  1. I can't help with the conversion part but my gas puck is always a little stuck after a day of fun. It's nothing a few light taps with a wooden dow doesn't take care of though.
  2. Just remember the ports are at an angle and not straight up and down.
  3. That's all we're saying and if you want get you some federal bulk from wally world and just for shits and giggles give those a try. Just remember high brass on setting 1 and low brass on 2. If you you do try the federal and it don't work just shoot some high brass and try the federal later. If you do still have a problem you can still send it in and get the work done. Be sure to let everyone know how she ran. There's a lot of knowledge here (present company excluded) that can help you through your problems if you have any.
  4. Welcome to the forum and the addiction.
  5. I think what everyone here is trying to explain to you is that you have no idea if your s-12 works or not. You are just assuming that it won't. I'm not sure how the warranty work goes but picture this you send your s-12 in without firing it and say the gas ports are to small. Then warranty company takes your gun after you ship it to them they load it up and it works fine. Same company sends s-12 back to you on your dollar and says your gas ports might be small but your weapon fired all ammo we tried. It is very simple to avoid this situation. Just grab your s-12 and some rounds go outside
  6. Listen to them shoot it. If you have FTE's you know you have a problem it might surprise you and eat whatever you throw at it.
  7. I don't believe there is a certain serial number range to avoid a "vodka special" it is more hit or miss. If you want one get it take it out get used to it and the ammo you choose. If you find a problem with the gun that isn't fixed by changing ammo or a little polishing I'm pretty sure it can be sent in for warranty work to a buisness member on this forum as long as it is in the original sporter configuration.
  8. No one here is trying to pressure you to restore your s-12 but I promise you as soon as you handle one that has been restored you will feel the difference. They feel much better set up the way they were meant to be. I can tell you the hardest parts of the restoration are waiting for the parts, the friggen fraggen retaining pin (this was the only pain I had and I wished I had a plate instead), and finding a way to get the non twist lids off of your beverage of choice (lost the bottle opener). Do some research here there is a ton of info and ask questions anything you need to know someone her
  9. Glad to see we don't have to put up with a$$holes like that.
  10. A buttstock for a stamped reciever will slide right in. (maybe a little fitting needed) The handguards I know there was a forum member working on a set up for this and I'm not sure if there is one for you to buy. There are other members who know much more about and will fill you in. There is a lot of info on this forum if you haven't tried searching here. Also, welcome to the addiction.
  11. I've been waiting for the DS. I have held off on buying to many mags because I wanted the DS and now very soon a few could be mine. Can't wait to see your design Mike and to see how well they work as I know they will.
  12. I would definately use the retaining plate that damn sheppards crook was the only pain I had while restoring my one and only.
  13. Chalk another A+ for Bobadebt. Like new puc, easy to deal with, and fast shipping. What more could you ask for.
  14. I ordered the tri-rail last night no problem. The order is now being processed this was around 6 central time last night. You might want to give it another shot Daniel17319 or give them a call. From what I hear they have great customer service. I just wouldn't miss on the sale.
  15. First off welcome to the forum. I don't know if you are at all interested in doing your own conversion, but if you are there is a wealth of knowledge here both in the members and the material. If you don't want to try it there are plenty of buisness members here that can do what you want them to. Just check the material here and there are a few video's on you tube. Check that before you make up your mind because if you are just hitting the basics it really isn't that hard.

    Folding stocks

Yeah I looked at the prices of the one in the pic and that's a few to many pennies. Looks good but I'm looking for something a little more economical that preforms good.
  17. That is an amazing deal if it is ligit. I've stared at those Rec 7's at my local shop. On another note if you do go with the Chaos rail and sights I would be interested in the Kreb's if you have no use for them. I am amazed all that for $200. Congrats

    Folding stocks

I am looking into folding stocks and had a couple questions. I really like the look of a full stock that folds like an AK-74M but have been unable to find an AK-47 variant and was unsure if the AK-74 would mount to an S-12. Also I was looking at the Ace club stock. The damn thing is like my bulldog it's so ugly you want to play with it but, I was wondering if any one had any experience with the ace on an S-12. Thanks for the info.
  20. I had the same problem when I finished my conversion. My problem was the trigger spring and you should be able to notice this just by looking. I posted and got the help I needed. I had to twist the rt side spring clockwise to get it to set nicely. I am a little slow on how to add that link here. So, I will just tell you how I found it. I posted on Jan 3 2010 and the title to my post was My baby is sick. I searched that title and my posting was on page 8. I also put a pic of my problem so you will be able to compare and see if yours is the same. Good luck.

    My baby is sick

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the help and that I adjusted it yesterday. I had to wait for my neighbor's wife to leave today to test it (she's not a big fan of guns) but before she was at the end of our street I dumped 8 rounds through her with no problem . I will have to wait till I can get out to my parents land to really test her but I am sure the problem is resolved. By the if you didn't already know these things are a blast to shoot.
  22. I just finished my conversion last week and took her out yesterday and had a problem. She cycled fine ejecting and loading but it seemed the trigger would not reset in semi-auto fire. If I racked in manually or even if I just pulled back and cycled it half way manually it would fire but never on semi-auto. I did notice when I was doing the conversion that the spring coming from the hammer to the trigger on the right side did not sit right and I believe this is my issue. Just wandering what some of you thought and the pic will show you what I'm talking about. If this is the problem what is
