  1. I don't even look at the sights that came on mine. New sights would be the very last thing I would buy for my S12s.
  2. 3" or 2 3/4" 00? Maybe Promag has addressed some reliability issues. Nothing against the company, but you are the first person I have ever heard of having good luck with a PM stick mag without having to do something to it. You may need to buy a Lottery ticket, lol. You are having a run of good luck. Run some low power ammo through your S12 and report back. Sounds like you had some fun with it. After it is restored, you will wish you did it sooner
  3. OP, My deepest sympathy and welcome aboard. You may not be able to get truly evl with it, but at least you can own the damn thing there. There are quite a few members from Commy that can help steer you in a legal direction. +1 on the 'get the hell outta there'.... you are behind enemy lines
  4. Hmmmmm. Shhhhh..... I'm having evl thoughts of getting at least 10 more now that I know I like them.... Me too! Well, maybe not ten, but a few! I didn't realize they had them for $100. This is bad juju, Bawana....
  5. At $250 it may be a while before I get the AK Builder rivet tool. I may be able to come up with something else that works. This should be fun. I'll post pics. I still can't decide which S12 I want to put it on, so I have a minute.
  6. Pin is a slight press fit Reciever rivet holes need to be formed for the tapered head rivets I have to make the scope rail rivet as it needs to be a little longer Rivets install with AK reciever press rivet tool Hope this helps Also it,s more likly a 4.5 bulgarian set Info appreciated Niner and ST. This is a different stock than the one I got from you. I mic'd the pin it is a 5.5mm. I paid for that pin too, lol, but it was still a better deal than I had found anyhwere else. Very pleased. Thank you donkismash.
  7. You are FUNNY! I noticed in the video that when the drum stops running your finger gives a couple of extra trigger squeezes! lol The finger wants to RUN baby... BTW, doubt that the winchester going out of round is the real issue here ... wouldn't think that pulling the bolt back and releasing it would fix that "problem". I think winchester sucks pretty bad, but likely more of a low power problem ... so not getting a firm shoulder (i.e. your pad on shotgun) is more likely the culprit. If we were diagnosing, I'd want to see what a factory mag (or known "good mag") did with the wincheste

  9. I was talking about the drum dump, like this.... not the blowjob again, video or it didn't happen.... Whats the reason your not getting a constant cycle through your whole dump..... Dump Video 1: Winchester Universal Bulk pack is the main reason. The thin hulls become out of round easily (like when being crammed into a 20 round drum)and they were catching in the deepest part of the extractor slot. I filed a little there and will test again soon. There was a rough spot in the action where the bolt locks and unlocks that I couldn't identify well until it mushroomed from f
  10. I bought the whole deal from a non-business member here.... well actually at akforum too. It came with the ultra long one for the top rear location, the small ones, and the one for the scope rail. The latch that came with it is really beefy compared to the DPH kit that I got.
  11. Well.... it looks pretty straightforward and simple as far as the fitting/cutting goes. I'm good at laying out things, but I have never used these type of rivets. How do I swell them properly inside the reciever? Any tips/tricks greatly appreciated. Also, the hinge pin doesn't quite go into the trunnion or stock. They all mic within a couple thousandths of one another. Am I supposed to fit the trunnion and stock to the pin, vice versa, or just lube them and press the pin in? I still need to order the correct latch. Anyone have an idea of what a fair asking price is for the original lat
  12. Well its literally the same unit as RAA is getting. The issue is not with quality but rather with price point and the availability of continued product out of competing importers. I was being sarcastic about them supposedly 'being made using only "mil spec" parts'. I guess they are trying to tell us that the sporter 'fudd' stock and goofy trigger setup are "mil spec." Yeah, I can see the Spetz carrying a sporterized S12.

  14. Not enough punch to shoot from the hip and reliably cycle the action. Keep the stock firmly planted, and your reliability will likely improve. Hi Mike, I agree about holding the weapon very firmly. Soft buttpads can cause problems with FTE too even when firing from the shoulder. You are better off removing the buttpad when firing low power loads. The pad or rearward motion of the gun tends to absorb some of the recoil that is necessary to cycle the weapon. If you have seen any of my videos, this is why I tend to really pull the weapon hard into my shoulder when I get in the ready posit
  15. Did you ask for straight sights? I went through this with them on three weapons in a row. Simply put, they do not know much about AKs. Super nice people and I finally just asked them to send me an S12 because I was going to tear it apart anyways when I got it. I'm still not sure if I will buy from them again when it comes to a Kalashnikov unless they have a ridiculously low price. Here is an intersting thread at arfcom about my experience with Classic Arms Read the whole thread.
  16. Hey, who got a blowjob?!?! I didn't get one!!! That's bullshit! I guess I have to pay $250 for that package deal. . P.S. 20 round drum dump went awesome. Worth the wait. Post link to video.... or it didn't happen.
  17. I may be making some of these soon. I'll post here if I do. I will probably do a run of 20 and them evaluate my time invested and decide whether or not I want to sell any. I already have everything I need to do it.
  18. Quote from KVARs site: " Made using only new mil spec. parts" Well then.... I guess I can't wait until someone converts one so I can get my hands on some of that 'mil spec.' furniture and a 'mil spec.' fire control group. They intend to sell these for $529 to people that don't know any better.
  19. Very true. Sometimes I assume that others are 'master tinkerers' too. Cameron is right, it would depend on your skill level, but it isn't that hard. The thread alignment tool mostly eliminates the likelihood of crooked threading unless you are a real idiot. i'm not sure how you would crossthread it, but I am sure it happens. I just cut, rethreaded, and crowned an S12 with nothing but a die, vise, hobby file, sandpaper, and WD40. Looks nice too, but I am really talented with a file and have a good 'eye' for things.
  20. Buy the tread alignment tool and the die from Dinzag. He has some excellent prices on that type of stuff. You will always end up using it again sooner or later, if not on your weapons, on a friend's weapon. Or, you can buy them, use them, and sell them to me for a little less than what you have in them. You get your barrel threaded for cheaper than the rental fee or Cadiz and I get a little money off of something I'll buy sooner or later anyway. We both win! PM me if interested.
  21. We do what we have to do for the meantime and upgrades/improvements seem to follow when viable. I don't think you can go wrong with the Ace folder. I want the 7.5" on something. but just bought a triangle folder. Maybe I need to get another S12 to put the Ace 7.5" stock on it. Funny how parts turn into weapons Get the hell outta there before you grow roots! "ABORT!"
  22. Thank you Tritium!!!! You are my hero of the day. He only had 3 posts and was already getting on my nerves. Some people just don't get it. At least the percentage of idiots stays fairly low here and when they need removal you guys have good timing. Thank you for your efforts.
  23. 1- Does the 12ga crown cutter cut the radiused edges like a factory S12 muzzle? If I am understanding what I read on the site, it just cuts the muzzle flat with no radius on the edges. Correct? 2- I need a 7.62 crowning tool and I need to use it with a drill. Target crown tool, crown pilot, and crown adapter .... does this sound right? Is there still free shipping?
