be safe! Or maybe someone will realize that while a deterrent, nothing the TSA can do is foolproof. If someone wanted to take a plane down I'm sure they could. The bigger deterent is the way our foreign policy reacts. Having said that I REALLY doubt a plane will be used as a missile again, passengers know whats up now, the worst that could happen is they manage to blow one
  8. BH is probably closer to you then. From my limitted experience it's more crowded, though I've only been there a couple of times when TP WASN'T closed.. of course it's packed when TP is closed.. I think it tends to be more popular in general because it's closer for charleston/north charleston whereas TP is better for us who live miles down 17. also less lazy now, so heres the BH coordinates for any interested 33.214137,-79.762491
  9. Yeah, twin ponds would be closer for you I believe, it's on 17 (more or less).. Busy time is any time people are off work, if you can get out there on a workday at midday you often get it to yourself (I have a wierd job and enjoy this). TP does have about a 70 yard walk from the car park- I've never thought of it as being a problem but now that you mention it is a bit inconvenient. I've only seen a "shady" looking character once and he wound up being really friendly, although he was handling a loaded revolver on a "cold" range behind the firing line, that's actually the most concerned I've eve
  10. Think we're getting into extremes for the sake of safety.. You know what would be safe? Chipping all of us and monitoring to make sure we didn't go anywhere dangerous or go anywhere above the speed limit, monitor our blood alchohal content while your at it just to make sure we don't get into a circumstance where we might make an unsafe decision. Or just keep us all on house arrest... When do we ban cars? They cause tons of death. I'm getting tired of safety being used as a tool for tyranny. I'd rather be free and in danger than a slave in safety.
  11. I'd be suprised if it was any different from a standard AK sling. Ruskies have the "if it aint broke don't tacticool it" mentality. Wouldn't expect anything fancy.
  12. dang, so it's not sharp.. nor comfortable.. Personally as long as it had a good cover I would of prefered it sharp.
  13. I may be too drunk to be fair on this.... but did he actually hit it? and from the sound it seemed like he wasn't far from it.. What the shit
  14. Good thing about wasrs is as long as only the front sight block is canted it's an easy fix. I only have one WASR and after some work I like it a good bit. Older ones may have trigger slap. Although right now they seem overpriced which would have me looking elsewhere, but then again everything is going up in price atm. If you can go to a gun show and handle a wasr for yourself to check it for faults it's definately preferable to ordering one you havn't seen online- you can pretty quickly check for the known issues.
  15. let me know, if it's open I may go. TP is my go to range (about 15 minute drive instead of 25 for BH) but the last time I drove out to it (2 weeks back) they had just done a controlled burn and it was closed until further notice.. So I went to BH. TP is identical in every way except the car park is a bit farther back. And sunny- it's as close to no rules as possible.. (I actually didn't know about the water jug thing but I only bring paper targets taped to cardboard boxes there anyway) People tend to put anything anywhere. Heard stories of RC cars with balloons tied to them, little boat
  16. Meh, don't bother argueing with Bvamp.. Tells me I'm thinking I'm superior to him and strutting my shit, then says he wouldn't want me in his neighborhood due to my beliefs.. And calls me the hypocrite- You can't argue with that sort of person, and frankly I'd given up except the thread was revived. I reckon this thread either dies or goes to fightclub pretty soon. And btw that video was pretty horrifyng, not for the religion, but for the hatred the child doesn't even understand but is well on the way to accepting.
  17. Oh damn.. I just asked if it was boggy head in your other topic- recognized it instantly! Was there two weeks ago. Is twin ponds still closed due to the brush fire cleansing?
  18. That range is identical to Twin Ponds and Boggy Head... In fact that parking lot is the same as Boggy Head.. The water puddles are even where they were 2 weeks ago when I went there, although there was less grass. I know they build a lot of them the same so is it actually BH or does your area just have the exact same setup? edit: found your other topic.. so it is boggy head- I know my ranges well!
  19. "black" rifles are dryng up around my area.. The big stores still have plenty, but latly the average smaller gun/fishing store is having problems keeping them on the shelf- except one that has abused wasrs for like 700... Havn't seen this few since the Obama scare. I think some stores are even just pricing one or two at retarded prices because the owners feel their store reputation sits on having at least a couple, and if they sell at retarded prices all the better for the owners anyway.
  20. Yep, I'd say that was good. Nice group.
  21. Yeah I hate to agree with them but 300 was a steal. And frankly if I was running a table and could pick up a gun and resell it higher I would. That's how gunstores/dealers work, find it cheaper, resell it higher.. You just see it happen faster at a gun show and with you as the supplier. May take him longer to sell it but he's gonna be sitting there anyway so it's not like he's losing any time. How would I feel about it? I don't think anyone can rationally feel good if they get less money then they could have.. But I don't have a problem with it ethically.
  22. Edit: just reading this thread and realized I was drunk when I posted pretty much the same opinion a few days later.. Woops
  23. definately would be interested in seeing those as well.. Did you do any 7.62 MC?
